Chanel Les Beiges Collection Review 2018

The Chanel Les Beiges Collection 2018 has finally arrived and I’m thrilled to be able to give you a look at everything from this year’s launch. This is one collection I look forward to each year for natural glowing makeup. I’ve used the original Les Beiges Powders in No 20 and 30 for as long as I can remember! They usually launch some of the prettiest bronzers and this year they have Luminous Multi-Colour Powders with stripes of different colors mixed in. There are also new shades for eyes and lips. Covered today:

Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Moisturizing Tint

Up first is a look at the Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Moisturizing Tint which comes in 6 colors: Light, Medium Light, Medium, Medium Plus, Light Deep and Deep. These are sheer tints that have SPF 30 and have enough coverage to even out the skin for a truly luminous glow.

I tested these twice on separate beach days and also at home. I love these for the beach! They add just the right amount of sheer coverage so skin looks natural. They are very dewy so I absolutely need to set with a powder. I tested this with the Les Beiges Powder No 20 and Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Powder #2 and it stayed put all day. I did need a few touchups at the beach and it actually lasted well through a swim in the ocean. If you have very oily skin this is not the product for you. I have normal combination skin and found these worked for my skin type. It has a similar finish and coverage to that of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Perfectors and is slightly more opaque/thicker and more gel-like compared to the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizers (which I find super sheer and thin). For me best application was with a damp beautyblender.

Swatches below. The color is very forgiving so I can get away with Medium or Medium Plus.

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder

I always look forward to the new Les Beiges powders! Sometimes they’ve done striped versions of light or bronze shades. Last year’s were a total fail for me as I couldn’t get the texture to work with my skin. This year’s formula has improved significantly in texture and I’m 100% obsessed. The Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder comes in 3 shades that look like your skin but better in a glowing way. These were nearly impossible to capture on the face as they have a subtle glow. They powders are striped with different colors mixed in and when swirled you get the prettiest PERFECT soft luminous glow.

They are somewhere in between highlighters, finishing powders and bronzers (at least for Medium and Light). For my skin they’re a bit too luminous to use all over the face but I love them in place of where I’d use highlighter or a soft bronzer. In this beauty world we are bombarded with extra glow which I love, but sometimes it’s really nice to have something more natural and easier to wear for everyday.

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder Light, Medium and Deep

Light is more of a highlighter on my skin, Medium is my perfect match, Deep is the prettiest subtle bronze. I’ve collected every limited-edition Les Beiges powder over the years and this year’s are the best ones I’ve tried.

Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick

For the Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick this year they have 1 new color No 25. It looks scary bright in the tube but it sheers out to the perfect watermelon flush. It has a waxy feel so it’s not dewy and dries to a soft semi-matte finish. I was able to apply on top of powder and foundation without it disrupting my base.

Les Beiges Health Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette

There are two new Les Beiges Health Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palettes in Light and Deep. Light has a mix of cool pink, purples and plums with a soft iridescent sheen to them. Pigment is really good and this reminds me of one of the older 5 pan palettes Chanel launched years ago. Deep has a mix of satin and sparkle shades. The mattes are brown based and the shimmers are golds. I’d recommend using a super dense cream shadow brush or fingers to apply the gold colors – otherwise you’ll get sparkle everywhere! I still think Medium is the best option for classic mattes (review here).

Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balms

Last but not least are the three Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balms in Light, Medium and Deep. These give the lips that perfect effortless flush of color for summer!

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm Light, Medium and Deep

At first glance I have to admit I thought they looked extremely boring. Swatched on the hand or arm you barely see color. Give them a chance because they are perfect on the lips. I think these are much like the Rouge Coco Shines where they apply better on the lips than arm swatches! Light is a pretty bright soft pink, Medium is a rosy pink, Deep is the perfect flushed plum pink. They are hydrating, soft, feel nice on the lips and don’t slide around. You will need to reapply after a few hours but I like the finish. They are very good for a tinted balm.

One last look, Chanel Les Beiges Collection 2018:

Chanel Les Beiges Collection Review 2018

Overall I think the Chanel Les Beiges Collection 2018 is perfect. The Chanel team was amazing to send everything for review but by the time I received it I had already bought the three powders. I’m really happy to have backups now because they are some of the prettiest luminous powders I’ve seen in a long time. They are somewhere in between highlighters, finishing powders and bronzers (at least for Medium and Light)!

I can’t pick a favorite in the collection but I highly recommend the Healthy Glow Multi-Colour Powders, Healthy Glow Lip Balms and the new Cream Blush stick. The tints are going to be hit or miss depending on your skin type and coverage preference. I really like them but I don’t think they’re going to be good if you need coverage or if you have very oily skin. The eyeshadow palettes are stunning, I love Deep but I love the shimmers of Light. My recommendation for the palettes are going to be based on your color preference as I know palettes can be tricky if you don’t love all the colors.

Overall a huge thumbs up. I’ll be wearing the powders in Medium and Deep all summer long.

You can find the Chanel Les Beiges collection at Chanel.com now. Also available at all counters by now. As I’m finishing this post I’ve noticed their beautiful Cruise Collection just popped up online too!

I hope to have more reviews soon but I have a lot to work through in testing and swatching!

Les Beiges kindly sent from Chanel for review.

I was looking for this overview from you! I had been trying to find swatches of the full collection for days and this came at the PERFECT time. Do you use the Healthy Glow powder as an all-over face powder? The deep looks gorgeous as a bronzer, but the medium looks like a beautiful all over luminous powder!

    • BeautyLookBook May 4, 2018 at 2:38 pm

Hi Stephanie – to echo my reply to Jina above, the answer to your question is in the description in the post! Check on the first paragraph under the Les Beiges Multi-Colour Powder subheading. I can’t wear these all over as a setting powder!

      • Stephanie May 4, 2018 at 2:59 pm

Yes, I saw that! I probably should have clarified that I meant medium looks like a perfect match for my skintone but slightly too subtle as a highlighter – perhaps it’d work better in the winter when I crave more glow or just a different shade completely.

  • tmi0604 May 4, 2018 at 12:19 pm

I just have to send you a compliment for the absolutely BEST swatches on the internet..clear, labeled, and close-up. I think brands should hire you to do their swatches to post for their products. Nothing more irritating than looking a tiny micro-square ‘swatch’ for a lip color that isn’t even close to what it looks like in real life. Thank you, and I’m so glad I found your blog!

    • BeautyLookBook May 4, 2018 at 2:37 pm

Thank you! Glad the swatches look good to you!

  • Anna May 4, 2018 at 12:22 pm

Beautiful collection, I’ll add the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder in light and Lip Balms to my makeup wish-list.

  • Jelena Stojnic May 4, 2018 at 12:46 pm

One of the best chanel collections in a while. I already picked up the tint, two powders light and medium but your swatches are making me want the deep one too. I also got the light lip balm but medium looks great! I also want the lighter eye palette. thanks for the beautiful swatches

    • BeautyLookBook May 4, 2018 at 2:36 pm

You are too sweet, thank you xoxo

  • Anna Tran May 4, 2018 at 12:47 pm

Thank you for this review. I have obsessed with Chanel make up, but cannot buy all of them. Because of your review, I can know which one I should buy.

    • BeautyLookBook May 4, 2018 at 2:36 pm

Hi Anna, glad the review helped!

  • Jina Jung May 4, 2018 at 1:17 pm

I’ve been eyeing this collection since they recently launched, but I was honestly waiting for your review. I feel like I can’t buy a luxury product without first reading your full overview.

Question re: the Multi-colour powders, how do you wear the medium and deep? Do you use both as bronzers?
re: the Cream blush sticks, they look like they could be used as a lip + cheek cream stick. Would you not recommend doing that?

    • BeautyLookBook May 4, 2018 at 2:36 pm

Hi Jina, I realize there’s a lot of text, but I describe how I wear them in the post! Medium is more of a soft contour, Deep is a soft bronzer.

      • Jina Jung May 4, 2018 at 3:28 pm

        Thanks for the clarification!

  • Collar Wilson May 4, 2018 at 2:34 pm

I like the look where you’re wearing the medium lip balm. It appears very natural and fresh and you look beautiful, as always. I purchased the deep lip balm and three new nail polishes.

  • lawler || yvettemypet May 4, 2018 at 3:46 pm

I was prepared to not be interested this line at all. Then I saw those blush sticks and the moisturizing tint! No25 looks great, although I like the berry-ness of No23, but worry it will be too sheer. I might try Medium Plus in the tint to warm myself up a bit.

    • BeautyLookBook May 5, 2018 at 11:54 pm

The blush sticks are nice for someone who wants a very sheer tint. They swatch nicely on the arm and can be built up on the cheeks, but in general once blended they sheer out a lot.

  • Charli Griffith May 4, 2018 at 6:59 pm

It’s all so Lovely! You look beautiful as always!
Those lip balms are so sweet looking that I am very tempted to get one even though I have plenty. I mean, who doesn’t need a Chanel lip balm? I love that they priced them “reasonably” considering.
Also the cheek sticks are beautiful. Oh who am I kidding, it’s all gorgeous and I want it all!

  • Petunia May 4, 2018 at 10:51 pm

Wow. Great Les Beiges Collection this year. I think I need to read the review a few more times before I place my order.

    • BeautyLookBook May 5, 2018 at 11:53 pm

I agree! Subtle but really pretty 🙂

  • Eileen May 4, 2018 at 11:54 pm

First of all, let me echo what so many others have already said: Your photography, layouts, and swatches are the very best of the best, Sabrina. It’s obvious that you put a lot of time and energy into your honest reviews and we, your readers, are the beneficiaries. So, thank you.

Chanel’s Les Beiges collection this year is simply beautiful and the quality of the products I tried, superb. Most of the year I embrace my pale, but come spring, I’m ready for a soft glow that hints at the warm weather to come. I always purchase the original powder in #10. It adds a bit of natural looking warmth to my light complexion that is far more flattering at my age than using a bronzer. While at the counter, I also picked up the eyeshadow palette in Medium, the lip balm in Light, and the multi-color powder in Light. There is nothing razzle-dazzle about my picks, but the overall look is both effortless and polished—perfect for spring in So Cal.

    • BeautyLookBook May 5, 2018 at 11:52 pm

You’re too sweet Eileen – thank you for your support, always! I think your picks are perfect!

  • Sharon May 5, 2018 at 4:42 pm

I spent so much on Chanel’s makeup along the years but lately i feel they aren’t as innovative as they used to be and they end up copying other brands. So besides their mascara and an occasional lipstick, i find myself buying more tom ford, Sisley, charlotte tilbury, Pat Mcgrath, YSL… you get the idea. Really hope someone there wakes up and understand that something needs to be done. Thank you Sabrina as always for the beautiful review.

    • BeautyLookBook May 5, 2018 at 11:51 pm

Hi Sharon, I feel the same – I remember LIVING for their newest launches as fashion-foward (or beauty-forward to be more accurate)! This collection is one of the few I’ve really felt the same love I used to. But the good thing is that there is plenty to explore in the lines you mentioned 🙂

  • Heather May 5, 2018 at 11:45 pm

I don’t own anything Chanel but I absolutely love the look of them and some of their products do look incredibly stunning.

    • BeautyLookBook May 5, 2018 at 11:49 pm

Chanel has been a go-to for years!

      • Rachels Page May 6, 2018 at 7:01 am

I fell in love with the lipstick shade Marie. The pictures of the tube color online don’t even do it justice. I’ve been wearing Chanel for years. Their lipstick colors I find just can’t be duped.

        • cpbebe May 22, 2018 at 1:44 pm

Same! I love Marie, it’s universally flattering. Classic Rouge Coco is my favorite lipstick formula. So moisturizing, my lips always look better when I am using it. The Les Beiges balms are a nice option for summer, and at that price point, I splurged on all three colors.

  • disqus_H18ALDw6QX May 6, 2018 at 12:03 am

I ordered the medium beige powder and the No. 5 hand cream today. Thank you so much for the valuable swatches and review. The tinted moisturizer and the lip balms are very nice, too.
Chanel is still my favorite line for its quality, style and innovation.

My local stores ran out of the Healthy Glow Luminous Multi-Colour Powder in Light completely. Some weren’t even shipped the Light shade but only Medium and Dark.

I had to go to the Chanel website to order the powder in light and picked up the lip balm in medium. Sabrina – you have the best layout for makeup swatches and I’ve been reading your blog for a long time before posting in person. I still refer back to your much older postings for swatches and reviews. Your skincare reviews especially have given me the push to try new things.

    I want…all of these.

  • Jasmine Harding May 7, 2018 at 10:58 am

This collection is incredible – I LOVE the bronzers, so so beautiful. I’m definitely tempted to pick one up for Summer!

I was so excited to see this collection come out! I ordered the Moisturizing Tint and Multi-Color Powder and I love them both!! Chanel never disappoints me! The moisturizing tint is so hydrating and luminous–just what this thirsty skin needs! The Multi-color powder (I got Medium) is amazing! You only need just a touch of this powder to give your face that sun-kissed glow! Love-love!!
