The Chanel Fall 2022 Makeup Collection with new shades of Le Vernis Nail Color and Rouge Allure is here! They launched a beautiful color palette of neutrals and everything is stunning. I’ve split my review into two parts: I have my picks of the Le Vernis today and Rouge Allure Lipsticks swatches will be coming in a separate post. The new lipsticks are phenomenal.
There are 12 new shades of Le Vernis in neutral nude shades. I have 11 of them swatched for you today. All the colors applied smoothly with a full coverage finish except one of the shades (Denude is semi-sheer). I like that they have nudes with different undertones. Some are more beige/yellow/brown and others have a more pink undertone.
New colors I have are below (I’m missing 957 which I’m undecided about purchasing). I received 5 in PR and the others I ordered online. All shades are swatched with 2 coats.
937 Harmonie
939 Singularite
941 Spontane
943 Enigme
945 Emotion
947 Desir
949 Denude
951 Originel
953 Essentiel
955 Inspiration
959 Infinite
937 Harmonie is my perfect creamy nude, a bit lighter than my skin tone for contrast
939 Singularite is a pretty pink nude, almost matches my skin tone if it were pink (this is deeper than Organdi)
941 Spontane mid-tone warm pink
943 Enigme is a warm pink, almost looks like a warm pink brown brick color
945 Emotion is a rose berry neutral
947 Desir is a blue-based deep blackened eggplant color
949 Denude is a semi-sheer beige
951 Originel is a cool-toned light-medium camel brown
953 Essentielis also brown, a bit warmer and deeper than Originel
955 Inspiration is a gorgeous chestnut brown cream
959 Infinite is a perfect deep chocolate
All the colors performed well and I think they are all gorgeous. From a distance Desir and Infinite look almost identical, Desir is deeper and darker, Infinite has a bit more warmth. Based on how much I like Inspiration I think there is a very high chance I’ll also order the 957 color. If I do I’ll add the swatch to this post.
Chanel added new complexion products to the Les Beiges lineup and I’ve been head over heels obsessed! I have a full review + looks for you today! I’ve been wearing the foundation every day since I bought it and think it’s going to be my go-to summer base.
I ordered these the second they launched online at Chanel.com and most of the blushes sold out almost immediately, luckily they have restocked all the colors online at Chanel!
Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch
There are 16 shades of the new Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch ($65 each for 20 ml/0.7 fl oz). I’ve been really loving the new foundation and my usual shade B40 is a great match. The formula has micro-droplet pigments suspended in a gel formula. This newer formula offers beautiful medium coverage with a lightweight feel, dewy finish and impressive lasting power.
It gives the skin a plump fresh glow in a healthy kind of way and I prefer it over the original Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint which I found a bit too sheer for my taste.
below: new vs original
I’ve used this for over a week now and found the best way to apply it is to pump onto the back of the hand and mix with a brush or sponge. Breaking up the pigments and mixing them into the gel formula before applying to skin is the best way to get smooth flawless coverage.
The Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch comes with a tiny brush and at first glance I suspected it would be a throw-away for me (it’s itty bitty!) but tons of you messaged me telling me it’s intended for concealing. I ended up trying it this week and was pleasantly surprised to find it perfect for blending cream product under the eye area or around the nose.
A look applying it on bare skin (moisturized first), ribbed tank by Reformation
There are 6 shades of the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Blush ($50 each for 15 ml/0.5 oz) and I was thrilled to see these finally landed in the US. After testing all six shades I have mixed feelings. They’re beautiful but they take some time to apply and blend.
These blushes have the same micro-droplet formula as the foundation. Chanel calls it MicroFluidic Technology. The pigments break apart and melt into the skin upon contact to give you a healthy glow. Application is best if you pump on the back of your hand and blend with a brush. I’ll take a brush and apply straight to the face and then blend with fingers. For me applying with just fingers doesn’t give enough color payoff. With just a brush I can’t blend around the edges well.
I absolutely loved the first color I tried Intense Coral which has great color payoff for a sheer natural looking blush. For the other shades my thoughts below:
Light Pink and Light Peach are so pale and sheer they did not show up on my skin tone (I’m the equivalent of MAC NC35, all my foundation shades in this post here)
Warm Pink has a bit more color but it still barely shows up, just gives me a natural almost skin-like glow
Intense Coral is the best I tried, it’s a gorgeous coral shade
Deep Apricot has good pigment, but the color pulls orangey on my skin, it’s not bad, but orange just isn’t really my color
Deep Bronze is a sheer brown, it has enough pigment to show up, looks very natural
Out of all the blushes I like Intense Coral and Deep Bronze the best. I really like the concept of a fresh glow, but I just wish the three lighter shades had the same level of pigment as the deeper colors.
Bottom line: I love the new Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch and the Water-Fresh Blush in Intense Coral. The foundation has held up remarkably well on my skin even in hot humid weather (when set with powder, which I always do). If I had one negative thing to say about these it would be that they’re pricey for the size. Granted I’ve been doing some demos and swatching with these, but I’m nearly 1/3 of the way through the foundation. I would have loved it in a larger size just like the original version.
The Les Beiges Illuminating Oil is a multi-use dry oil for the face, body and hair. It has a clear base with golden shimmer suspended inside. Once you shake the bottle the shimmer floats inside. The oil has a subtle scent similar to the Les Beiges powders. The shimmer is hard to see unless direct sunlight or lights hit the skin. Once the light catches the shimmer you can see the skin has a subtle sun-kissed glow.
The shimmer will transfer to clothes (or furniture). As with any shimmer body product I think it’s fun to wear on the arms or shoulders for a night out. Or on the legs too!
In natural light it looks like a glow like a regular body oil. In the sunlight you can see below on the left leg with oil there is a subtle glow/shimmer vs the right side (bare leg).
Left side with oil vs right side bare leg
While the oil is formulated for face and hair too, I’ve only tried it on the body.
Les Beiges Oversize Healthy Glow Sun-Kissed Powder & Kabuki Brush
The Les Beiges Oversize Kabuki Brush is a luxurious splurge and I love it. It’s soft, plush and super sized so you can easily use it on the chest or shoulders if you want to bronze up the body area. It comes in a little black pouch – similar material to the ones you find with the eyeshadow or blush compacts.
There are three new powder bronzers this season in a supersized compact and I think they’re so fun. The Les Beiges Oversize Healthy Glow Sun-Kissed Powders have an ultra soft powder texture different from the other Les Beiges powders. This one is softer with a subtle luminous glow. I haven’t experienced any hard pan issues (like you might with the original matte ones) and it’s softer in texture compared to the luminous glow ones (ones with the embossed horizontal stripes).
Sunshine – Light is the lightest color. It almost matches my skin tone and just adds a flesh-toned glow on my skin. I would be curious to hear if fair toned readers find this light enough for them!
Sunkiss – Medium is my best bronze, has a warm golden finish to it.
Sunbath – Deep is a deeper bronze

Swatch comparisons
The formula is so good and it blends into the skin beautifully. I hope they will add more deeper tones or a neutral/cool option in the future. Looks below wearing the Chanel No 1 de Chanel Foundation in B40 and the Les Beiges Natural Eyeshadow Palette in Intense, each look with a different lip.
Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream (new shade 392)
Last is a look at the newest shade of the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in 392 Soleil Tan Medium Bronze. This is a nice in between color and works perfectly for me. It does pull on the warm size but it’s not too warm. Texture is creamy and pigment is medium. Formula performs the same as the other two shades which I really like. I hope Chanel will continue to expand the color range! I like to apply it with the Brush No 101 but any cream product brush will work.
I also put the face swatches side by side for reference below:
Overall some beautiful additions to the Chanel Beauty lineup. I really love the new oversized powder bronzers and the large kabuki sized brush is really fun. I am glad they’re expanding the color range and I hope they continue to do so in future collections. You can find the collection out now at Chanel.com.
Chanel has launched the new Summer Nails Collection with six new shades of Le Vernis ($30), a new La Base Camelia ($30) and L’Huile Camelia Hydrating and Fortifying Oil ($32). Every single color is absolutely beautiful for summer. The Chanel team sent over the shades for review and to me they’re so perfect, I ordered backups (they’re THAT good!). The colors are available online at Chanel.com.
New Summer Nail Colors
There are 6 new Le Vernis Nail Colors inspired by the Sky, Sun and Sea. Chanel did an incredible job with everything from the shade undertone, opacity and smooth finish. Two coats is needed for all the shades. Only one of them applied a little streaky with the first coat but it smoothed out 100% without any issues with the second coat.
Rose Coquillage 925 is a perfect coral peach pink
Blanc Ecume 927 is a pure stark white, but still manages to have a bit of warmth so it doesn’t look like white out on the nails (your mileage may vary)
Pastel Sand 929 is a soft peach with that secret shimmer some Chanel nail polishes used to have, it has subtle gold sheen, but on the nails it’s more of a cream
Moon Shell 931 is the perfect lilac shade for summer, it has the perfect undertone to be flattering and not too pastel/white
Cap Corail 933 is a gorgeous bright orange coral
Sea Sea Green 935 is a really fun pale green
I really wanted to do a nail wheel swatch comparison to other Chanel & Hermes shades because I know so many of you will ask. I cannot find any extra wheels in my beauty closet but will try to get some and update this post in the next week. For now here are swatches of all six shades. Skintone I’m a Chanel B40/B50. I have been in the sun with a couple boat, beach + kayaking days so I’m starting to get my tan back.
All six side by side:
New Nail Care
I’ve been a huge fan of the Chanel Le Gel Coat and Le Top Coat. Their previous base coat was nice but not great (in my opinion). The new La Base Camelia is a really beautiful one that hydrates, protects and smooths. I think it’s a really nice formula but I still like the OPI Natural Base Coat for a more affordable option. At this time it seems like they’ve discontinued the original base coat as the new La Base Camelia is the only one listed on Chanel.com now.
The new L’Huile Camelia Hydrating and Fortifying Oil is a camelia oil that comes in a squeeze tip applicator. The tip looks like it could be a sponge but it’s not. It has holes to dispense product. A little goes a long way so you don’t need a lot to cover and hydrate. I’ve only used it a couple times so far so I haven’t tested it long enough to speak to the long-term effects. I like it though. It makes the nails look and feel hydrated. Mine get super dry with the sand, sun, salt etc. I think it will be one I’ll use up entirely.
That wraps up my Chanel Summer Nail roundup! I really think every single shade is perfect. Sunglasses in the post are the Butterfly Sunglasses I hauled a few months ago. I’ll link my reel below if you want to see them in action on the face. You can order Chanel sunglasses online at Chanel.com but I’ve also spotted them in store at places like Neimans, Nordstrom and Saks.
The Terry Beach Bag is another splurge I did while in Miami a few months ago. I bought it at the Chanel boutique and it comes with a pouch and beach towel. They also had it in Black and Navy. I think by now there are other variations in stores too. I’ll link my unboxing/reel below on this one. So many of you asked for a link, unfortunately Chanel does not sell their handbags online. If you have a Chanel sales associate you have worked with they may be able to locate it for you.
What do you think about the Chanel Le Vernis nail colors? I’m not sure if they’ll be available at other retailers or of they’re a Chanel.com exclusive. At this time each shade has the “exclusive” label on the website. If you have your eye on any colors I’d recommend ordering soon. The nail colors usually sell out quickly!
Chanel launched their new Rouge Allure L’Extrait ($55 each) which is their first refillable lipstick ($40 for the refills). I saw the collection earlier this month in Miami and hauled 6 of the 20 colors in the new launch. The Chanel team also sent a selection of colors so I had a few more bolds to share! They are available now online at Chanel.com.
A closer look in one of their beauty boutiques in the Brickell City Center below!
The Rouge Allure L’Extrait is one of the best high-pigment lipsticks I’ve tried. They are ultra creamy, smooth one swipe wonders with a comfortable hydrating feel. Formula adheres nicely to the lips (almost hugs them!) and stays put remarkably well. No bleeding, sliding, creeping!
These come in a slim black case with the pop up end. They are tiny for the price and since these are refillable the cases aren’t labeled on the bottom. If you have more than one you will have to pop open each lipstick to check the shade. The shade names are in tiny print on the gold tube casing which is hidden once you insert it into the base.
You do need the full case to use the lipstick. There is a click component in the base of the refill portion that allows you to twist it up. Without it you cannot twist up the lipstick.
There are two neutral colors, a few pinks and a wide range of reds, orange shades and bolds. For the red lipstick lover you will really love this launch because they’ve thought of every variation, brightness and undertone of red! For the neutral lip lover (like me) you will still find a couple of nice lighter options. I hope they add more neutrals!
Colors I have:
812 Beige Brut is a perfect flawless beige
814 Beige Imperieux is a medium coral peach
818 Rose Independant is a pretty rose pink
822 Rose Supreme is a medium cool rose
824 Rose Invincible is a deeper rose pink
828 Brun Orgueilleux is a plum brown
832 Rouge Libre is a blue red
862 Brun Affirm is a brown pink red
Below swatches on the lips below! Quick note that most reds look REALLY red on my complexion. Also wearing:
My favorites of course are 812 and 814. I’ve already made a sizeable dent in 812 so I’m happy to have a refill on hand! Sunglasses featured are the Butterfly Sunglasses style. They were quite a splurge but I love them! You can see them in action in my Reel here too.
The new Rouge Allure Velvet La Comete lipsticks are beautiful! Most of them far surpassed my expectations. They’re a smooth, weightless luminous matte with a slight hint of shimmer. Pigment is medium but layerable. I like all of them all with the exception of one shade which I found terribly patchy. The colors have a classic vibe, some may feel they’re more fall-winter colors. I do think there are a few that are neutral-enough to wear year round. The bolds are more classic colors I think you can wear for date nights, or if bolds are more your style.
These come packaged in the classic Rouge Allure lipstick case but the ends have an embossed star which is supposed to be the good luck symbol for Gabrielle Chanel.
On the arms/hands the pearlescent quality is more noticeable, but on the lips the shimmer translates into a subtle luminous quality – not really shimmery, but not fully matte either.
108 Terre D’Etoiles is a gorgeous wearable brown pink
118 Bois de Rose Astral is the perfect kind of medium rose pink I’ve been looking for for AGES!
128 Rose Eclatant is an electric warm red
138 Rouge Vie Radiant is a deeper red with cool tones
148 Rouge Cosmique is a classic red
158 Brun Solaire is a red brown
168 Pourpre Etoile is a plum
178 Brun Celeste is a sheer blackened plum with silver sparkle, this is the only one I found patchy
Lip swatches below of each color on bare lips, also wearing:
Next we have a look at the two Blush Comete Soft Glow Blushes. They have a stripe embossed texture and a star on the surface. It’s not quite an overspray because it takes a few uses and brush swipes before the star design disappears. I really loved the texture and finish of these! On my medium tan skin tone Peche Cosmique is almost a highlighter, it’s pale on my skin and adds a soft diffused pale glow. Corail Etoile is a pink coral with a subtle shimmer to it. Both have a subtle sheen but they aren’t frosty or too shimmery.
Swatches of the whole collection below
Bottom line: Excellent quality, beautiful colors, lovely textures. Solid A+ (except for one of the lipsticks). That being said there are lots of new launches coming out, the new Rouge Allure L’Extrait Lipsticks just launched online and I’m excited to try the new formula! Colors look brighter and more spring-summer like to me.
Have you tried anything from the Chanel La Comete line? What did you think? Available at Chanel.com.

I hauled a few items from the latest No 1 de Chanel Skincare collection and have a review with some thoughts to share today! The lineup has products with their Red Camellia extract and oils to refresh and hydrate the skin. You can find the collection now at Chanel.com and Ulta Beauty. What I hauled:
The No 1 de Chanel Revitalizing Foundation is a fluid illuminating foundation with sheer-medium coverage. It’s very lightweight with a nice glowy finish. On its own it’s very glowy but I liked that it wasn’t greasy feeling. It has a plumping smoothing effect on the skin with the Red Camellia Oil. Finish has medium lasting power even when set with a powder. Since it’s dewy/luminous adding a powder on top will cancel out the shine and glow with most formulas. I found the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder added on top helped set and tone down the shine but still allowed the glow to show through.
I picked B40 and BD41 and my perfect shade match now is BD41. I also picked up B50 for summer.
Overall feels and looks nice on the skin. If you have oily skin it may be too hydrating for you. Right now it works for me but in the summer months I suspect I will gravitate more towards the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation or CC Cream.
There are six shades of the Revitalizing Lip and Cheek Balms. I picked three to try knowing that there would be a chance I would not like these on the cheeks and I was right. These are luminous tinted balms. Applied with the fingers you will get a more lightweight tint but if you apply them with a lip brush you will get more pigment.
I have mixed feelings about these. They’re not bad, the quality and performance is quite good. But they are too dewy for my personal taste on the cheeks and I found they had no dry down which makes them have a sticky texture. They have a more sticky/tacky feel compared to the Baume Essentiel sticks but have the same amount of glow/shine in the finish.
On the lips they’re more comfortable and easier to wear but I would have preferred something in a twist up stick format instead.
Healthy Pink is a medium nude pink color, applied on lips (with lip brush) + cheeks
Wake-Up Pink is bright coral pink on lips + cheeks
Lively Rosewood is a mauve plum (on lips + cheeks)
No 1 de Chanel L’eau Rouge Fragrance Mist and Revitalizing Serum-In-Mist
The last two items I hauled are my favorite! The No 1 de Chanel L’eau Rouge Fragrance Mist was a huge surprise for me. It has a soft refreshing soothing kind of scent to it. To me it’s hard to describe, it has a similar vibe to the Hydra Beauty skincare line and also smells like some of the Shiseido skincare line. Chanel describes it as:
“Opening with an energetic burst of citrus and red berries, the scent unfurls into a heart of jasmine and rose, the iconic signature of the House’s fragrance, along with comforting iris and musk notes.”
To me this is a must-have but I know scent is so personal it might not be for everyone. It’s currently sold out at Chanel but still available at Ulta and I am ordering a backup.
I also really adore the No 1 de Chanel Revitalizing Serum-In-Mist. It’s a bi-phase formula with Red Camellia Oil and camellia water for a dewy refreshed mist of moisture. The oil is noticeable on the skin but it’s still lightweight. If you don’t like the emollient feel I’d recommend their Hydra Beauty Essence Mist instead for a more lightweight feel.
Overall some nice pieces in the collection. I think the foundation is beautiful but it’s not my favorite simply because I prefer something with more coverage and something less dewy. The stand outs are the L’Eau Rouge and Revitalizing Serum-In-Mist. I like the concept of infusing makeup with skincare.
