Cle de Peau Cream Rouge Collection

Cle de Peau recently revamped some of their lip products with the new Cream Rouge Collection and I’m thrilled to be able to share swatches of every single color today! I ordered a handful of shades when they first launched but it was thanks to Benjamin Puckey (follow him at @benjaminpuckey) who was so kind to send all the colors for me to try and swatch for you.

These are available now at Cle de Peau, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and all other Cle de Peau retailers.

There are three finishes in the Cream Rouge Collection ($50 each):

Cream Rouge Shine – opaque vibrant cream liquid lipstick/gloss
Cream Rouge Matte – full coverage mattes with a lightweight texture
Cream Rouge Sparkles – multidimensional gel gloss loaded with sparkles

The formula is exceptional which is no surprise for Cle de Peau. What I liked about these the most is the hydrating finish. I swatched most of the shades on the lips and usually at the end of a lip swatching session my lips are pretty raw with the wiping and re-application. This time my lips felt even better afterwards. Coverage of the Shine and Matte formulas are full-coverage and smooth. Lasting power is very good although they are not budge-proof or transfer-proof. Sparkles have medium lasting-power and run sheer. The photos and swatches cannot do them justice – only in real life can you see the multi-dimensional shimmer and how the light catches each sparkle.

Cream Rouge Shine

The Cream Rouge Shine formula is my favorite. I love a good glossy lip and these are stunning. I would have liked to see more neutrals in the lineup, but those who love color or a bold lip will be thrilled with every single shade.

Cream Rouge Sparkle

The Cream Rouge Sparkles are stunning. They are sheer with a jelly like base but the sparkle is just beautiful I ordered one of each of these and like 303 and 304 the best. There is no gritty texture once applied, they feel smooth and I love how they feel.

Cream Rouge Matte

Last we have a look at the Cream Rouge Matte which is a lightweight airy almost whipped matte. These also offer full coverage and apply smoothly with a flawless finish. There is one neutral which I love Chocolate Cosmos. All the other shades are very bright and bold. They feel very comfortable on the lips.

Overall this is a beautiful launch with exceptional formulas and colors. My favorites are all of the sparkles, Calanthe Orchid, Calliandra, Cordyline and Chocolate Cosmos. At $50 each these are extremely pricey but the formula is top notch after several days of wear my lips do feel more hydrated and smooth.

Chanel Beauty Spring Summer 2023 Launch

The Spring Summer 2023 collection for Chanel Beauty has arrived and I’m so excited to share a look today! The collection has a red theme with new oversized palettes for eyes and cheeks. The items have just launched online at Chanel.com (you can find them if you search products individually, I’ve linked each item below for you) and also now at Nordstrom and Saks.

In today’s review we have a look at the:

Les 4 Rouges Yeux Et Joues Eyeshadow and Blush Palette

This spring Chanel has launched oversized palettes with powders formulated for both eyes and cheeks. There are two varations this season, I have the lighter Les 4 Rouges Yeux Et Joues Eyeshadow and Blush Palette in 957 Tendresse. This has four powders with sheer-medium pigment.

Shades include a light shimmery rose highlighter, a soft tan satin for bronzer/contour, a soft watermelon pink blush and a deeper reddish powder. Powders have a medium texture – not super soft but not stiff. Overall look is soft but colors can be layered.

I like this on the cheeks but also found I could wear on the eyes. The tan shade is just slightly deeper than my skin tone and warms up the skin. On me it’s a barely there kind of color but does add a nice touch of warmth.

I’m wearing the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch Foundation in B30 and B40 mixed. On the lips I am wearing the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm in Light. For the eyes I also added a little bit of the Les 4 Ombres in Candeur Et Experience and Noir Allure Mascara in Black.

Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colors

There are two new shades of the Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colors in Rouge Cuir and Watermelon and they’re beautiful! Watermelon is a bright vibrant pink jelly shade. It has a transparent finish so I used 3 coats to get full coverage. Rouge Cuir is a pretty dusty warm rose with opaque coverage.

Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick

This collection brings us a new Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Rouge Frais. You girls know I’m usually not a fan of the dewy cheek sticks because I live in hot and humid Florida and they usually do not last. This shade however is the prettiest Baume Essentiel I’ve tried. It’s a bright red shimmer in the tube but has a transparent sheer pink finish on the cheeks. I also tried it on the lips and it’s a really pretty shimmery red when used as a lip balm.

Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner

The spring launch features the Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Or Rose. I feel like this may have been a color from an older launch many years ago but am not 100% sure the shade is the same. I think this year’s has a different number and is more of a true rose gold. It’s stunning. As a liner it’s subtle on me but I also tried it as an all over eyeshadow and think it’s just beautiful.

Noir Allure Mascara

Last is a look at the Noir Allure Mascara in Rouge Grenat. I love this mascara formula but red tinted mascaras aren’t really my thing. This formula coats the lashes and is great at lengthening. The red is very pigmented and does coat all the lashes with a reddish shimmer color. I still prefer the classic black shade but if you like tinted mascaras I think this is a fun twist.

Overall thoughts: I love the Les 4 Rouges Palette in Tendresse. I think it’s pretty, wearable and different from what I already own. I think the pink highlighter is really pretty! The Le Vernis in Watermelon is a must for me, I think it will be really fun for spring/summer.

Hermes Rouge Hermes Shiny Lipsticks, Plein Air Complexion Balm and Radiant Powder

Sharing a look at some luxury beauty pieces from Hermes Beauty today! Hermes just launched three limited-edition Rouge Hermes Shiny Lipsticks ($78 each) and I think they’re absolutely stunning. I also have a look at two complexion products that I’ve tested including the Hermes Plein Air Natural Enhancing Complexion Balm ($90), Radiant Glow Powder ($95) and Powder Brush ($126).

The Hermes Plein Air Natural Enhancing Complexion Balm is a natural looking tint with SPF 30 and a dewy finish. I bought the shade 50 Palomino sight unseen and was thankful it ended up being a perfect match. This has a CC cream/BB cream kind of feel to it. It’s semi thick but blends easily and a little goes a long way. Finish is natural and slightly dewy. It’s lightly fragranced with sandalwood and green tea but smells mainly like a sunscreen to me. It is a mineral only sunscreen which is usually hit or miss for me.

Pros are that it looks natural and fresh. I like the coverage. Lasting power is pretty good. I do set with a powder to help make it last though. Cons include the steep price and for my skin type and climate I live in it’s a bit too dewy for my taste. The fragrance does not irritate my skin but I know a lot of you are sensitive to fragranced base products so your mileage may vary.

Before/After

After testing it for several months now I can’t say that I recommend it mainly because of the price. It’s a solid product but I think there are better options on the market that are more affordable with a higher SPF. For something similar in texture and coverage I’d recommend trying the Chanel CC Cream ($55, been loving this for years, swatches here), It Cosmetics CC+ Nude Glow Foundation ($44), Supergoop! CC Screen ($44) or the Armani Neo Nude Tinted Moisturizer ($48).

The Plein Air Radiant Glow Powder is a beautiful highlighter. Also very expensive and easily dupeable. In the compact it appears more peach/rose tone but on my skin the champagne and gold tones pull more prominent. I’m wearing this over the Rose Hermes Blush in Rose Blush (also reviewed here).

This has a beautiful texture and it’s easy to layer. I love the way it looks but cannot say it’s a must-have. Even though the swatch comparisons show that Hermes Mirage is different in undertone (more golden), on the face the differences are really subtle for a champagne highlighter. If this was more true to pan and looked more pink/peach on my skin then I think it would 100% have been more unique and flattering on my skin. It’s a stunning one – just not unique enough to justify the price in my opinion.

I splurged on the Powder Brush not realizing it was priced at $126. It’s definitely not worth the price. I do use it a lot but the Chanel Brush 106 ($60) is half the price and much better in terms of softness. The NARS Bronzer Brush ($38) is also excellent.

Last we have a look at the three new Shiny Lipsticks in Corail Parasol, Beige Croisette and Brun Yachting. I absolutely love these even though they are also incredibly overpriced and sheer. I think the colors are fresh and wearable. They give that natural polished look that is noticeable but not overdone.

06 Brilliant Corail Parasol is a sheer light grapefruit with sparkles. It looks like a candy glaze on the lips with the glossy finish.

10 Brilliant Beige Croisette is a sheer creamy brown beige. It pulls slightly warmer on my lips than what I see in the tube.

22 Brilliant Brun Yachting is a sheer medium-tone brown which I thought would be unflattering. It’s a nice soft brick brown reddish color with almost 90s vibes.

I added a swatch of two orangey lipsticks from Hermes including the Poppy Lip Shine and 35 Brilliant Orange Capucine (limited-edition, reviewed here).

Overall love the new shiny lipsticks but I think I could have definitely passed on the complexion balm, brush and highlighting powder. I hope you found this review helpful if you’ve been looking at any of the new Hermes beauty launches!

The Pillow Talk Collection features nude-pink shades that are universally flattering for everyone. The Matte Revolution Lipstick and Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk are hands down my favorite everyday neutral rose pink tones to wear and I’m always excited to see new extensions in this color theme.

Hypnotizing Pop Shot + Pillow Talk Eye Colors

For the eyes Charlotte Tilbury just launched two new shades of her Hypnotizing Pop Shots and I have the rose pink shade in Pillow Talk Diamonds. These are stunning sparkle toppers in a pressed powder format. The texture is impeccable. These shadows are loaded with multi-dimensional sparkle and tiny glitters yet they adhere remarkably well to the lids and stay put. I like to pat these on with my fingers. The Ultra Violet shade is already sold out, but the exclusive to CharlotteTilbury.com Pillow Talk Diamond shade is still available.

I’ve swatched it next to her Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Palette and Pillow Talk Luxury Palette of Pops, both of which have glitter sparkle toppers. The new Hypnotizing Pop Shot in Pillow Talk Diamonds has more of a rosy plum pink undertone with more intense sparkle than what I see in her other palettes. Also swatched her Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow in Pillow Talk for comparison which is a lovely plum rose on me.

Pillow Talk Blush + Highlighters

For the cheeks her newest launch is the Matte Beauty Blush Wands. I hauled a few and shared a tutorial demo on Instagram a few weeks ago and love them. Pillow Talk is exclusive to her website. It’s a wearable soft matte rose that is easy to blend and layer with a nice natural matte dry down. For a cream/liquid blush these have really good staying power.

Wild Meadows Eye Quad

The Wild Meadows Eye Quad has four shades including a shimmering pale gold, a baby pink shimmer, metallic warm taupe sparkle and the most beautiful soft matte brown. The only downside to this one is that the pans are extremely small, especially for the price, but the texture and pigment is exceptionally stunning.

Wild Meadows Blush

There are two shades of Wild Meadows Blush in this collection. They have a very smooth texture and apply flawlessly. Apple Blossom is a warm pink and Anemone is a raspberry with a tiny bit of shimmer. Both are beautiful on the complexion and are easy to build. They give the complexion life without looking overdone.

Lip Chic

The Lip Chics are the most beautiful pieces in the collection (in my opinion). If you’re a fan of Chantecaille lipsticks you know the Lip Chic has a really pretty creamy texture, hydrating feel, comfortable finish and buildable pigment. You girls know I gravitate towards neutrals so of course I love Meadow a soft peachy nude. The other two are bright but still wearable. Carpathia is a bright apricot. Crocus is a vibrant raspberry pink – not really a shade I would wear but still pretty.

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Iconic Infatuation

The MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Iconic Infatuation has a mix of soft rose and plum tones. At first glance this color scheme was my favorite but I actually ended up liking the matte palette the most. Colors include:

Candlelight Affair – pale ivory champagne shimmer
Bare Venus – matte dusty rose
Platinum Divinity – complex glitzy metallic taupe silvery plum
Eternal Love – deep matte plum brown
Fleurever Adored – shimmering warm rose plum

This palette has a lot of powdery kick up when applying but the colors adhered well to the lids. For some reason the matte shades were a bit stiff and swatched patchy on my arm (even with primer) but they applied beautifully on the eyes. On the lids they layer nicely and are easy to blend.

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Sublime Seduction

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Sublime Seduction has all of my favorite coppery bronze tones. I think the color scheme is stunning but find it similar to her previous palettes. I love the shimmer and think I’ll be wearing this during the summer.

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Velvet Liaison

MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette in Velvet Liaison is my favorite of the three. It has perfect matte tones for a really beautiful soft matte eye look. Colors also swatched stiff/patchy on my arm but they blend well on the eyes. Since they are mattes though make sure your eye is well primed or moisturized. Even though this is my favorite I do think this is the most easy to dupe.

Colors include:

Beige Bliss – warm neutral beige
Enamored – matte brown
Plum Provocateur – dusty matte plum
Midnight Mink – deep brown
Barely Veiled – dusty mauve
Voluptuous Rose – matte rose

Quick note that these ended up swatching cooler/more intense on my arm compared to what I see in the palette.

LiquiLUST, FetishEYES, Skin Fetish Blush

Here’s a quick look at a few other items in the collection. The Skin Fetish Blush in Fleurtatious is a repromote. It’s a really pretty soft muted beige pink that is understated and easy to wear.

I ordered one of the FetishEyes in Luna Rose and was pleasantly surprised to find it really wearable. It swatches very metallic and foiled but you can blend it out on the lids. There were a few shades I would have loved to order but they sold out so fast!

Last is a quick look at her LiquiLUST in Nude Cabaret which I have from a previous launch. I think this formula is nice and long-wearing. I’m really not a fan of matte liquid lipsticks as they tend to look dry on my lips, but the color is nice. I reviewed her other shades in this post here.

That wraps up my review of the Pat McGrath Love Collection. I think the colors are beautiful. I do think some of the mattes have a stiffer/harder texture than her other palettes which is probably why they swatched patchy on my arm. On the eyes I had no issue though.

Dior Lips

Dior Addict Lip Maximizers – New Formula + Colors

Dior recently reformulated their Addict Lip Maximizers ($40 each) and I am thrilled with the new formula and colors. Their Lip Maximizer formula has been one of their best selling glosses and according to Dior they’ve reformulated this to have ingredients that are more natural in origin and revamped the colors to include more opaque shades with different finishes in the classic jelly finish, holographic, shimmer and intense versions.

I am a huge fan of the original formula and I’m happy to find the new ones are just as good. To me feel pretty much identical. They have the same smooth texture, slightly minty cooling sensation, subtle plumping effect, medium lasting power. The main difference is many of the colors have better color payoff with more opaque pigment. They still don’t have super long lasting power but they will stay put for several hours. The bonus of the glossy formula is that they fade nicely and evenly so you don’t have a ring around the edges of your lip. I don’t mind reapplying!

Dior brought back a number of their classic colors and added quite a few new ones. Every single color I tried is beautiful. A few of them are on the sheer side so my natural lip shows through. If your lips aren’t as pigmented as mine are the colors will pull more true to tube on you.

I have 18 of the shades. While you can find this new formula at all Dior retailers and counters like Nordstrom, Sephora, Bloomingdale’s, Ulta Beauty etc. some of them appear to be exclusive to Dior.com. I compared a few of the original shades to their new formulation and the colors are almost identical. Pink and Coral are the same. The new Rosewood pulls a little more neutral. The new Holographic Pink has a slightly less duochrome quality. The new Beige has a bit more pigment compared to the original.

018 Intense Spice – creamy warm spice (this is the only one I didn’t swatch on lips)
019 Shimmer Peach – warm coral peach with gold shimmer
026 Intense Mauve – stunning mauve with a bit of shimmer
030 Shimmer Rose – pretty shimmery pink
038 Rose Nude – perfect nude pink cream

Lip swatches below of almost all the shades. I didn’t get to Intense Spice but it pulls true to tube and what you see in the arm swatch. Also wearing their Natural Bronzer in Shade 05, Backstage Blush in Pink and Eyeshadow Palette in Wild Raffia. Sweater from Jenni Kayne. Nail Color is Static Nails Liquid Glass Nail Lacquer in Mademoiselle.

I think the shade range is beautiful and they’ve seemed to launch shades to suit every color preference from neutrals to bolds, shimmers to creams and sparkles too! It’s tough to pick favorites and even though I splurged on so many there are other shades I would have liked to try too. If you’re a gloss girl then you’ll be thrilled with this formula and the color extensions.

If I could only pick 5 they would be: 038 Rose Nude, 26 Intense Mauve, 014 Shimmer Macadamia, 007 Raspberry and 030 Shimmer Rose.
