Givenchy Beauty Loves Prisme Libre Foundation, Concealer, Setting Powder and Blush

I’ve been really loving Givenchy Beauty these days and thought I’d do a roundup review featuring some things I’ve tried and loved from the Prisme Libre line for the complexion.

Base Products

Givenchy Prisme Libre Glow Foundation N280 and Concealer C305

The Prisme Libre Glow Foundation and Hydrating Radiant Creamy Concealer are both in heavy rotation these days. It took a few tries to find my best match but I’ve been loving the Glow Foundation in N280 and Concealer in C305.

The Prisme Libre Glow Foundation has a lightweight texture that is easy to blend with medium coverage. It’s similar in concept to the NARS Light Reflecting Foundation but the Givenchy’s texture is not as thick making it easier to blend with a more comfortable feel and finish. There is a very slight amount of oxidation on this as it sets but it pretty much stays true to color from when you first apply.

The Prisme Libre Hydrating Radiant Creamy Concealer is pure love. I swatched a few in store and could have used a few different shades but C305 works for my under eye area to brighten and even out the skin. It has a creamy feel and is really easy to blend. I like that it doesn’t settle into fine lines. It doesn’t cake or crease on me. The applicator is cushiony and picks up a good amount of product so you don’t need to keep pumping the tube.

Setting Powder

Givenchy Prisme Libre Setting Powder

For setting the Prisme Libre Loose Setting Powder is one of the best loose powders I’ve tried. It’s finely milled and sets to blurred perfection. I’ve tried 3 shades based on your requests. I first picked up Shade 4 Mousseline Acidulee which is described as best for medium skin tones. It works well even though the green and lilac color correcting shades can be a bit intimidating. I don’t personally need color correcting but it’s the only shade right now for medium skin tones.

I also tried Shade 3 Voile Rose and Shade 5 Popeline Mimosa. I can make them work depending on what base I’m using. I think in the winter months I can definitely use Voile Rose without it looking too light. Most of the time Popeline Mimosa is a bit too dark/tan but I tan easily.

Prisme Libre Loose Powder Blush

Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder Blush

Saved the best for last! I think the Prisme Libre Loose Powder Blushes are so fun. They will definitely take a bit more effort to apply compared to a compact powder blush but I don’t mind at all. These come with a little puff that you can dab onto the cheeks. I prefer using a brush since it mixes the colors better when you swirl and apply. The puff is workable but with the way the loose pigments disperse into the lid sometimes I end up getting uneven application and patches of some colors show up a bit blotchy.

I posted a video demo on Reels to show the color in action. I would say pigment varies depending on how dry/oily your skin is and if you have a cream blush underneath.

When I have a fully powdered matte face the powders pull a bit lighter. When there is even just a slight amount of oil or cream on my skin the colors darken a bit and more pigment shows up. You can probably see the slight oxidation/darkening of Shade 2 on my reel a bit better.

I am wearing different lips to match each blush, but the rest of the look breakdown includes:

I don’t have much to report on the lips from Givenchy. I used a number of lipstick shades in the past but I think a lot of the formulas have since been reformulated or discontinued. I did try a few of the Rose Perfecto Tinted Liquid Balms but was a bit underwhelmed. They’re nice but not extraordinary (in my opinion). They just launched the Le Rouge Interdit Cream Velvet Lipstick which I have ordered and will review.

If you have any favorites please let me know in the comments!

Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm

May 14, 2020

Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm

Givenchy recently launched their new Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm ($36 each) and I’m completely obsessed! I hauled a few shades from Sephora including 001 Perfect Pink, 30 Vital Glow, 23 Solar Pink, 17 Nude Chill and 14 Nude Soul. These are smooth cushiony tinted liquid balms that have a very smooth feel. The balms have shea butter, cranberry oil and pink pepper extract. They’re not weightless as they are balmy but they feel comfortable on the lips, are nicely hydrating and have a floral fruity sweet smell.

There is a very subtle plumping effect but it seems to be very natural and I didn’t notice any tingle on the skin.

Pigment is sheer-medium on these. It’s natural but color is visible. There’s one color-shifting shade 001 Perfect Pink which is similar in concept to the Dior Addict Lip Glow. The rest are tinted balms that don’t shift in color once applied. I think the Liquid Balm is much better than the original twist up stick Le Rose Perfecto Balms. I reviewed them a little over a year ago and hated them – they applied on me so patchy! These Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balms have much better application with the color payoff.

Colors have names and numbers, on the actual tube label there are just the numbers:

001 Perfect Pink doesn’t always look the same on me. Sometimes the pink is a softer pink, other times it turns into a vibrant flushed pink color. (Also worn here.)

Bottom line love! These make for some really lovely tinted lip balms. They’re the perfect hybrid of a balm and gloss to me. If I had to compare the texture of the Givenchy Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balms to another product I would say they have a similar feel to the Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Gloss, but just not as shiny and slippery feeling. Lasting power is pretty good – I found they stayed put as long as I didn’t touch my lips to any food or drink. Hydration seems to last on the skin even after they’ve faded.

I bought mine from Sephora. Have you tried these yet? Do you have any favorites from Givenchy Beauty?

Luxury Lips With Givenchy Le Rouge

November 6, 2019

Givenchy Le Rouge Lipstick

I’ve been testing out some luxury lipsticks from Givenchy in the Le Rouge Classic formula alongside their new Le Rouge Deep Velvet and Le Rouge Night Noir options. Given that the Classic is such an iconic formula I cannot believe it has taken me so long to try them out. I’ve teamed up with Givenchy Beauty to give all three formulas a test. You can find them at Sephora ($38 each for 3.4 g/0.12 oz). They’re also available at a discounted price during the Sephora Holiday Bonus Event (now through 11/11) if you’re a beauty insider!

Each lipstick formula has a special case that coordinates with the formula finish. The Classic has a black leather casing, Deep Velvet has a deep red plush velvet case and Night Noir has a fun sparkling glittery black case.

Le Rouge Classic

Givenchy Le Rouge Classic

The Le Rouge Classic is my personal favorite of the three. It’s your classic luxury lipstick with a semi-matte soft satiny finish. Pigment is phenomenal and offers smooth full coverage with a single swipe but isn’t heavy. It feels comfortable and hydrating on the lips (it contains hyaluronic acid for moisture). Lasting power is excellent and stays put for hours without creasing or budging. I was sent three colors to test: 103 Brun Createur is a warm rose pink, 304 Mandarin Bolero is a bright coral cream, 333 L’Interdit is a classic deep red.

Le Rouge Deep Velvet

Givenchy Le Rouge Deep Velvet

The Le Rouge Deep Velvet is a modern matte with a lightweight velvety soft texture. It has a very smooth matte finish and is super comfortable on the lips. It doesn’t feel dry or thick. This is now ranked in my top 3 favorite matte lipstick finishes. I put three colors to the test in 10 Beige Nu which is a cool toned pink nude, 33 Orange Sable is a hot bright coral, 42 Violet Velours is a perfect soft plum. With this formula you also get full smooth coverage with one layer – it’s a one-swipe wonder!

Le Rouge Night Noir

Givenchy Le Rouge Night Noir

Last but not least is the Le Rouge Night Noir which comes in six color options. These are sparkly deep colors you can wear alone or on top of lipstick. It will deepen any lipstick you layer it on top of. There are tiny flecks of micro sparkle in these but there is no gritty texture. They’re 100% smooth and glide onto the lips with a shiny finish. 01 Night in Light is a deep black berry with glitter. 05 Night in Red is a deep reddish glitter with slight plum tones. I think Night in Red is going to be fun for holiday – especially if you want to wear a color that isn’t neutral but isn’t too bright.

Out of the three I think the Classic formula is my favorite and if you’re looking to gift one to a friend this is the one to go with! You can find all three formulas out now at Sephora. Have you tried this lipstick formula yet? I’m still new to the line – any other favorites you think I should try out?

On My Radar

On My Radar / New in Beauty

May 13, 2015

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here are some new releases that are on my beauty radar this week.

1 / Dior has released a Peter Philips Collection on Dior.com inspired by the Cruise 2015 show. The two nail polishes in NYC Peach 130 and BKLYN Pink 560 caught my eye along with the Diorette Addict 179 Lipstick. I ordered both nail polishes and will share swatches as soon as they arrive.

2 / With warm weather and sun I’m on the hunt for a good sport sunscreen. Most sunscreens irritate my skin with the exception of Chanel UV Essentiel SPF 50 and Clarins (the one I use has been discontinued), but they aren’t sweat proof for outdoor sports and are prone to stinging the eyes with the tiniest bit of sweat. I have my eye on the Jack Black Sun Guard SPF 45 (which is supposed to be water resistant), Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen Face Cream and First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair® Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40. Do you have any recs for a good sport sunscreen for sensitive skin?

3 / Marc Jacobs Beauty has released 18 shades of Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer which have replaced their original Sheer and Full Lip Vinyls. I’ve been playing with these for a few weeks now. First impressions = thumbs up, they give the lips a smooth cushiony feel. I will have swatches and the full review next week.

4 / L’Occitane has launched their Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balms which are inspired by the peonies sustainably grown by Jean-Luc Rivière in the foothills of the Vercors Mountains of Provence. Each tinted lip balm is enriched with shea butter and three of them have a colored tint. Review soon!

5 / Burberry Beauty has six shades of Lip & Cheek Blooms. I have Rose, Orange Blossom and Poppy shown above which were sent to me for review. I haven’t had a chance to play with them yet but the colors look really pretty in the pots.

6 / Charlotte Tilbury has launched her Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Shadows in the US. I have high hopes for these but haven’t ordered any of the colors. I’m trying to narrow down my picks to 2 or 3 colors! If you’ve tried these what did you think? These are available now at Net-A-Porter, Nordstrom, Beautylish, and Charlotte Tilbury.
7 / Givenchy has a new lipstick called Le Rouge-À-Porter. There’s something striking about the long sleek silver tube that makes these look incredible. I’m trying to resist the urge to order sight unseen as online stock swatches make it difficult to see what the colors really look like.

8 / Last but not least, Chanel Les Beiges has started to trickle in. I saw it in store at Saks Fifth Avenue, I still haven’t had a chance to properly play with the summer collection but I have high hopes for the nude nail polishes. It’s also online now:
