New Charlotte Tilbury: Airbrush Bronzer, Air-Brush and Desert Haze Quad

May 28, 2020

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer, Air-Brush + Desert Haze | The Beauty Look Book

I’m back with a new Charlotte Tilbury haul post featuring the new Bronzer, Retractable Brush and Eyeshadow Quad. I ordered everything online from Charlotte Tilbury as they had an early product launch. The products are now starting to appear on other retail sites like Nordstrom, Sephora and Beautylish. I also have a swatch lineup of a couple other products by popular request as some colors have now appeared at Sephora, Nordstrom, etc.

________

Airbrush Bronzer

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer in Fair and Medium | The Beauty Look Book

There are four shades of Airbrush Bronzer in Fair, Medium, Tan and Deep. These are large refillable matte bronzing powders (pans are magnetic and there’s a hole on the bottom to pop out the pan). Online they have shade recommendations based on your Charlotte Tilbury foundation match. I am a match to the Airbrush Foundation in 7N and 7.5N (when I’m not as tan, reviewed here) so the best bronzer shade for me according to Charlotte Tilbury is Medium. I also ordered Fair out of curiosity also because often times “fair” isn’t always truly light in color, but rather just a light tan.

Formula-wise these are easy to blend and very smooth. There’s no patchy texture and it is easy to layer for a truly natural blurred bronzed look or soft contour. Lasting power is good – it stayed put without oxidizing or looking muddy.

Fair 1 Airbrush Bronzer

The Fair 1 Airbrush Bronzer is a close match to the Medium 2 Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder. On my skin the Fair Bronzer looks like powder. I was hoping because of the size that it would be a good alternate for the Pressed Powder since I hit pan frequently on the setting powder (it’s one of my holy grails!). I tried it as both a bronzer and setting powder since the ingredient lineup is pretty similar. The formulas are very similar in the fact that they blend well. The pressed powder is a little heavier in coverage on my skin while the bronzer seems a tad bit more lightweight. Color-wise the Fair 1 Airbrush Bronzer has a bit more cool tones with more olive so on my skin it looks a little more olive/greenish when applied all over the face. It works as a setting powder, but I prefer the regular pressed powder for all over.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder vs Bronzer

Wearing below:

Medium 2 Airbrush Bronzer

The Medium 2 Airbrush Bronzer is a truly natural looking soft matte bronze. Normally I think I might be able to go one shade darker but there seems to be a huge jump in between colors so the next shade up will most likely be too dark for me.

Same beauty breakdown as above except with Airbrush Bronzer in Medium and Lip color combo is Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Medium 2 + Collagen Lip Bath in Pillow Talk on top.

Air-Brush Retractable Bronzing Brush

Charlotte Tilbury Air-Brush Retractable Bronzing Brush Review

The Air-Brush Retractable Bronzing Brush is a super soft plush white fluffy brush for the bronzer. It’s well made and I think it’s perfect for packing in your makeup bag since it has a cap. I do worry it might be a bit tricky to wash but I really like it and think it’s worth the splurge.

________

Desert Haze Luxury Palette Matte Eyeshadow Quad

Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Quad in Desert Haze

The Desert Haze Luxury Palette Matte Eyeshadow Quad is yet another warm eyeshadow palette from Charlotte Tilbury. It has all matte shades with a beige cream, matte orange brown, deeper warm matte brown and terracotta. Pigment on this one is amazing and when applying it from light to dark I thought it was for sure going to be too orangey. The deepest shade however pulls it all together for a more complete warm smokey sunset eye look and I really like it! Pigment is really smooth and easy to blend with a rich finish.

If you can’t do warms but want a good matte neutral palette I think Tom Ford Mink Mirage is the best one available right now.

Swatches below next to Charlotte Tilbury’s The Sophisticate and Transformeyes (currently discontinued, but it has made a comeback a few times, hoping it might return someday)

________

Collagen Lip Bath

Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath

The Collagen Lip Bath is one of my favorite lip plumpers that doesn’t have an intense tingle. I wanted to swatch all of them side by side for you since all the colors are now available at Sephora and Nordstrom! (Pillow Talk was previously exclusive to Charlotte Tilbury.) Also added a couple other neutrals from the Lip Lustre formula lineup which I also love.

Beauty Light Wands

Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand Swatches | The Beauty Look Book

Last but not least is another look at the Beauty Light Wands as the two Pillow Talk Light and Pillow Talk Medium colors have finally arrived at Sephora. I don’t think I’ve done makeup looks with all of them on the blog, but you can see Spotlight on the face here. Pinkgasm on the face here.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer, Air-Brush + Desert Haze | The Beauty Look Book

That wraps up my Charlotte Tilbury bronzer haul! Hope you found this helpful. I really like the things I ordered. The bronzing powders are smooth and easy to blend for a natural look. I don’t know that Fair will show up as a bronzer even on truly light/fair skin tones as it looks pretty light to me. If you are fair and tried it let me know what it looks like on you! Medium works for a natural bronzer on me right now. As the summer progresses I know I will get more color from the sun so I’m not sure if it will still show up in a month’s time. As much as I don’t like warm or matte eyeshadows I was surprised to find I really love the look and finish of Desert Haze quad. It’s one I think I’ll reach for a lot this summer!

You can find all of the new beauty launches now online at Charlotte Tilbury. Some retailers like Nordstrom, Sephora and Beautylish have the bronzers. I haven’t seen the quad pop up anywhere else yet but I suspect it will launch at other retailers eventually.

Kosas

Kosas Cosmetics Roundup + Review

May 11, 2020

Kosas brand review | The Beauty Look Book

Today I have a full Kosas roundup and review. I’ve been playing around with the line for quite some time now and I’ve tested every product they have launched. Today I’m excited to share a closer look along with a list of what I think are the hits and misses. Overall I love the vibe and well edited look of Kosas products. They’re a clean beauty line which I know many of you are passionate about. You can find the full list of ingredients for every product on their website.

Tinted Face Oil

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Review Shade 6

I reviewed the Kosas Tinted Face Oil a year ago and my shade match is still Shade 6, but I no longer use this. This is not my favorite product in the line as I can’t wear super dewy products on the face. I can wear something that’s luminous but since this is an oil it’s very dewy and sheer. It’s more like a skincare product rather than a base. In the Florida heat this doesn’t hold up outdoors. You can read the full review, swatches of Shade 5, 6 and 7 along with before/after photos in my review here.

Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer

Kosas Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer Review

One of their newer launches is the Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer which I absolutely love! It is a really nice creamy concealer perfect for brightening and highlighting. I like it under the eyes – the creamy texture means it doesn’t cake or crease on me. It also has caffeine to help with puffiness which I always need help with in the mornings. I was sent a few shades to try. I like Shade 5 for brightening and Shade 6 for a closer match. It has medium coverage and is super easy to blend. I always set concealer with a powder to make it last all day. On me with a powder the Kosas concealer performs exceptionally well.

Swatches next to a few other concealer shades including NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Macadamia, Ginger and Praline and MAC Studio Fix Concealer in NC35 and NC40.

Color and Light Pressed Powder Blush

Kosas Color and Light Pressed Blush Review

For the cheeks I’m completely obsessed with their Color and Light Pressed Powder Blushes. I bought every single color and think they’re really easy to wear and incorporate into your everyday look. I know many of you are most likely more interested in the Color and Light Pressed Powder Creams – I skipped reviewing these as I tried a couple and found them too emollient and dewy for my preference. In general I cannot wear most cream blushes – it’s simply too hot and humid here for me to have them last!

Powder is the way to go for me on these, I like that they have a soft finish. Note that the highlighters for the regular duos look similar on my arm swatches and they are almost identical on me. If I look closely I see subtle differences in the undertone. There is a more noticeable difference in the highlighter side for the High Intensity colors.

Kosas Color and Light Pressed Blush swatches

The Color and Light Pressed Powder Blushes come in six shades, each duo has a blush color with a satiny finish (slight shimmer) and a lighter colored highlighter (also has a soft shimmer). On my skin the these are among the softest powders I’ve tried in texture and finish – they have a very melt-in-your-skin kind of feel. Pigment is buildable and noticeable. Highlighters are more like a diffusing powder on my skin. You can wear each shade individually, layered or mix them!

  • Papaya 1972 is a soft but bright peach and light ivory champagne
  • Papaya 1972 High Intensity has a deeper peach and brown under tone with slight shimmer
  • Contrachroma is a soft muted rose brown with a champagne beige shimmer
  • Contrachroma High Intensity has more bronzy brown tones
  • Longitude Zero is a soft cool rose pink with a light pink shimmer
  • Longitude Zero High Intensity is a deeper more intense pink with a more intense pink shimmer

I like Contrachroma and Contrachroma High Intensity the best. Papaya 1972 has a pretty brightening effect on my complexion but I have to apply with a very light hand or else it can turn orangey as it warms up on the skin.

10 Second Eyeshadow

Kosas 10 Second Eyeshadow Review

The 10 Second Eyeshadows are shimmer pigments suspended in a fluid. You simply shake the container to mix up the pigment and then apply with the sponge tip applicator onto the eyes. I think the concept is fun and unique but they aren’t the easiest for me to apply. I think creams are easier to work with, blend with fingers or a brush and layer with powders. These Kosas fluid shadows are nice if you want one wash of color all over the lids and maybe add a liner to complete an easy eye look. I do love the way Globe wears, but on my skin once it’s blended out it becomes a bit more diffused. Lasting power is pretty good with these! I kept the neutrals to try out. There are some other more fun interesting shades in the lineup but I’m rarely wear those colors so I gifted them away to friends who love blues and purples.

Kosas 10 Second Eyeshadow Swatches

Lipstick

Kosas Lipstick Review Vegas, Undone, Stardust, Rosewater

Kosas Lipstick Review Vegas, Undone, Stardust, Rosewater swatches

I think the Kosas Lipsticks are the best thing in their line. They’re creamy and super smooth. Colors are classics that you can wear everyday. Of course I gravitate towards the neutrals but there are some pretty amazing looking reds and plums. Vegas is exclusive to the Kosas website, but all the ones are available at other retailers like Sephora etc. They have different finishes, some are full coverage, others are more sheer but still have good color payoff. They have a slight vanilla scent like MAC lipsticks. Formula is more hydrating but still lightweight in feel and they did not dry out my lips or make them peel at all.

I love that these have a magnetic closure so they snap closed!

  • Vegas is an opaque beige nude cream
  • Undone is a full coverage rose pink
  • Stardust is a sheer pink beige
  • Rosewater is a sheer neutral-cool rose pink

Wet Lip Gloss Oil and Hyaluronic Lip Balm

Kosas Wet Lip Oil and Hyaluronic Lip Balm Review

For hydration and moisture, they have two kinds of lip products. Their Wet Lip Gloss Oil has been featured on the blog a few times before and I think they’re excellent! They have a smooth glossy finish and feel with the most beautiful shimmer finish (except the clear one which is just clear). I love a good shimmery gloss and these are easy to wear.

  • Jellyfish is a clear gloss
  • Dip is a perfect medium beige pink nude shimmer
  • Malibu is the perfect medium pink shimmer
  • Fruitjuice is a juicy plum with shimmer
  • Jaws is the perfect sheer red

They also have a product called the Hyaluronic Lip Balm. There is a clear option and two tinted shades:

  • Rush is a soft pink
  • Pulse is a medium tan brown pink

Both are perfect for that healthy flush of color to make you look like a better version of yourself but still natural. The pigment is medium and definitely noticeable on the lips. They feel hydrating and smooth.

Kosas Wet Lip Oil and Hyaluronic Lip Balm Review

Sun Show Bronzers

Kosas Sun Show Bronzers

The Sun Show Bronzers are really fun shimmery domed bronzers with shimmer. There are three shades and they each have a pearl finish. Light is a light shimmery golden bronze (on me this is like a highlighter). Medium is the best tone for my medium skin to look like a bronzer. Deep swatched very dark on the back of my hand I didn’t think I would be able to wear this even with a light hand so I haven’t tried it. I may try it as an eyeshadow.

They’re super soft and easy to blend out. Pigment is medium but buildable. They melt into the skin beautifully and have a soft silky finish to them. I love the green packaging – it adds a fun touch to these!

I put together six different looks wearing a mix of the colors reviewed above to give you an idea of how they look on the face. You can definitely layer on the blushes or bronzer for more color/pigment. I have a medium tan complexion.

For my base in all photos I’m wearing the Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Foundation in Buff with the Kosas Revealer Concealer in Shade 6. Face is set with La Mer Pressed Powder in Medium. Nail polish is OPI Be There in a Prosecco. Tank by Re/Done.

Kosas review and swatches

The top hits for me are the Lipsticks, Lip Oils and Hyaluronic Lip Balms. I really love the look and feel of the powder blush duos as well! Misses for me are the 10 second eyeshadow and face oils simply because they’re not in the format/formula I usually gravitate towards. I wouldn’t say either of them are bad, I just don’t reach for them a lot and prefer other formulas/finishes.

Bottom line, lots to love with some solid products to explore. I love the classic look of the lipsticks and how they are creamy, naturally flattering in a polished way and easy to wear for any occasion. If you’ve been curious about the line I hope you find this brand overview helpful!

You can find the Kosas line at a few different places online, I’ve ordered product from both Kosas and Sephora.

Wayne Goss Luxury Lip Collection Review

I’m excited to share a look at the Wayne Goss Luxury Lip Collection today with a first impressions review and swatches! As a long time fan of his brushes I was thrilled to receive a package from Beautylish including a preview of his entire lip launch. The items launched on 5/5 and by now quite a few colors have sold out but I expect there will be a restock. I was hoping to get my review up before the launch but I decided to swatch and lip swatch all the lipsticks and glosses and it took me forever! I hope you will find this a helpful resource. A lot of the shades are nude and neutrals – as always they will look very different on you if you have different skin tone than me. I’m very warm and golden/olive. The three products he has in his lip collection:

The High Shine Gloss

Wayne Goss The High Shine Gloss

The High Shine Gloss is available in 7 color options. Three are shimmers and the rest are more like creams. They have a sponge tip applicator with a minty smell. Texture is medium with a cushiony feel. I like that there’s enough density/thickness so they stay put on the lips. There’s a bit of stickiness to them but it’s not uncomfortable or heavy. Pigment varies by color, but in general I would say they run medium-sheer.

  • Tulip is a sheer beige with a hint of sparkle, this one contrasts with my natural lip tone and my lip lines show through, it works better on top of lipstick or a liner
  • Hyacinth is a medium peachy pink cream
  • Cherry Blossom is a medium pink with a hint of sparkle (on me it almost looks identical to Hyacinth, the difference is subtle on me)
  • Petunia is a medium nude pink cream (my lips but better)
  • Antique Rose is a sparkling beige with champagne and rose gold shimmers
  • Hibiscus is a metallic pale pink shimmer
  • Chrysanthemum is a metallic copper rose bronze

Texture is smooth on all the finishes even the shimmers.

Wayne Goss The High Shine Gloss swatches

Swatched on bare lips. Photos taken with a flash. The sunlight kept shifting so there are slight variations in my skin tone as I took them outdoors.

Wayne Goss The High Shine Gloss Lip Swatches

The Luxury Cream Lipstick

The Luxury Cream Lipstick are excellent in formula and among the best I’ve tried! They’re ultra smooth, comfortable, have beautiful flawless pigment and wear beautifully. I think they are just as good as the Tom Ford regular lip color if not better. There are a lot of lighter colors in the neutral nude category. They do look similar at first glance – but if you struggle finding the perfect undertone for a natural lip I think you will appreciate Wayne’s careful selection of colors.

Wayne Goss Luxury Cream Lipstick review

Wayne Goss Luxury Cream Lipstick swatches

Colors include:

  • Camellia is a pale light peachy nude cream with yellow tones
  • Dahlia is a peachy cream
  • Daisy is a light pink beige cream
  • Lotus is a beige peach
  • Magnolia is a cream pink
  • Lily is a perfect muted neutral-nude pink
  • Amaryllis is a medium pink with coral tones
  • Orchid is an orange terracotta cream
  • Carnation is a soft washed blue-based rose
  • Zinnia is a warm but soft red pink berry

Swatched below on bare lips, also taken outdoors with flash. I highly recommend looking at other YouTube or Blog swatches to get the best sense of how these look on different skin tones and lighting. They are creamy and have a subtle natural shine finish (which I love). Lasting power is quite good and while I have not been able to test each shade, I did try Lily for an extended part of the day – it lasted through a bag of chips, 3 cookies and 2 cups of coffee. There was some color transfer but it stayed put an in tact which was impressive.

The Essential Pencil

Wayne Goss Essential Lip Pencil CORRECTED

The Essential Pencils are products I haven’t put to an extensive test but still wanted to share swatches. I only tried two on the lips but in swatching these, they have a smooth non-tugging texture. Pigment is opaque and full. They glide on really beautifully!

  • Vintage Pink is a pale pink, significantly lighter than my natural lip tone
  • Natural Berry is a soft pink
  • Mauve is a warm pink
  • Sepia is a muted pink brown
  • Cinnamon is a dusty red

By the time I finished lip swatching the Lipstick and Gloss my lips felt a little raw. I decided to do swatch comparisons instead of lip swatches next to a few popular colors for reference. I hope this helps you! Left to right for comparisons are Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk, MAC Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare, Stripdown and Whirl, Pat McGrath Permagel Done Undone, Victoria Beckham Beauty Lip Pencils 2, 3 and 4.

Formula-wise the Wayne Goss Essential Pencils have the best smooth glide. There’s no tugging which isn’t usually a deal breaker for me as I apply liner in a feathering motion. I do really like the texture of his lip pencils and will be trying them out more in the upcoming weeks.

Wayne Goss Essential Lip Pencil Swatch Comparisons

Two on a full face including his Luxury Cream Lipstick in Lily and High Shine Gloss in Hyacinth below:

Wayne Goss Luxury Cream Lipstick in Lily and High Shine Gloss in Hyacinth

Wayne Goss Luxury Lip Collection Review Swatches

I hope you found these swatches helpful! I literally just received these so I haven’t been able to test these very long. First impressions are the Lipsticks are really quite phenomenal formula-wise. My favorite colors are Lily and Lotus. For the High Shine Lip Gloss I think the shimmers in Antique Rose are beautiful! I also like the everyday wearability of Hyacinth or Cherry Blossom (both are nearly identical on me so I don’t think you need both).

You can find the Wayne Goss Luxury Lip Collection available at Beautylish. I am hoping they will be able to restock the sold out colors soon!

Many thanks to Beautylish for sending the collection for review.

NARS Summer Bronzing Collection 2020

I have a NARS Summer 2020 Collection haul review and swatches for you today! NARS launched a mini summer collection with bronzers, eye pigments and lip balms. I ordered a few things that caught my eye including:

NARS Summer 2020 Collection Review

San Juan Bronzing Powder

NARS Bronzing Powder San Juan

I’ve loved the original NARS bronzers for years! The newer launches can be hit or miss on the formulas so I limited myself to 1 shade to try in San Juan. It’s a light warm golden brown-peach with a slight hint of shimmer. On my medium olive skin it’s sheer but buildable and warms up the skin. If you are lighter in skin tone than I am this will most likely look like a peachy blush on your skin rather than bronzer. Even on me it’s borderline blush material rather than bronzer, but still nice.

I swatched it next to a few other lighter tone bronzers I have including Tom Ford Soleil Glow in Terra (reviewed here), Fenty Beauty Inda Sun (one of the lightest/coolest toned bronzers I have) and Kosas Sun Show Bronzer in Light (review soon).

NARS San Juan, Fenty Inda Sun, Tom Ford Terra and Kosas Light

Wearing NARS San Juan Bronzing Powder and Afterglow Lip Tint in Laguna, Eyeshadow is Tom Ford Honeymoon Eyeshadow Quad

NARS San Juan Bronzing Powder

I think the San Juan Bronzer is a nice one. It applied smoothly and stayed put all day without budging. The color just didn’t really hit the mark for me in terms of what I was looking for in a bronzer. I do think the Kosas one in Light is similar but a lot more pigmented and shimmery on the skin.

Laguna Afterglow Lip Balm

NARS Afterglow Lip Balm in Laguna

The Afterglow Lip Balms are also favorites of mine so I was excited to see a new color (other shades swatched here and here). Laguna is a sheer brown with a hint of shimmer. Your mileage will vary on how this transforms/looks on your lips depending on lip pigment. On me it turned my lips into a rosy brown color after a few minutes. I really love the way it looks – like a flushed color but bronzey! (See above photo with the bronzer look for how the Laguna Lip Balm looks on me). These are easy swipe and go kind of balms to add moisture and slight hint of color.

New Oil Infused Lip Tints in Laguna and Reef

NARS Oil Infused Lip Tint in Laguna and Reef

I’m a huge fan of the Oil Infused Lip Tints (reviewed here and here) so I knew I had to try both of the new ones in Laguna and Reef. Formula is ultra smooth and cushiony. These have average lasting power for an oil and add moisture as long as they’re on the lips. Once they are off, there’s really not any remaining moisture left. Laguna is a sheer smooth sheer bronze, it has shimmer, but on my lips it pretty much looks clear. Reef is a sheer pink which I thought would also be transparent/sheer, but I actually see a soft pink wash on my lips!

NARS Lip Balm in Laguna Lip Oils in Laguna and Reef

Below wearing NARS Oil Infused Lip Tint in Reef and San Juan Bronzing Powder

NARS Oil Infused Lip Tint in Reef and San Juan Bronzing Powder

NARS Summer 2020 Laguna

Overall some nice additions to the NARS lineup. Everything performed well and I am happy with everything although I don’t think the colors are must-haves based on the other items I own from NARS. I still think the Lip Oil in the Orgasm color is the best one and for the Afterglow Lip Balms I think Dolce Vita, Torrid and Orgasm are my favorite colors.

I bought my picks from Nordstrom and Sephora.

Diptyque Coloring Spring

Diptyque Coloring Spring 2020

I’m so excited to share a look at the Diptyque Coloring Spring collection today. As one of the biggest fans of Diptyque I could not be more thrilled to see some beautiful limited-edition jars for spring. They’re currently exclusive online to Diptyque and (update) now as of May 11th available at Nordstrom! I have a look at each one as I ordered them the day they launched. There are five options in Iris, Geramium Rosa, Freesia, Mimosa and Choisya and retail for $74 each. All of the scents are available in the standard clear glass jars as well.

I know that buying scents without smelling them in person first is always tricky. While I do have a Diptyque counter near me, they don’t carry all the scents that the individual Diptyque stores do so I’m often buying blind. Especially now with everything closed with stay at home orders, everything is online only! There’s no substitute for being able to try in person but I hope this will will be the next best thing to help with some descriptions!

Iris

Diptyque Coloring Spring Iris Candle

Iris a new one for me and I think it will be a new favorite. It’s a sweet iris blossom with notes of violet that has a soft warm powdery feel to it. Throw is good but soft and gentle.

Geranium Rosa

Diptyque Coloring Spring Geranium Rosa

Geranium Rosa is one of the cleanest green scents I’ve ever tried. I’ve burned this one numerous times in the past and it smells like geraniums. Fresh, green, a bit spicy. There are supposed to be rose notes in this one but I can’t detect them very well.

Freesia

Diptyque Coloring Spring Freesia

Freesia is new to me as well and my second favorite in the launch. It’s a well rounded floral that isn’t too powdery or too sharp. It has a soft relaxing vibe to it which I think is going to be the most universally appealing floral.

Mimosa

Diptyque Coloring Spring Mimosa

Mimosa seems to be everyone’s favorite (next to Baies). I love the soft but bright yellow jar – it brightens the mood and makes the whole house smell like a warm honey-like flower. It has a bright feel to it which is hard to describe but has a warm clean feel, almost like velvet but fresh and soft.

Choisya

Diptyque Coloring Spring Choisya

Choisya is another newer one for me. I have burned this in a mini in the past from sets but it has been a while since I tried it. This one is the botanical name for Mexican orange blossom. It has a fresh green feel to it and smells like orange blossom leaves. This smells like nature to me!

Diptyque Coloring Spring Collection

Each candle comes with a coordinating box to match the color of the glass jar. I love the little detail flower prints inside! They add a special touch.

Out of the five my favorites are Freesia, Mimosa and Iris, but all of them are really nice. As a die-hard Diptyque fan these were worth the splurge for me even though they are available in the standard clear glass jars. They brighten the home and lift the mood!

You can find the Diptyque Coloring Spring collection while supplies last online at Diptyque and Nordstrom. They retail for $74 each.

Natasha Denona Haul Review

I have a roundup of some Natasha Denona haul picks I’ve acquired recently! Most were purchased by me with a couple items sent in PR. We have swatches plus thoughts covering these items in today’s review:

Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette

The Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette was launched earlier this year and it’s a super cute mix of neutrals. For those who can’t do the warm eye trend, this has a really nice mix of colors including a shimmery soft bronze, matte camel, shimmery olive/taupe, matte brown and glistening neutral-warm champagne gold. The colors are easy to wear and layer for an everyday look. If you pack on more of the matte brown you can get a more smokey effect. Lasting power and pigment is excellent.

Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette

The Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette is a unique mix of green, olive and pinks. I looked at the @natashadenona Stories Highlights and tried to copy her tutorials with this one. They’re super helpful and easy to follow! I tried to recreate the one with just the pink shades and the olive matte as a liner.

Colors in the palette are a glittery pink/violet/blue top coat, shimmery olive silver blue mix, matte olive, matte warm pink, shimmery light pink. I really love the color mix here!

Mini Bloom Blush

Natasha Denona Mini Bloom Blush

The Mini Bloom Blush is mini but mighty. It’s super pigmented and glowy pink coral with loads of shimmer but you can blend/sheer it out. Even just a little dab of the brush picks up a lot of pigment. If you want something a little less intense but similar in color the NARS Orgasm X Blush is very similar in my opinion. I did swatch comparisons below to other Natasha Denona blushes and shades from a few palettes I thought were similar. Love Glow Cheek Palette

Natasha Denona Love Glow Cheek Palette

This Love Glow Cheek Palette is the first cheek palette I’m not crazy about from Natasha’s line. I really loved the Tan Bronze and Glow and Bloom Blush and Glow SO much, I was excited about this one that launched around Valentine’s Day. Pigment, blendability and texture are excellent with this one. The only reason I don’t like it is I find it too dramatic and intense with the glitter. It photographs BEAUTIFULLY but in real life it has that blinding highlight and glitter. Your mileage may vary depending on your makeup look preference.

Lip Oh Phoria Lip Gloss

Natasha Denona Lip Oh Phoria

Last but not least are three of her Lip Oh Phoria glosses. These are hybrid balm/glosses with a high shine. To me they’re not super hydrating like I’d expect from a balm, but they are definitely not drying. I love mixing and layering these over lipstick or liner. The Nude is a pale milky nude with a tiny bit of shimmer. Mauve is a cool toned nude mauve pink. Duo Chrome Coral is a high shine coral loaded with gold reflective shimmer. I find they last longer than the average gloss on my lips and I just dab a little and blend with my fingers.

You can see Nude and the Coral on my lips if you scroll up earlier in the post.

Overall some lovely launches from Natasha Denona. I really love how she creates unique products and colors. I always look forward to what she’s coming out with next and I love her tutorials on her Instagram page! I really love the new mini eyeshadow palettes as I think the colors are unique. The mini bloom blush is quite intense so I don’t think it will be for everyone. Lip glosses are really lovely but only if you can wear lighter shades and mix them.

I hauled my items from Sephora although some things might temporarily be sold out from the sale. I’m hoping they will restock!

Natasha Denona Love Glow Cheek Palette and Lip Oh Phoria provided for review. Other items purchased by me.

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Hydrating Primer + Concealer Review

April 23, 2020

Armani Luminous Silk Collection

One of my favorite tried and true foundation formulas is the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. It’s one of the best formulas for that natural flawless glow and one I’ve repurchased many times over. I’m so excited to partner with Sephora to give you a closer look two new additions to the Luminous Silk lineup. This year marks the 20th anniversary for the foundation and they’ve added their new Luminous Silk Concealer and Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer. You can find all three available now at Sephora, just in time for the Spring Savings Event (use code SPRINGSAVE):

  • Rouge members save 20% off 4/17 to 5/1
  • VIB members save 15% off 4/21 to 4/29

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Hydrating Primer and Concealer 6.5

Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer

Armani Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer

The Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer is an ultra smooth silky primer. It has a soft peach pink tint but blends into a transparent finish on the skin. A little goes a long way and it glides on easily. Although the foundation is so good I can often wear it on its own, I do find the primer noticeably grips the foundation for smoother longer wear. It’s hydrating but lightweight.

Best Naturally Glowy Base: Luminous Silk Foundation

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 6.5

I’ve featured the Luminous Silk Foundation here countless times – it’s one I wear on a weekly basis for that natural radiant glow. It’s a great everyday foundation with medium buildable coverage. I love that it comes with a pump dispenser and it’s easy to blend with fingers, a brush or a sponge. I alternate between shades 6.5 and 7 depending on how tan I am. They’ve recently added 10 new shades for different undertones and the color range now includes 40 colors. I like this formula because it looks like my skin but better. It evens out the skin, leaves a smooth finish, doesn’t crease or transfer, looks natural. Even in humid warm weather it lasts long on me when set with a powder.

Luminous Silk Concealer

Armani Luminous Silk Concealer 6.5

As a lover of the Armani bases, I was really excited to try the new Luminous Silk Concealer. I found 6.5 to be the best match for my needs. It’s a multi-purpose concealer with caffeine to reduce puffiness around the eyes. You can use it for brightening or spot concealing. It’s quite opaque but very easy to blend with fingers or a sponge. It has medium to full coverage with a natural dewy finish and satiny dry down. I would recommend going with the same shade of concealer as your foundation.

I love how long the formula lasts on my skin. I do set with a loose or pressed powder to keep everything in place. (I really love the Neo Nude Powder.) I hope you found this Luminous Silk review helpful! I highly recommend the foundation for any skin type. It works for a wide range of climate conditions as well for me and I’ve worn it for years.

You can shop my Armani favorites from Sephora below. Have you tried the Armani Luminous Silk or any of the other foundation formulas? What did you think?

Many thanks to Sephora for partnering to sponsor this post. As always all opinions are my own.
