This year the Chanel Black Friday 2020 launch is a new Rouge Coco Flash in Coco Club 136 ($38). It’s a smooth glossy berry shimmer that flashes both plum and red at the same time. Pigment is full and opaque but with a tiny bit of translucent finish with the shine. On my lips and complexion reds and plums tend to pull bright fuchsia red and this is the case with this color. If you find reds pull more true to the tube color you will find it more on the red-plum side. Coco Club is a classic glam color. For me – I tend to gravitate towards pinks or corals for brighter shades this one pulls more dressy. You can find this now at Chanel.com.
Finish is glossy but it stays put for several hours before fading. To extend the wear or help keep it in place I recommend using a lip liner. I wore this by itself for the post. If you’re looking for a Chanel Lip Liner, I swatched their new Le Crayon Levres Longwear Lip Pencils earlier this spring here.
Quality, lasting power, pigment and shine are a solid A+. You can find the Chanel Rogue Coco Flash in Coco Club available now online at Chanel.com. What do you think? Will you be ordering this one? Stay tuned for a look a their Cyber Monday launch coming soon!

I’m back with another Charlotte Tilbury haul! She launched more products for the eyes with a new quad and two cream eyeshadows. Also I received so many requests to review the Super Lipsticks so I caved and ordered them to swatch and compare for you today. I ordered everything from Charlotte Tilbury online. Right now it looks like these items are exclusive to her website and I don’t know if she will launch them at other stores or counters.
I wasn’t able to shoot the eye looks as my camera died and I need to replace it. If you are interested in more eye looks let me know in the comments and I’ll try and update this post if you want more looks/photos. It’s been a terrible week with the tropical storm and some tech issues here!
Charlotte Tilbury’s new Luxury Eye Palette in Fire Rose is one of the prettiest ones I’ve seen this year. I like this one because it has only one reddish/plum shade and even though it’s warm, the rest of the palette pulls more neutral on my complexion. The colors are smooth and ultra pigmented. I think this is a winner for me!
Colors include a shimmery metallic pink, shimmery medium taupe plum brown, sparkling glitter champagne top coat and a matte plum-red-brown.
New Shades of Eyes to Mesmerise
I’m a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise cream shadows so I knew I had to have both of the new ones. Copper Sunrise is a shimmery warm soft coppery pink that isn’t too warm on my skin. Sunset Rose is a soft plum pink. Both smooth out to a medium luminous sheen. If blended the colors will sheer out more for a wash of color. I like to use these as bases for cream shadows or on lazy makeup days. You can layer for more color but in general they aren’t going to be super pigmented on the lids. On me they last well but I have dry lids so I don’t have oily lid issues.
Swatch comparisons next to a few other shades.
Super Lipsticks
Charlotte Tilbury launched three new lipsticks in a limited-edition packaging. The only thing different is the lid which has tiny jewels on the top. All three performed well true to her lipstick standards. I love her mattes because they’re not a flat matte. These have medium to full coverage and have impressive lasting power on me. I think her new colors are really flattering – I hope she considers adding them to her permanent lineup.
KISSING Lipstick in Super Nude is sold out (I hope they restock) is a cool-toned medium nude pink
KISSING Lipstick in Super Starlet is a muted red cream with full coverage
I swatched them below next to a few other neutrals. There are similarities to other colors but slight differences in the undertone.
All three on the face as I was able to swatch them on my lips with a different camera. I hope to get my replacement today! My foundation shade in Charlotte Tilbury is the Magic Foundation in Shade 7.
I think everything I hauled is a solid win. I really love the eyeshadow palette even though she seems to be launching so many. I love her Cream Shadows although I know many of you don’t like her formula – if you have oily lids they might not last long on your skin type. Her new shades of lipsticks are as good as many of you have said they were, however I do think they are dupeable.
If you’re shopping around for her new launches I do recommend checking her website as she usually has bundles available with a price break. Right now until the 15th she has a Gift With Purchase going on for a free Magic Cream Light (which I received with my order).
Did you try anything from this launch yet? Or are you waiting to see what she has coming out before the end of the year?
I have a Charlotte Tilbury holiday haul review today! I ordered almost everything from the holiday launch so far and have swatches, beauty looks and thoughts today. I ordered most of my items from Charlotte Tilbury and a few things from Nordstrom. In today’s haul post:
I fell in love with the look of the Bejewelled Eyes to Hypnotise Palette while shopping in store at Nordstrom. The store lights made the palette glow and sparkle in the most beautiful way! It has four sets of coordinating eye trios. Each set is designed for a certain look for prime, enhance and smoke placement.
I think this is a beautiful palette for a glam look. You can mix or match the shades but I do think you will need colors from other palettes to give you a complete look. On me there weren’t enough deep shades to add depth or dimension, although you can always just add a liner for a completed look.
Happy Glow has golden tan tones
Love Glow has pink and red tones (I’m not a fan of these by themself, they’re much to red for my taste, but I can make them work on me when layered with other colors)
Dream Glow has pretty plum and mauve tones
Seduce Glow has pretty neutral bronze brown tones
Eye Looks below featuring Seduce Glow Look (bronze) and also Dream Glow Look (plum)
Colors are smooth and easy to layer. Lasting power is very good on all colors and the shimmers aren’t too glittery or glitzy if you’re like me and prefer a more subtle sparkle.
The Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette
I had such high hopes for The Super Nudes Easy Eye Palette and have mixed feelings about this one. I really loved the Easy Smokey Eye x Nordstrom palette from a couple years ago. This new Super Nudes Palette has a completely different texture. There are 6 mattes but they are almost creamy velvety like mattes that have an odd texture to me. They apply smoothly on the lids although you have to use a dense brush and almost pat/blend/pack it on. I found the MAC 239S worked best for me.
Colors are:
Soft warm tan
Medium tan brown
Warm deep brown
Matte ivory
Matte soft grey
Matte smokey black
The texture is almost like some of the Natasha Denona mattes which are more of a bouncy matte, however I find the ones from Natasha Denona perform much better.
I have mixed feelings about this new Super Nudes palette. I love the shades and think it creates a nice soft smokey eye look. I just don’t love the formula – it’s not bad, but I think it would have been SO much better if they made it a regular matte. I think the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam or Soft Glam II Mini will give you a similar look with a much better texture.
Luxury Palette of Pops in Dazzling Diamonds
The Luxury Palette of Pops in Dazzling Diamonds has four sparkling colors in a sparkling white gold champagne, sparkling soft gold brown, sparkling deeper bronze and sparkling blue-black-grey.
The glitters are beautiful in this one! I think they’re stunning for holiday for a super pretty look although I had trouble getting a good makeup look with this one. I know this one is designed to be a glitzy one with lots of sparkle to make the eyes pop. On my eyes all four were a bit too much for me. The glitter does adhere to the eyes and has minimal fall out if you use a patting method to apply. For me I think this is going to be better when used in conjunction with other matte or satin shades. I am going to keep trying with this one to get a decent makeup look for you in another post.
I am 100% smitten with the Jewel Lip Gloss. These are shimmery glosses loaded with sparkle but the ones I’ve tried are completely smooth and texture free. These have a subtle vanilla scent similar to the MAC Lipglasses. There are three new colors with the holiday collection, I also included two from a previous launch to swatch below. (If you shop on Charlotte Tilbury’s site she has some bundles available with a bit of price break for buying the sets.)
Champagne Diamonds is a sheer sparkling gold beige
Opal Magic is a sheer pale pink gold
Blushed Gold is a pretty neutral pink beige sparkle
Pillow Talk is a pink rose glow with a soft sheen
Walk of No Shame is a shimmery deeper rosy color
These work alone, with a liner or on top of a gloss. I think these give the lips the prettiest and most flattering glow I’ve seen in a long time. I highly recommend checking them out! There is one more shade called ROSE JEWEL exclusive to Sephora. The reviews sound pretty bad for this shade but if you’ve tried it and think otherwise let me know in the comments!
Hollywood Superstar Glow Highlighter
I’m ending with the product I think is the star of the collection. The Hollywood Superstar Glow Highlighter is one of the prettiest opal glow I’ve seen in a long time. It looks pretty standard when swatched on the arms or compared to other shades but I think it looks so flattering on the skin. If you’re medium tan like me this will look like your skin but more glowing. It flashes peach, pink, pale pink, and opal all in one without looking too frosted. If you have lighter fair skin this will look more peachy on you.
Closer look at different angles shows the complexity of the glow/color:
Swatch comparisons below, the swatches do not do it justice at all!
That wraps up my haul post! For me the standouts are her Hollywood Superglow Highlighter (wish this was permanent!) and her Jewel Lips Lip Glosses. I think her palettes are nice, but not must-haves especially if you already own a lot of other shades from her line.
I have a new Natasha Denona haul with her latest launches! As usual she has some stunning new palettes and a new glow highlighter. So many of you are really excited about the Glam Eyeshadow palette and asked for swatches. I’m thrilled to have them up for you today.
The Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette is one of her smaller 15 pans similar to her Bronze Eyeshadow Palette versus her larger ones like the Biba Palette. On my skin tone Glam is a neutral-cool palette with a wide range of textures. It has a great mix of mattes and shimmers and in this one she labeled each color for placement such as Center Eye Lid, Outer Eye Lid, Crease, Transition etc.
Middle Row: soft medium matte brown, medium matte pink cocoa tan, deep matte cool brown, shimmery silver, shimmery cool silver
Bottom Row: metallic pale gold, medium shimmery brown, shimmery cool champagne, metallic taupe and shimmery champange
Texture is smooth and easy to blend. I adore her shimmers and metallic colors – I think they apply so beautifully on the lids and layer on top of mattes in the most exquisite way. Mattes are best for smoking or using all over the lid – they may apply streaky on the arm/hand but blend nicely on the eyes.
I really love this one! If you own a lot of neutrals I suspect you will have repeats in your stash. I do like the convenience of having so many shades in one palette. You can really create a full eye look with the palette. Other similar palettes like Tom Ford Nude Dip or even the First Frost have a similar vibe and tone – but I often have to add liner or a dark matte eyeshadow to line or add depth.
Her new Mini Zendo Eyeshadow Palette is absolutely gorgeous! I love her minis because I find them really convenient and easy to use. I also think she comes up with the most beautiful color combinations. When I first saw it I didn’t know exactly how to use it as the metallic silver/green/taupe threw me off – it’s stunning but I wasn’t sure how to apply it with the other colors. I followed one of her tutorials on her Instagram highlights @natashadenona and found it really helpful for placement and order of application. With some blending and layering I added the green shade last as a topper and it gave the eye so much depth and glow.
I Need A Nude Glow Highlighter
I wasn’t planning on buying this one but I saw it at Sephora and had to have it. Her I Need A Nude Glow Highlighter is a single champagne nude highlighter with a soft candlelit glow. On my skin it pulls warm and gold. Metallic highlighters usually show or emphasize texture on my skin but this one has a smooth finish and makes the skin look almost like glass. Color-wise I don’t think it is the most unique. I found it similar to the one from the Tan and Bronze Glow Palette.
Swatch comparisons to a few other formulas below:
I Need A Nude Lipstick in Andrea
There are two new lipsticks in her latest holiday launch and I opted for the I Need A Nude Lipstick in Andrea. Colors this pale are usually a nightmare for me to wear or pull off. Her tutorials showed it looked pretty on a wide range of skintones so I was willing to try it. I have slightly mixed feelings. Formula and coverage-wise it’s really really good. It has smooth opaque coverage without any streaking or caking. Color-wise it’s a little too pale and light by itself, but for me light colors are always tricky. I applied it by itself below – if I added a deeper liner like MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl or Stripdown and added a bit of gloss I think I could make it work.
Overall I love everything. I think the Glam Palette is a lovely addition to her lineup and if you have been wanting a neutral-cool palette this is a great one. I do think her Mini Zendo Palette can be a bit tricky to apply with color placement but I highly recommend you watch her tutorials on her Instagram Story Highlights – it’s so inspirational with her color combinations and I love watching her technique!

There are two new launches from Tom Ford Beauty and I have a look at the Tom Ford First Frost Eye Color Quad ($88) along with the limited-edition Balm Frost ($56). As a die-hard lover of Tom Ford I knew I had to have both and ordered them without hesitation from Nordstrom.
First Frost Soleil Eye Color Quad
The Tom Ford First Frost Eyeshadow quad comes in the white and gold packaging and has that same pressed metallic formula as Nude Dip, Honeymoon, Body Heat etc. I will say that the current online stock images seem to be off for the First Frost palette as it is a cool-toned palette with pink and taupe while the stock images show something warmer with more peach and bronze tones.
First Frost has four smooth metallic shimmers. They’re easy to blend and layer. You can apply them with a wet brush for more intensity/shine but I prefer using a regular dry eyeshadow brush like the MAC 239S, Tom Ford 12 Eye Contour or Hourglass No 3 or No 12. Colors are a white pearl shimmer, medium rose pink that has a warm base but flashes a cool-pink and gold shimmer, a neutral-cool taupe brown with silver shimmer, deeper cool toned bronze.
On my medium-tan skin the colors look more contrasted with my skin and more cool-toned. If you’re lighter or warmer in complexion the colors will pull less pale/frosty and look more true to pan on your skin.
Some comparison swatches to last year’s Soleil D’Hiver (reviewed here) and Nude Dip. The colors are in the similar color family to my eye. The main difference is in the undertone and depth of the colors.
The Tom Ford Balm Frost this year has a sheer pink iridescent base coated with the prettiest dusting of sparkles on the exterior. It looks incredibly beautiful straight out of the box and has that perfect holiday feel. The sparkle is a top coat on the exterior but underneath you still have a pale iridescent shimmer that flashes silver, iridescent green, and pale gold.
On my arms vs lips it looks completely different. On the arm swatch below I see more white and gold. On my lips it is very sheer but the sparkles leave a pale pearlescent sheen. The color on my lips is almost white with a super soft pale pink glow.
I’m surprised how different this looks on everyone I’ve seen try this! I have a more pigmented natural lip, sometimes it’s more brown other times it’s more purple – so any sheer lip color will look different on you than it does on me. Also my natural lip shows through around the edges often. With this one I feel the frost/sparkle contrasts with my natural lip to give it a more frosted look. If you add a liner or lipstick underneath it doubles as a fun top coat.
Formula-wise it had minimal texture on the lips – I didn’t feel any texture from the sparkle. It has nice moisture but isn’t as hydrating like the Fresh Sugar Lip Balms or a lip oil. I think it’s fun and I love how beautiful it looks. For me it was worth the splurge although I the Soleil Lip Blush is more special with the pink tinge it gives the lips (the clear base with gold flecks). You can still find the Lip Blush individually or in a Soleil Lip Blush Eye Duo Set.
Overall love! Both were worth the splurge for me. I bought the Tom Ford First Frost Eyeshadow Quad and Balm Frost from Nordstrom. You can also find them at Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and all other Tom Ford Beauty retailers.
Victoria Beckham Posh Lipsticks recently launched and I could not be more excited! She launched nine colors of hydrating lipsticks and I ordered six of them from her website Victoria Beckham Beauty. The lipsticks seem to be an exclusive on her website for the time being, but you can also find her products at a few other places like Violet Grey and Net-A-Porter. Her Posh Lipsticks come in a slim twist up tube and retail for $38 each.
The formula is ultra smooth and creamy. They glide on the lips in a beautiful way and have a slight waxy feel. I would say coverage is sheer-medium with most of the colors except the darker ones which have medium pigment. A few swipes back and forth covers the lip entirely with a natural sheen. Finish-wise I would say they’re somewhere in between lightweight and heavy – but they are really comfortable. Lasting power is ok – they fade within a few hours but these days I don’t mind something that doesn’t last super long since I have to take off lip color anyways anytime I wear a mask. To extend the wear or have more pigment, I’d definitely recommend layering with a lip pencil.
I skipped the lightest shade, the red and one of the browns. All the colors are creams (no shimmer). I think they’re beautiful everyday kinds of classics! I have a lot of natural pigment in my lips so if your lips aren’t as dark, these will show up a lot better on your lips/complexion. While I was able to get full coverage I still feel like my natural lip showed through a little.
Tee – ATM Schoolboy Tee (my favorite basic tee that doesn’t shrink in the wash)
Nail Polishes – Chanel Le Vernis in Egerie (pink peach) and Organdi (nude pink) – I shot these photos over the course of a few different days and had switched up the polish
_________
Below top to bottom: Spice, Girl, Pout, Sway, Pose and Play
Girl and Pout are both a bit too light for my natural lip color but if I wear a lip pencil underneath and blend first I can make them work. I love the look of Spice even though it pulls a bit brown on my skin. My favorites are Pose and Sway. Based on my swatching experience I think Fringe (a brown shade I skipped) might have been a good one too!
Overall experience is positive for me and I’m happy with my haul picks. I love the sleek slim packaging and even though these are on the spendy side I do think they were worth ordering. I would have liked to see more color options in the medium color range (versus the pale or deep end) – but I think this is a great start to the lineup. They perform well, texture is beautiful, pigment is sheer but lovely. They’re a great no-fuss kind of classic lip that offers hydration and sheer medium coverage.
Formula-wise I wouldn’t call these the best of the best simply because I prefer colors with a little more pigment but I think they are very good. For me my heart still belongs to the Pat McGrath lineup because of the color selection and pigment. I also prefer the Chantecaille Lip Veils (for pigment and color selection).
You can find the Victoria Beckham Beauty Lipsticks available online at her website Victoria Beckham Beauty. Have you tried any of these yet? What did you think?
Happy Wednesday! I’m finally back with a new post featuring the Chanel Holiday 2020 Collection Les Chaines D’Or de Chanel. We have been away on a mini getaway to celebrate our Anniversary. If you want to check out a few snippets you can check out my Instagram Highlights under the Miami section @beautylookbook. I played with and swatched Chanel Holiday before we left town. I think the colors are really beautiful and luminous for a glowing look. You can find the entire collection online now at Chanel.com – in today’s review:
This holiday Chanel has one illuminating blush called Les Chaines de Chanel. It’s a luminous copper bronze rose with a super smooth sheen. On my skin it warms up the complexion in with a pretty soft pink glow. Pigment is medium with smooth coverage. It’s easy to apply as a soft wash but also buildable. The shimmer is ultra-fine so on my skin it’s not frosty at all. It comes in a black mirrored compact with brush and a stunning embossed chain design. I give this a solid A+. It is definitely a powder formula but has a soft silky almost gel-to-powder like feel. Lasting power is excellent and stays put without darkening. Color shifts depending on how the light hits the pan so don’t let the intensity intimidate you if it looks dark from certain angles.
Swatches below of the Illuminating Blush vs the Rose Cuivre Eyeshadow in this collection:
Comparison swatches below to a few other highlighters and blushes:
Ombre Premiere Longwear Powder Eyeshadows
There are four new Ombre Premiere Longwear Powder Eyeshadows. They’re metallic with tiny flecks of sparkles for a shimmery festive look. I ended up liking these a lot more than I anticipated. In the compacts they looked a little dull but on the skin they’re really flattering and easy to wear. I’m super picky with gold undertones and on my arm/hand the golds looked like they would not work on my tan olive skin. They are very wearable. There is no fallout on me when I apply these, they stay put like the other colors in this formula. Pigment is medium when applied dry. You can apply with a damp brush to intensify pigment.
Or Blanc is a shimmering antiqued white gold
Or Antique is a sparkling antique deeper gold
Cuivre Rose is a pretty metallic rose shimmer (LOVE this one)
Cuir Brun is a soft smokey shimmery deep cool brown
Le Vernis Longwear Nail Color
For the nails Chanel launched one Le Vernis Longwear Nail Color in Chaine D’Or. It’s a metallic antique gold. Coverage is smooth and although metallic applies easily with minimal visible brush strokes. On me this is a one-coat wonder although I applied it in two coats. As pretty as it is I don’t find it flattering on my skin and undertone. It’s a little too brassy on my fingers. I feel it will be better suited for those who are lighter or deeper in skintone than me. Quality wise it’s excellent though.
Rouge Allure Luminous Lip Color
Last is a look at the four Rouge Allure Luminous Lip Colors for holiday. These all have varying degrees of shimmer and are a little more shimmery than most other Rouge Allures I’ve tried. Application is smooth and comfortable. They have a super soft almost almond-like scent like the Rouge Allure formula but it’s VERY subtle and I barely notice it once it is on the lips.
Formula is creamy and offers full coverage with a luminous sheen. They feel nice on the lips like a traditional lipstick. For me lasting power is pretty good!
Or Beige 107 is a soft beige with gold shimmer
Or Cuivre 117 is a nude plum shimmer
Rouge D’Or 127 is a bold warm red with shimmr
Pourpre D’Or 137 is a deeper plum (almost looks identical on my lips as Or Cuivre)
Nails – Le Vernis is from the fall collection in Egerie (also reviewed here)
Tee – Reformation Alex Slim Tee
The stand outs to me are the new Les Chaines de Chanel highlighter and Rose Cuivre Eyeshadow. I also love a good smokey brown so Cuir Brun is another new favorite for me. I hope you found this review and swatches helpful! You can find everything available now online at Chanel.com. I suspect it will launch soon at other retailers and counters as well.
Have you checked out anything from the new Chanel launches yet? What did you think?
