Chantecaille Wild Meadows Collection for Spring 2023

Chantecaille recently launched their new limited-edition Wild Meadows Collection for spring. This year they celebrate their 25th Anniversary! The collection has a floral-inspired theme with fresh pinks, pastel tones and some pretty coral shades. The pieces are limited-edition and available now at Chantecaille and Neiman Marcus.

Every item is just stunning from the beautiful packaging to the high-quality textures and beautiful pigments. Colors are fresh and bright. I think this is a collection well worth checking out!

Wild Meadows Eye Quad

The Wild Meadows Eye Quad has four shades including a shimmering pale gold, a baby pink shimmer, metallic warm taupe sparkle and the most beautiful soft matte brown. The only downside to this one is that the pans are extremely small, especially for the price, but the texture and pigment is exceptionally stunning.

Wild Meadows Blush

There are two shades of Wild Meadows Blush in this collection. They have a very smooth texture and apply flawlessly. Apple Blossom is a warm pink and Anemone is a raspberry with a tiny bit of shimmer. Both are beautiful on the complexion and are easy to build. They give the complexion life without looking overdone.

Lip Chic

The Lip Chics are the most beautiful pieces in the collection (in my opinion). If you’re a fan of Chantecaille lipsticks you know the Lip Chic has a really pretty creamy texture, hydrating feel, comfortable finish and buildable pigment. You girls know I gravitate towards neutrals so of course I love Meadow a soft peachy nude. The other two are bright but still wearable. Carpathia is a bright apricot. Crocus is a vibrant raspberry pink – not really a shade I would wear but still pretty.

Overall a beautiful collection with fresh wearable colors for spring. I love that Chantecaille launches new colors that remain true to brand and very different from what other lines launch. The pieces are on the expensive side but the quality of each piece is exceptional. If it’s in your budget to splurge I think you will absolutely love the spring collection.

Pat McGrath launched new palettes in her Love Collection for spring and I’m thrilled to share a look + swatches of all three. The full collection is available online at Pat McGrath along with discounted bundles. Today two of the palettes launched at Sephora.

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Iconic Infatuation

The MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Iconic Infatuation has a mix of soft rose and plum tones. At first glance this color scheme was my favorite but I actually ended up liking the matte palette the most. Colors include:

Candlelight Affair – pale ivory champagne shimmer
Bare Venus – matte dusty rose
Platinum Divinity – complex glitzy metallic taupe silvery plum
Eternal Love – deep matte plum brown
Fleurever Adored – shimmering warm rose plum
Endearment – dusty matte plum

This palette has a lot of powdery kick up when applying but the colors adhered well to the lids. For some reason the matte shades were a bit stiff and swatched patchy on my arm (even with primer) but they applied beautifully on the eyes. On the lids they layer nicely and are easy to blend.

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Sublime Seduction

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Sublime Seduction has all of my favorite coppery bronze tones. I think the color scheme is stunning but find it similar to her previous palettes. I love the shimmer and think I’ll be wearing this during the summer.

Peach Persuasion – matte warm orange
Bronze Fantasy – stunning shimmery bronze
Sable Seduction – deep matte bronze
Honey Lustre – shimmering gold
Burning Desire – matte warm brick brown

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Velvet Liaison

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Velvet Liaison is my favorite of the three. It has perfect matte tones for a really beautiful soft matte eye look. Colors also swatched stiff/patchy on my arm but they blend well on the eyes. Since they are mattes though make sure your eye is well primed or moisturized. Even though this is my favorite I do think this is the most easy to dupe.

Colors include:

Beige Bliss – warm neutral beige
Enamored – matte brown
Plum Provocateur – dusty matte plum
Midnight Mink – deep brown
Barely Veiled – dusty mauve
Voluptuous Rose – matte rose

Quick note that these ended up swatching cooler/more intense on my arm compared to what I see in the palette.

LiquiLUST, FetishEYES, Skin Fetish Blush

Here’s a quick look at a few other items in the collection. The Skin Fetish Blush in Fleurtatious is a repromote. It’s a really pretty soft muted beige pink that is understated and easy to wear.

I ordered one of the FetishEyes in Luna Rose and was pleasantly surprised to find it really wearable. It swatches very metallic and foiled but you can blend it out on the lids. There were a few shades I would have loved to order but they sold out so fast!

Last is a quick look at her LiquiLUST in Nude Cabaret which I have from a previous launch. I think this formula is nice and long-wearing. I’m really not a fan of matte liquid lipsticks as they tend to look dry on my lips, but the color is nice. I reviewed her other shades in this post here.

That wraps up my review of the Pat McGrath Love Collection. I think the colors are beautiful. I do think some of the mattes have a stiffer/harder texture than her other palettes which is probably why they swatched patchy on my arm. On the eyes I had no issue though.

Dior Lips

Dior Addict Lip Maximizers – New Formula + Colors

Dior recently reformulated their Addict Lip Maximizers ($40 each) and I am thrilled with the new formula and colors. Their Lip Maximizer formula has been one of their best selling glosses and according to Dior they’ve reformulated this to have ingredients that are more natural in origin and revamped the colors to include more opaque shades with different finishes in the classic jelly finish, holographic, shimmer and intense versions.

I am a huge fan of the original formula and I’m happy to find the new ones are just as good. To me feel pretty much identical. They have the same smooth texture, slightly minty cooling sensation, subtle plumping effect, medium lasting power. The main difference is many of the colors have better color payoff with more opaque pigment. They still don’t have super long lasting power but they will stay put for several hours. The bonus of the glossy formula is that they fade nicely and evenly so you don’t have a ring around the edges of your lip. I don’t mind reapplying!

Dior brought back a number of their classic colors and added quite a few new ones. Every single color I tried is beautiful. A few of them are on the sheer side so my natural lip shows through. If your lips aren’t as pigmented as mine are the colors will pull more true to tube on you.

I have 18 of the shades. While you can find this new formula at all Dior retailers and counters like Nordstrom, Sephora, Bloomingdale’s, Ulta Beauty etc. some of them appear to be exclusive to Dior.com. I compared a few of the original shades to their new formulation and the colors are almost identical. Pink and Coral are the same. The new Rosewood pulls a little more neutral. The new Holographic Pink has a slightly less duochrome quality. The new Beige has a bit more pigment compared to the original.

Lip swatches below of almost all the shades. I didn’t get to Intense Spice but it pulls true to tube and what you see in the arm swatch. I think the shade range is beautiful and they’ve seemed to launch shades to suit every color preference from neutrals to bolds, shimmers to creams and sparkles too! It’s tough to pick favorites and even though I splurged on so many there are other shades I would have liked to try too. If you’re a gloss girl then you’ll be thrilled with this formula and the color extensions.

If I could only pick 5 they would be: 038 Rose Nude, 26 Intense Mauve, 014 Shimmer Macadamia, 007 Raspberry and 030 Shimmer Rose.

NARS

NARS Orgasm Collection Spring 2023

NARS launched some new additions for spring with their 2023 Orgasm Collection in some stunning pink packaging and I have a review + swatches for you today. The collection was launched early to Ulta Beauty and NARS Cosmetics. It’s now also available at Sephora. There are 5 new pieces including:

The Multiple in Orgasm and Orgasm Rush ($39 each)
Orgasm Four Play Blush Quad ($45)
Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette ($49)

Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette

I’ll start with my favorite item in the collection which is the Orgasm Rising Eyeshadow Palette. This is a stunning palette with 9 shades. It has a good mix of textures and tones. To me this seems like an updated take on their Wanted Palette from several years ago (which I really loved). This palette has:

Hotwired is a metallic champagne
High Speed is a shimmery beige peach with sparkles
Orgasm is a pink gold shimmer
Seven Heaven is a matte soft light brown
Seduced is a medium rosy sparkle loaded with gold and silver and pink flecks
Reckless is a warm satin brown with tiny gold shimmer
Push It is a medium matte warm brown
Faster Pussycat is a deeper copper shimmer
Galapagos is a matte dark chocolate with gold flecks

I love the tones, pigment, color payoff and wearability. It’s warm but not too warm/red for my skin tone. It’s one I can easily see myself wearing this year. It is similar to what we’ve seen from NARS in the past but I still really like this one.

The Multiples

NARS has two Multiple Cream Sticks in the new limited-edition packaging. Orgasm is their classic pink gold shimmer. This one seems to be more emollient in texture than I remember but not dewy. On my skin tone it’s almost invisible. The gold and pink tones almost match my skin (NARS Light Reflecting Foundation in Santa Fe + Sahel right now) so all you see is a slight gold pink sheen.

Since it has a very emollient finish this has minimal lasting power on me. I think it could be used as a nice highlight for special date nights or going out, but it’s not going to be an all-day wear kind of product, especially if you have combo/oily skin.

NARS Multiple in Orgasm

I did another look with their regular Powder Blush in Orgasm which shows up a lot better on me. If you want this tone but no shimmer then I highly recommend checking out the Liquid Blush in Orgasm. This is one of the best liquid blush formulas and I wish they would launch more colors in this!

NARS Multiple in Orgasm Rush

Orgasm Rush is a deeper almost russet color. It has a less emollient finish, almost thinner in texture and better dry down. I’m undecided on this. I’m at my palest right now (almost 2 foundation shades lighter than I normally am) so it pulls a bit orangey. If I had a tan I think I would like this more, however due to the sheerness I’m not sure how well it would show up.

Orgasm Four Play Blush Quad

Last we have a look at the Orgasm Four Play Blush Quad. This has that pressed metallic finish. It’s not as frosty as I had anticipated and on me it did not emphasize texture (huge plus!). It’s a nice intro to the line if you’re new to NARS and the colors blend out nicely on the skin. Love the compact size (easy to fit in my hand) and the pan size is pretty good. Convenient, pretty and glowy.

Colors include:

Swinger pale metallic gold
Orgasm metallic pink gold
Orgasm X deeper pink with gold shimmer
Orgasm Rush copper russet shimmer

However I can’t help but feel this is a boring repeat of what NARS has launched in the past so many times. To me isn’t new or innovative so if you already own a lot of NARS you can safely pass.

That’s my take on the new NARS Orgasm Collection for spring! I think the new eyeshadow palette is a winner. In the Orgasm color lineup I still think the Afterglow Lip Shine, Original Powder Blush and Liquid Blush are the best shades they’ve launched to date.

Charlotte Tilbury Highlighters

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Highlighters

Charlotte Tilbury launched new powder highlighters called the Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighters ($48 each). There are seven shades total – six shades are available at most retailers like Nordstrom, Sephora, Bloomingdale’s, Revolve etc. and one of them looks like it is exclusive to Charlotte Tilbury (Sunset Glow).

I picked up six of the Glow Glide Highlighters to swatch and test. These are powder highlighters that have a very smooth application. Shimmer is finely milled and glowy with medium to rich pigment. I’d say finish is on the more glowy side but it’s easy to blend/sheer out for a more subtle highlight.

At this point I think I have enough highlighters to last several lifetimes, but I think these are really beautiful. I like that there are tones to suit fair, medium, medium tan and deeper skin tones. I don’t know that I’d call any of these must-haves, to me these have a very similar vibe to the current Dior Forever Couture Luminizer Powders but with slight differences in color and undertone.

Colors include:

Moonlit Glow is a pale ivory highlighter on my skin, it has the sharpest contrast on my skin
Champagne Glow is a champagne highlighter, also very pale but a bit deeper
Pillow Talk Glow is a light pearly pink glow
Gilded Glow is a pretty gold shimmer
Bronze Glow is a neutral golden bronze, definitely looks bronzey on my skin, I think it makes a great eyeshadow color
Rose Gold Glow is the closest highlighter I’ve seen to match rose gold, pulls warm on my skin, almost orangey but I think this would look beautiful on deeper skin tones

For my skin twins quick note that I’m a shade to a shade and a half lighter than I normally am. I had to buy a shade lighter in a few foundations because most of them are too dark for me. I do tan easily so I suspect I will get more color soon. For the Charlotte Tilbury foundation I’m Shade 6 now.

Overall I really like the quality and finish. My favorites are Pillow Talk Glow and Champagne Glow although I think I will definitely be wearing Bronze Glow more once I get some more color. I really love the color in Gilded Glow but it’s a bit warm/yellow on me right now. For a more neutral gold I think the Dior Forever Couture Highlighter in Golden Glow is more wearable since it’s more neutral and less yellow. For a less orangey/warm color than Charlotte Tilbury Rose Gold I think you can opt for the Chanel Oversize Highlighter in Or Rose.

Since I love her Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand in Peachgasm I kinda wish she had launched a peachy powder highlighter or a deeper pink to match her Pinkgasm shade. For now I will stick with the wands since I think those colors are perfect.

Holiday Gift Guide Westman Atelier

Westman Atelier The Squeaky Clean Vault

Westman Atelier has some beautiful sets this year. The Squeaky Clean Vault ($228, available at Westman Atelier and Bergdorf Goodman) is quite the splurge with six new shades of the Squeaky Clean Lip Liquid Balm, all exclusive to this set. Today I have a look + swatches.

The six colors include:

Parla – sheer sparkling gold
Biscuit – neutral cool beige
Ma Biche – cherry red
Lou Lou – plum brown
Snowy – sheer sparkling white
Rudey Nudey – perfect nude pink

The Squeaky Clean Lip Liquid Balms are smooth and non-sticky. They have a nice moisturizing feel with a natural glossy look. They adhere well to the lips though without feeling like they’ll slide off. Colors pull on the sheer side in terms of pigment for the lighter and neutral colors. Deeper bold shades have more color payoff.

I really like the set and most of the colors. The lighter shades pull really sheer, especially the two sparkly ones – if they had more pigment or sparkle color payoff I would have absolutely 100% loved it. Parla and Snowy still give the lips that glassy gloss shine which I think is pretty – would have liked to see more pigment.

Whether or not it’s for you depends on if you can see yourself wearing all the shades or if you think it’s worth the splurge. It can be difficult to justify a set if you don’t like all the colors. I think it’s lovely and would make a great WOW gift. That being said if you only like certain shades I think you can find dupes in other lines.
