Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette and Holiday Collection Review | The Beauty Look Book

I have a new Natasha Denona haul with her latest launches! As usual she has some stunning new palettes and a new glow highlighter. So many of you are really excited about the Glam Eyeshadow palette and asked for swatches. I’m thrilled to have them up for you today.

Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette | The Beauty Look Book

The Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette is one of her smaller 15 pans similar to her Bronze Eyeshadow Palette versus her larger ones like the Biba Palette. On my skin tone Glam is a neutral-cool palette with a wide range of textures. It has a great mix of mattes and shimmers and in this one she labeled each color for placement such as Center Eye Lid, Outer Eye Lid, Crease, Transition etc.

Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette | The Beauty Look Book

Colors are as follows:

  • Top Row: shimmery rose, metallic taupe, shimmery champagne, soft matte brown, soft chalk matte
  • Middle Row: soft medium matte brown, medium matte pink cocoa tan, deep matte cool brown, shimmery silver, shimmery cool silver
  • Bottom Row: metallic pale gold, medium shimmery brown, shimmery cool champagne, metallic taupe and shimmery champange

Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette swatches | The Beauty Look Book

Texture is smooth and easy to blend. I adore her shimmers and metallic colors – I think they apply so beautifully on the lids and layer on top of mattes in the most exquisite way. Mattes are best for smoking or using all over the lid – they may apply streaky on the arm/hand but blend nicely on the eyes.

I really love this one! If you own a lot of neutrals I suspect you will have repeats in your stash. I do like the convenience of having so many shades in one palette. You can really create a full eye look with the palette. Other similar palettes like Tom Ford Nude Dip or even the First Frost have a similar vibe and tone – but I often have to add liner or a dark matte eyeshadow to line or add depth.

Mini Zendo Eyeshadow Palette

Her new Mini Zendo Eyeshadow Palette is absolutely gorgeous! I love her minis because I find them really convenient and easy to use. I also think she comes up with the most beautiful color combinations. When I first saw it I didn’t know exactly how to use it as the metallic silver/green/taupe threw me off – it’s stunning but I wasn’t sure how to apply it with the other colors. I followed one of her tutorials on her Instagram highlights @natashadenona and found it really helpful for placement and order of application. With some blending and layering I added the green shade last as a topper and it gave the eye so much depth and glow.

I Need A Nude Glow Highlighter

Natasha Denona I Need a Nude Glow Highlighter | The Beauty Look Book

I wasn’t planning on buying this one but I saw it at Sephora and had to have it. Her I Need A Nude Glow Highlighter is a single champagne nude highlighter with a soft candlelit glow. On my skin it pulls warm and gold. Metallic highlighters usually show or emphasize texture on my skin but this one has a smooth finish and makes the skin look almost like glass. Color-wise I don’t think it is the most unique. I found it similar to the one from the Tan and Bronze Glow Palette.

I Need A Nude Lipstick in Andrea

Natasha Denona Andrea Lipstick | The Beauty Look Book

There are two new lipsticks in her latest holiday launch and I opted for the I Need A Nude Lipstick in Andrea. Colors this pale are usually a nightmare for me to wear or pull off. Her tutorials showed it looked pretty on a wide range of skintones so I was willing to try it. I have slightly mixed feelings. Formula and coverage-wise it’s really really good. It has smooth opaque coverage without any streaking or caking. Color-wise it’s a little too pale and light by itself, but for me light colors are always tricky. I applied it by itself below – if I added a deeper liner like MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl or Stripdown and added a bit of gloss I think I could make it work.

Overall I love everything. I think the Glam Palette is a lovely addition to her lineup and if you have been wanting a neutral-cool palette this is a great one. I do think her Mini Zendo Palette can be a bit tricky to apply with color placement but I highly recommend you watch her tutorials on her Instagram Story Highlights – it’s so inspirational with her color combinations and I love watching her technique!

Natasha Denona Bronze Collection

Natasha Denona Bronze Collection Summer 2020

The Natasha Denona Bronze Collection just launched with some of the most beautiful summery bronze shimmers I think I’ve ever seen. She created some truly beautiful colors for this collection and I think everything is just so stunning and unique. In the collection we have:

Natasha Denona Bronze Collection Review

Bronze Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona Bronze Eyeshadow Palette

The Bronze Eyeshadow Palette has 15 colors with a mix of mattes, sparkles and shimmers. This one comes in one of the smaller-pan size options and is priced at a lower price point of $65 (versus the larger 15-pan variations like the Biba Palette or Gold Eyeshadow Palette which retail for $129). Her eyeshadow palettes are on the more expensive side, but when you break it down to price per pan I think her prices are pretty reasonable given the fact you get 15 shades in a large sturdy mirrored compact.

Color-wise I find there is quite a bit of variation among the colors which makes for an endless amount of combinations. I am particularly smitten with the bottom row of shimmers – they have the prettiest mix of colors with a beautiful sheen. It’s hard for me to find a palette where I like every single color – this is one of those palettes. The sparkles in this one are wearable – they aren’t too glitzy or sparkly for me. Mattes are buttery smooth. Shimmers layer and blend beautifully.

Colors include:

  • True Copper – sparkling warm copper
  • Suntan – matte warm brown
  • Sundown – medium yellow brown matte
  • Deep Dive – deep eggplant brown shimmer
  • Rhodium – gorgeous purple shimmer with silvery violet flecks
  • Magma – matte reddish brown
  • High Degree – red copper shimmer
  • Alloy – sparkling bronze shimmer
  • Ridge – matte mustard
  • True Bronze – shimmering bronze gold
  • Gloaming – shimmery red with gold shimmer
  • Palladium – warm pink taupe shimmer
  • Bliss – duo chrome red pink gold shimmer
  • Silk – sparkling glittery champagne
  • Beach – warm matte sand nude

Bronze Cheek Face Glow Palette

Natasha Denona Bronze Cheek Face Glow Palette

The Bronze Cheek Face Glow Palette is a 4-pan cheek palette. To me this one is all about glow. It has two cream colors called Bounce Creams. The Bounce Cream Glow is an iridescent duo chrome opal gold shade and the Bounce Cream Blush is a medium tan shimmer. These have a very soft almost semi-matte feel (similar to the Westman Atelier Eye Pods). They’re creamy but not too creamy. Shimmer is ultra fine and smooth with the creams and give the skin a smooth glow.

The Super Glow Bronze is a shimmery warm bronze. It’s too shimmery to be a bronzer and too warm to be a blush. The Super Glow Nude is a shimmery metallic sandy gold. I think it makes a stunning glow palette for summer. You can wear it on the cheeks or eyes anywhere you want a highlight.

Natasha Denona Bronze Cheek Face Glow Palette

I just applied the colors from the palette on the face without any added bronzer or blush so you could get an idea of how it looks on the skin by itself. For a complete look or everyday wear this is more of a highlighting palette to be rather than a bronzer palette like the Tan Bronze and Glow Palette she launched last summer (reviewed here).

Lip Oh-Phoria Gloss Balms

Natasha Denona Bronze Lip Oh Phoria

There are three new shades of Lip Oh-Phoria Gloss and Balms. Tan Nude is a beige tan with subtle gold flecks (on my lips it turns more milky/peachy). Caramel is a sparkling caramel brown with gold shimmer. Chestnut looks like the perfect color for fall – it’s a deep brown with a hint of shimmer. Pigment and coverage is medium with these. They have a high shine and smooth finish. Similar to the other colors in this formula they have a minty scent and subtle taste. Since they’re balms the lasting power isn’t going to be super long. They’ll fade but they’ll fade nicely.

Natasha Denona Bronze Collection look

As a huge Natasha Denona fan I think the Bronze Eyeshadow Palette is the stand out in this collection. It’s warm but not too warm for me (no matte reds). I think the deeper shades pull the look together. I personally love the new Bronze Cheek Face Glow Palette but I have a slight preference for her original Tan Bronze and Glow. The Lip Oh-Phoria colors are all on the brown side which can be tricky to pull off sometimes. I like the look of Tan Nude although it surprised me because it turned more peachy on my lips than it looked in the tube.

You can find the Natasha Denona Bronze Collection out now. Available at Sephora, Beautylish and Natasha Denona.

Natasha Denona Haul Review

I have a roundup of some Natasha Denona haul picks I’ve acquired recently! Most were purchased by me with a couple items sent in PR. We have swatches plus thoughts covering these items in today’s review:

Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette

The Mini Glam Eyeshadow Palette was launched earlier this year and it’s a super cute mix of neutrals. For those who can’t do the warm eye trend, this has a really nice mix of colors including a shimmery soft bronze, matte camel, shimmery olive/taupe, matte brown and glistening neutral-warm champagne gold. The colors are easy to wear and layer for an everyday look. If you pack on more of the matte brown you can get a more smokey effect. Lasting power and pigment is excellent.

Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette

Natasha Denona Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette

The Mini Retro Eyeshadow Palette is a unique mix of green, olive and pinks. I looked at the @natashadenona Stories Highlights and tried to copy her tutorials with this one. They’re super helpful and easy to follow! I tried to recreate the one with just the pink shades and the olive matte as a liner.

Colors in the palette are a glittery pink/violet/blue top coat, shimmery olive silver blue mix, matte olive, matte warm pink, shimmery light pink. I really love the color mix here!

Mini Bloom Blush

Natasha Denona Mini Bloom Blush

The Mini Bloom Blush is mini but mighty. It’s super pigmented and glowy pink coral with loads of shimmer but you can blend/sheer it out. Even just a little dab of the brush picks up a lot of pigment. If you want something a little less intense but similar in color the NARS Orgasm X Blush is very similar in my opinion. I did swatch comparisons below to other Natasha Denona blushes and shades from a few palettes I thought were similar. The swatches below will show that the new Mini Bloom Blush is the brightest and most pigmented:

Love Glow Cheek Palette

Natasha Denona Love Glow Cheek Palette

This Love Glow Cheek Palette is the first cheek palette I’m not crazy about from Natasha’s line. I really loved the Tan Bronze and Glow and Bloom Blush and Glow SO much, I was excited about this one that launched around Valentine’s Day. Pigment, blendability and texture are excellent with this one. The only reason I don’t like it is I find it too dramatic and intense with the glitter. It photographs BEAUTIFULLY but in real life it has that blinding highlight and glitter. Your mileage may vary depending on your makeup look preference.

________

Lip Oh Phoria Lip Gloss

Natasha Denona Lip Oh Phoria

Last but not least are three of her Lip Oh Phoria glosses. These are hybrid balm/glosses with a high shine. To me they’re not super hydrating like I’d expect from a balm, but they are definitely not drying. I love mixing and layering these over lipstick or liner. The Nude is a pale milky nude with a tiny bit of shimmer. Mauve is a cool toned nude mauve pink. Duo Chrome Coral is a high shine coral loaded with gold reflective shimmer. I find they last longer than the average gloss on my lips and I just dab a little and blend with my fingers.

You can see Nude and the Coral on my lips if you scroll up earlier in the post.

Overall some lovely launches from Natasha Denona. I really love how she creates unique products and colors. I always look forward to what she’s coming out with next and I love her tutorials on her Instagram page! I really love the new mini eyeshadow palettes as I think the colors are unique. The mini bloom blush is quite intense so I don’t think it will be for everyone. Lip glosses are really lovely but only if you can wear lighter shades and mix them.

I hauled my items from Sephora although some things might temporarily be sold out from the sale. I’m hoping they will restock!

Natasha Denona Tan Bronze and Glow Palette Review

Natasha Denona Tan Bronze and Glow Palette Review and Swatches

Natasha Denona recently launched her Tan Bronze and Glow Palette ($55) and it’s summer perfection! It was an easy decision to order sight unseen. She has the best tutorials and sneak peeks on her Instagram page. I think her product reveals are super fun to watch as well. This is a four pan compact with creams and powders. The texture is excellent for the different formulas, pigment is smooth and easy to apply. It has the prettiest finish with phenomenal lasting power. For those who don’t like glitter this one is a win as it has no glitter in it. I think it will suit a wide range of skin tones.

The Tan Bronze and Glow compact is the same size and design as her Bloom and Blush Palette (which I still adore). I really like this size because it’s easy to travel with and also easy to hold. The Tan Bronze and Glow Palette has a similar clear protector over the creams shades so the powder debris doesn’t cross over into the pans.

Natasha Denona Tan Bronze and Glow Palette Review and Swatches

Colors and formulas in this palette include:

  • Glow Cream Base is the perfect neutral champagne tan shimmer, looks ultra natural on the skin, I wish she made this this in a full size option!
  • Super Glow is a shimmery gel powder which has a yellow peach gold metallic sheen
  • Blush and Bronze Powder is a warm bronze matte with pink tones
  • Glow Impact Powder is a metallic pale gold

Colors will differ depending on how light or deep your skin tone is. If you’re fair to light colors will show up more bronzey/golden and if you’re deep colors will contrast more with your skin to look paler. On my medium skin this adds a beautiful bronze and glow in the best way ever.

Overall a really pretty option for summer and even with all the other bronzer and highlighter options for me it’s a must-have. You can wear on both eyes and cheeks. It gives the perfect soft bronze and glow in one. I love layering all the shades together but you can mix and match with your other blushes or just wear a couple of the colors. Lasting power was really good and it stayed put without budging all day. I love that it has a matte shade alongside shimmers.

Natasha Denona Biba Eyeshadow Palette Review

May 5, 2019

Natasha Denona Biba Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches via The Beauty Look Book

Natasha Denona launched her beautiful Biba Eyeshadow Palette ($129) and it’s a beautiful! It’s an all neutral 15-pan eyeshadow palette with a mix of satins, shimmers and mattes (no glitters). It has a very unique powder texture that feels satiny and soft to the touch. Pigment is excellent across the board with very easy to blend textures. Biba pulls neutral but still has a mix of warm neutral and cool neutrals – there are enough colors in here to give you a wide range of complete eye looks. You can find it now at Sephora and Beautylish.

Natasha Denona Biba Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches via The Beauty Look Book

I’ve played with this palette for about a week now and think it’s a beautiful option for those who want a little bit of everything in a neutral palette. Lasting power is really good – stays put on top of a cream shadow base, doesn’t budge and layers beautifully.

Natasha Denona Biba Eyeshadow Neutral Palette

Colors include:

  • Rustic is a metallic bronzey shimmer (LOVE this one)
  • Prairie is a matte mustard brown
  • Coco is a satin matte brown
  • Freckle is a neutral peachy matte
  • Shine shimmery champagne gold
  • Pasha is a matte reddish brick brown
  • Monroe is a shimmering champagne
  • Rayon is a satiny soft pink
  • Buff is a matte satin warm antique pink
  • Tone is a warm brick matte satin brown
  • Seed is a matte chocolate deep brown
  • Tor is a soft matte grey
  • Sculpture is a pale light grey matte
  • Spot is a matte deep black smokey color
  • Tusk is the perfect light beige matte

I swatched the palette and just realized I forgot to include one shade Coco (dark matte brown, third one on top row). I’ll re-swatch larger swatches once I receive my replacement camera flash in the mail (that was the item that broke), but you can scroll down for all 15 shades in the comparison photo.

I did a poll on Instagram stories asking which palette you wanted me to review, this one or the new Chanel. I will have a full Les Beiges review coming up very soon but here are quick side by sides if you want a look:

Natasha Denona Bloom Blush and Glow Palette Review

March 7, 2019

Natasha Denona Bloom Blush & Glow Palette Review and Swatches

Natasha Denona launched a new glow palette called Bloom Blush and Glow ($55 for 13.7 g/0.48 oz, available at Sephora and Beautylish). I ordered this a few weeks ago and think it’s one of the prettiest cheek palettes I’ve seen. It comes in a medium sized compact with four cheek colors. I love the smaller compact size and find the pans are still large enough that I can dip a regular blush brush in the compact easily. (On the nails is Chanel Le Vernis in Jaspe.)

There are two creams and two powders:

  • Glow Cream Base is a sheer peachy champagne shimmer, this is a nice glow product, not too sparkly or frosty
  • Cream Blush is a super pigmented cranberry flush, a little goes a long way but it’s easy to blend
  • Glow Extreme is a extreme glow shimmery peachy champagne highlighter, it has large shimmer particles and is very glowy
  • Duo Glow is a duo chrome peach gold shimmer powder highlighter

All four layer nicely together for the ultimate glow. If you’re conservative on the shimmer you may find Glow Extreme too glowy and sparkly for you. I think it makes for a really nice eyeshadow too. Application is smooth and easy to blend. Pigment is perfect. You can sheer out for a lighter wash or layer for more intense coverage. Lasting power is very good although we’ve had a cold week so I haven’t tested this in full humidity.

Close ups and swatches below.

Overall glowy and beautiful. Compared to other Natasha Denona coral/peachy shades her Duo Glow in Alba is lighter and more golden compared to this palette’s blush. Her Diamond and Blush Palette in Darya is more coral/cool toned while this palette has more warmer tones and more glow/shimmer. I do think The Bloom Blush and Glow is different enough to justify owning if you have the others, although if you’re super conservative on shimmers and glows this will probably be too glowy for you.

Holiday Gift Guide Natasha Denona

Natasha Denona Holiday 2018 Gold Palette, Mini Star + Chroma Crystal Top Coats

November 19, 2018

Natasha Denona Holiday 2018, Gold Palette, Mini Star and Chroma Crystal Metal Bronze + Metal Black Review and Swatches

Natasha Denona’s Holiday 2018 Collection is stunning! As usual she has launched some pretty phenomenal palettes I feel are really unique and different in today’s beauty world. The holiday options have quite the sparkle and glitz. If you can’t do glitter but still want something different and bold for the holiday season I’d recommend opting for the Pat McGrath Opulence Collection instead. I have a look at her new Gold Palette ($129 for 15 shades), Mini Star Palette ($25 for 5 mini shades) and two new Chroma Crystal Top Coats ($28 each) in Metal Bronze and Metal Black.

Natasha Denona Gold Palette Review and Swatches

The Gold Palette ($129 for 15 colors 15 x 0.08 oz/ 2.5 g, made in Italy) is pricey but if you break it down the $8.60 per shade isn’t that bad in my opinion. As always, my recommendation with palettes are to buy if you think you’ll wear or like most of the shades. This has a mix of all kinds of finishes: matte, shimmer, glitter, sparkle.

The nice thing about large palettes like this is you can create a wide range of looks. The downside for me is that they can kind be overwhelming. Quality-wise the colors in this palette perform really well. Everything swatched with very good pigment and color payoff. There will be some fallout with the glitter when you’re applying so you will need to clean up some sparkle on your cheeks. However after applying I found they stayed put on the eyes without transfer. Some of the sparkle shades are better applied with fingers in a patting motion versus a brush.

Natasha Denona Gold Palette Review and Swatches

Natasha Denona Gold Palette Swatches

Colors include:

  • Lime Chrome is a duochrome olive gold
  • Python is a satin teal navy
  • Sparks is a glittering champagne
  • Aria is a matte warm cafe color
  • Cava is a sparkling warm champagne gold
  • Aurora is a metallic teal with gold shimmer
  • Dijon is a mustard matte
  • Oro is a shimmery warm yellow amber gold
  • Log is a matte brown
  • Varis is a shimmering medium brown
  • Brass is a sparkling brass gold
  • Sand Stone is a matte tan brown
  • Alchemist is a shimmery amber gold
  • Teak is a matte brown with warm tones
  • Aurum is a shimmery gold

She has another palette in the mini size called the Mini Star Palette which is supposed to be a small version with select colors from her Star Palette. The formula isn’t quite the same as her full size. Some of the minis feel creamier and slightly sheerer in color payoff but the corresponding colors with same shade name are really close. I think the mini is one of her more wearable options for the season. There aren’t any strong glitter shades with this one.

Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette Review

Colors include:

  • Orion is a blue green brown shimmer
  • Atik is a matte warm pinkish tan
  • Bellatrix is a shimmering peach champagne
  • Earth is a deep matte brown
  • Cosmo is an antique brass sparkle

Natasha Denona Mini Star Palette swatches

Then there are two Chroma Crystal Top Coats in Metal Bronze and Metal Black, both of which are similar to her previous launches but this round the colors have a lot more pigment in the base. Previous options had a more clear base with colored sparkles. The ones for Holiday 2018 are ultra pigmented with finger application. With a brush it’s more sheer but buildable. They do set on the fast side so I recommend applying and blending quickly. My past top coats have since hardened and dried out a bit but it has not impacted color payoff. I’m not sure how these will last with the color – they’re really pretty once you layer and blend them but they aren’t the easiest to apply. I feel if she had made these pressed pigments more along the lines of the Hourglass Scattered Light or Marc Jacobs See-Quins Shadows which are not really creamy but more like pressed powders it would be less prone to hardening. I like the way these look and the color payoff. Metal Bronze is a pretty brown with gold flecks while Metal Black is a deep black grey with silver flecks. I wish the formula was different.

Natasha Denona Holiday 2018 Review and Swatches

Overall the collection has some beautiful pieces. I think the Gold Palette is the standout piece although it’s really expensive and has some shades that are very glitzy – glitzy out of my comfort zone. I do think the teals are easy to wear and layer with the golds which makes for a very unique look. For me the Mini Star and Chroma Crystal Top Coats for holiday are a pass simply because I already own the full size Star Palette and the for the Top Coats I’d rather just wear a cream shadow stick or layer a powder shadow.

To pick the best palette this holiday palettes this season is going to depend on your color preferences. I have not tried them all and I still have the new Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quads I’m eager to start testing. From the ones I have swatched and reviewed I think the easiest one to wear and most conservative is the Charlotte Tilbury Stars in Your Eyes. For those who like reds and pinks but don’t want something too pink, the Urban Decay Naked Cherry is a nice and very wearable option. The ones I feel are most unique are from the Pat McGrath Opulence Collection. The NARS Holiday Provocateur has the most unique palette mix for cooler smokey tones. The Natasha Denona Golds Eyeshadow Palette is unique for a gold and glitz palette with the widest range of options and finishes from you to choose from. It is very well made and the colors perform well.

You can find the Natasha Denona Holiday 2018 collection out now. Available at Sephora and Beautylish.
