Chanel Holiday No 5 Makeup Collection

Chanel Holiday 2021 No 5 Makeup Collection

I finally have a look at the Chanel Holiday No 5 Makeup Collection! This season I ordered a few pieces from Chanel.com. I had my eye on quite a few of the holiday sets but was surprised how fast they all sold out! Holiday has been out for a while now but in case you still wanted swatches and my take keep reading! I also have a quick look at the Black Friday Set at the end of this post.

Les 4 Ombres No 5

Chanel Les 4 Ombres No 5

This year’s holiday quad is the Les 4 Ombres No 5 ($65). It has the classic No 5 bottle embossed on each shadow’s surface. The colors are soft and easy to blend. I found pigment to be pretty good although the two pale golds/ivory shades are really similar on my eyes. I wish they had added a bronze or taupe shimmer in place of one of the lighter shades as I think it could have tied the look together. The palette itself is gorgeous, but colors aren’t entirely my vibe. I think it’s missing that warmer shade to make it wearable for me.

Shimmers have the most beautiful sparkle to them though. Almost like fairy dust!

Ombre Premiere Laque

Chanel Ombre Premiere Laque 27 Or Ambre and 17 Or Noir

I hauled both Holiday Ombre Premiere Laque shades ($36 each) in 27 Or Ambre and 17 Or Noir. I think the Or Ambre is STUNNING! I love the color and shimmer and it blends out to lovely all over wash without disappearing. The darker shades have been tricky for me to work with and holiday is the same. The Or Noir is nice for a smoky eye look but it takes careful blending to make it work for me. The extra time it takes me makes it an easy pass. I would rather use a smoky deep brown or black powder shadow and blend it out. Lasting power on these is very good though!

Rouge Allure

Chanel Holiday 2021 Rouge Allure No 5 Collection

For this holiday all the shades are variations of red in the Rouge Allure Lip formula and in the holiday spirit decided to I try three of the shades: Rouge Allure in 191 Rouge Brulant is a warm pink red, 147 Emblematique is a bold classic red and 157 Legendaire is a plum red.

I like the plum one the best! Formula is smooth, comfortable, long-wearing and luminous. Color-wise, it pains me to say this but I feel like the options this year are boring. I wish they would consider bringing back some of the old glossimer shades in the new Rouge Coco Gloss formula. Colors like Equinoxe, Seashell, Blizzard etc would have been fun for holiday! If you’re a neutral lip lover like me I still think Or Beige from Holiday 2020 is one of the best shades and it’s still available online (I just ordered a backup). Below wearing the holiday collection with lip swatches:

Fluide Enlumineur in Or Ivoire

Fluide Enlumineur Or Ivoire

Chanel launched a new liquid highlighter in Fluide Enlumineur ($48) in Or Ivoire and I think this is the star of the collection. It has a sheer subtle finish like the Les Beiges Highlighters (reviewed here) but with a little more bigger shimmer particles that have a more reflective sheen. I love this on top of the cheek bones. It is sheer so your mileage may vary depending on how you like your highlighters. I am considering ordering a backup since it’s limited-edition and I think the color is so lovely.

Fluide Enlumineur Or Ivoire

Fluide Enlumineur Or Ivoire swatches vs Les Beiges

I’m wearing it in this post with the Joues Contraste Blush in Jersey. My foundation shade is the Chanel CC Cream in 40 Beige.

Le Vernis in 913 Rouge Intemporel

Chanel Rouge Intemporel Le Vernis

Last I have a look at the Le Vernis in 913 Rouge Intemporel ($28). This is a classic red cream. It’s a one-swipe wonder, but Chanel has so many beautiful reds already. If you already own a lot of reds I think you can safely skip this one.

Sublimage Le Coffret Fondamental

Chanel SUBLIMAGE LE COFFRET FONDAMENTAL Set

Most of the sets have sold out online but the Sublimage Le Coffret Fondamental ($570)* is still available! This is the ultimate splurge gift in skincare with their Redefining Serum (designed to tighten and firm the skin) along with a limited-edition Massage Tool (quite hefty!). I have not tried the serum but I love the Sublimage line and am really excited to be able to try this out.

Chanel Les Beiges Swipe and Glow

Chanel Les Beiges Swipe and Glow Set

For Black Friday Chanel will be releasing their Les Beiges Swipe and Glow Set ($77) which includes the Baume Essentiel in Sculpting (swatched here) and Les Beiges Healthy Glow Lip Balm in Medium (swatched here and all shades swatched here). This was available as an exclusive to Nordstrom a while back but sold out in a day. I was lucky to get it back then and if you missed out you can Pre-Order it now online at Chanel.com. It is supposed to officially launch online on Friday.

Overall the Holiday Collection offers quality well-made pieces that perform true to Chanel’s standards. I love the extra embossed detailing on the eyeshadows and lipstick caps. Stand out to me is the Fluid Enlumineur Liquid Highlighter.

If you’re like me and missed out on all the holiday sets, keep an eye out for Cyber Monday. They have 2 sets available in the black sparkle tweed pouches. Also Spring Collection will be launching in a few weeks! I already have some of the product and cannot wait to share it with you! Review, swatches and everything will be up as soon as it launches online.

Did you check out the Chanel Holiday collection this year? What did you think? You can find everything available online at Chanel.com.

A good purse mirror that lights up makes a huge difference for those on-the-go! I love both the Riki Cutie Portable Lighted Mirror ($60) and the simplehuman Compact Makeup Mirror ($80, mirror is 3x magnified).

The Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag ($38) is one of my best buys this year. They launch seasonal colors and I think the Mulled Wine and Pink Savannah are really cute!

A DIY mani set is always fun and Olive and June has a lot of great sets to pick from. I love that you can customize some of them too! The Mani Weekender has all of the essentials for an at-home manicure. They also just launched The Press-On System which I’m excited to try!

Glowing Beauty Looks for the Holiday Season

November 22, 2021

Holiday Makeup Looks with Dior

Now that the holiday season is in full swing I’m excited to share some holiday looks featuring some new beauty tries from Dior. New bronze and plum tones launched in the Dior Backstage Line at Sephora and I think they’re perfect for a glowing look.

Dior Backstage Plum + Bronze Makeup

Backstage Face and Body Foundation

Dior Backstage Foundation in 3N

A long-wear natural looking base is essential for me this time of year. I want something that stays put, feels lightweight and lasts all day. I love a number of Dior foundations but my go-to this holiday will be the BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation (my shade is 3N).

For extra coverage and brightening I love the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer (my shade is 2.5N). It’s the one I’ve been reaching for non-stop to help with dark under eye circles. It makes me look more alive and awake. Love the creamy opaque texture that’s easy to blend. Doesn’t cake or crease. 100% love.

New Backstage Makeup Shades: Bronze + Plum

For color Dior launched new colors in the Backstage lineup in Bronze (more natural) and Plum (more glam). If you want a polished look for the holiday, definitely check these out.

Dior Backstage Bronze Makeup

The BACKSTAGE Eyeshadow Palette in Bronze Neutrals is a 9-pan palette. It has a creamy base color you apply all over the lid as a primer. I love that it has a mix of shimmers and metallics with a soft blendable texture. The golds add a nice glow with a brightening effect that I love.

Dior BACKSTAGE Eyeshadow Palette in Bronze

Dior BACKSTAGE Eyeshadow Palette in Bronze swatches

Dior also added a Bronze Lip Glow and Bronze Lip Maximizer to compliment the eyeshadow palette and I love them both. The Bronze Lip Glow has a soft gold look in the tube but it’s color enhancing and on my lips it gives me a soft flushed pink glow with a subtle sheen. The Bronze Lip Maximizer is a stunning sparkling copper bronze. It has a smooth finish (no texture even with the shimmer). I love it alone or layered on top of the Lip Glow.

Dior Backstage Makeup Plum

For a more glam look the Plum color palette has some nice neutral-cool tones. The BACKSTAGE Eyeshadow Palette in Plum Neutrals has a mix of pink, gold, plum and grey. You girls know I gravitate towards bronze tones and neutrals, but I really love the purples in this one!

The Lip Glow and Lip Maximizers in Plum are both stunning. They look ultra deep in the tube but on the lips they give a more sheered out plum look. The Lip Maximizer is more of a true plum while the Lip Glow gives my lips a more flushed stained plum look.

Nude Look

Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick in Nude Look

For the neutral lip lover I can’t rave enough about the Rouge Dior in Nude Look. It’s been my go-to neutral nude rose lip this year, love that it has a soft velvety finish.

Last I have a look at the Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet and Lip Glow Gift Set. It’s perfect to gift to the beauty lover or yourself. The Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet has a really pretty floral vibe perfect to lift the mood and spirits.

If you’ve been looking at the new Bronze and Plum colors I hope you found this roundup post helpful! You can find my entire beauty look at Sephora. Also wearing the Diorshow Maximizer 3D Triple Volume Plumping Lash Primer + Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara, Rouge Blush in Rose Montaigne, Forever Natural Bronzer in Shade 5.

What’s your go-to look for the holiday season? Do you go for something natural or go full glam?

You can’t go wrong with a cozy throw or blanket and I 100% love Barefoot Dreams! Also love Marshall Speakers and I have the Uxbridge Speaker in my home office. I own both brands and use them weekly. A cute cheese board + knife set is a no-fail gift! And I also love the Williams-Sonoma Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar. Olio Santo is another favorite. I’ve used them for over a decade!

Two things I use on a regular basis are water bottles and tumblers. I own and love both the Lululemon Water Bottle and Yeti Tumblers. I think either make for great practical gifts people will actually use. Andrew bought me these Jaybird Vista2 Headphones recently which I really love. I have small ears that are sensitive and I really like that these have interchangeable ear gels that fit my ear shape/size without hurting them. They come with a charging case and the battery life is very good!

Nordstrom Holiday Gift Ideas for the Hostess + Home

I’m excited to share a Holiday Gift Guide today with some cute finds from Nordstrom for the Hostess and Home. There are so many fun seasonal scents this time of year for candles, shower gels, hand soaps and diffusers! For the new home owner or for the hostess you can’t go wrong bringing a chic candle (or set), fancy hand washes, room sprays or diffusers.

Nordstrom Holiday Gift Ideas for the Hostess + Home

NEST

NEST Holiday Sets Mini Candles and Diffuser

Nest has some beautiful options I think have excellent throw and festive notes. I love their Festive Votive Candle Set ($48) with 3 votives in Holiday, Birchwood Pine and Blue Cypress & Snow. The Festive Petite Diffuser Set ($54) is super cute! There are a few variations and I ordered the one with Birchwood Pine, Holiday and Spiced Orange and Clove. I got this as a gift but will probably order one for myself too.

Holiday Gift Ideas for the Hostess + Home Nest, Diptyque, Jo Malone

JO MALONE

Jo Malone White Moss and Snowdrop Candle

Jo Malone always has beautiful holiday options. I literally want them all but opted to try the White Moss and Snowdrop Candle ($74) which is a beautiful soft delicate scent. It’s hard to describe but it’s fresh, moss-like with a white floral vibe. This is the perfect holiday scent for those who don’t like pine or gourmand scents in their home. I think their Pine and Eucalyptus is a classic for holiday. They have it in a Scent Surround Diffuser ($105) and Room Spray ($74) too.

MOLTON BROWN

Molton Brown Holiday Cracker Bath and Shower Gel Set

Molton Brown has the best hand soap sets and mini shower gel sets! I think these are versatile for any age and style. Their Holiday Cracker Bath and Shower Gel Set ($25) makes for the perfect stocking stuffer. They also have a Men’s Cracker Set ($25) and if you want to splurge the Stocking Filler Collection ($50) has 10 minis.

I love their hand soap sets. The Citrus & Fruity Hand Trio ($75) is a beautiful gift set option. I also love their Orange and Bergamot Hand Duo ($55).

AESOP

Aesop Adventurer Roll Up Set

Another great brand for hand care is Aesop. I love their sets especially during the holiday. Anyone can use some extra love and care for their hands these days and I love their Adventurer Roll Up Set ($67) which comes with their Resurrection Rinse Free Hand Wash, Hand Mist and Aromatique Hand Balm in a canvas rolled pouch.

You can’t go wrong with their hand soap. I swear by their Resurrection Hand Wash ($39), also available in their Advocate Set ($105).

DIPTYQUE

Diptyque Sapin Candle Holiday 2021

I’ve saved my favorite for last with Diptyque! I look forward to their holiday scents every year and I think the design this year is one of the most stunning! I love the festive design and the full-size candles come with a gold lid this year. Sapin ($42- 78) is their classic smoky pine I think everyone should try. There are two other scents which are lovely in Biscuit (smells like a gingerbread cookie!) and Flocon (floral). Love their Candle Set ($126) which is a trio of the small holiday candles.

Diptyque Holiday Candle Set Trio Small 2021

Last but not least if you’re looking for a splurge gift to impress, the large Baies Candle ($195 for 21 oz) comes in a beautiful matte vessel with 3 wicks. Their Hourglass Diffusers ($195) make for a beautiful accent piece with great throw that you can control when you turn the hourglass around. Their latest addition for holiday is their Glass Reed Diffuser ($190) which comes in a few different scent options. The strength of this one is pretty potent and you can buy the refills separately.

Diptyque Baies Large Candle, Reed Diffuser and Hourglass Diffuser

I still love the Best of Baies Set ($135) which has a small candle, mini room spray (love) and a scented oval.

Sephora Sale Haul Picks | The Beauty Lookbook

Bath, Body + Hair

Fresh Sugar Body Scrub, Rice Sake Bath, Christophe Robin Set

I’ll start with my favorites for the bath and hair styling!

Fresh Rice Sake Bath ($82) has returned and I could not be more thrilled. I am 100% a bath person and this is one of my favorite bath soaks. It doesn’t bubble up but you put 1-2 capfuls (or as much as you want) into the bath and soak. It has such a relaxing therapeutic feel and I truly feel a difference after using this. I am debating ordering a few more before the sale is over because it’s so expensive.

Fresh Body Sugar Body Polish Exfoliator ($67 for 400 g) is another favorite of mine. This is a hydrating scrub with real brown sugar crystals and oils blended into a body scrub. It has an oily moisturizing finish. I love this because it smells like a citrus blend of sugar and lemon.

Christophe Robin Perfect Hair Gift Set ($53, $74 value) has a full-size Cleansing Purifying Scalp Scrub and mini Regenerating Hair Mask. I had forgotten about the scalp scrub and am so glad to have it again. It’s great for cleansing the scalp without stripping it. I do think if you have ultra fine hair though you may find it challenging to rinse out.

T3 Aire Brush Duo

T3 Aire Brush Duo ($179.99) has been on my radar for a few weeks now and I thought this sale was the perfect time to buy it. Unfortunately, it has sold out online at Sephora but I’d recommend keeping an eye out for it at other retailers like Nordstrom, T3, Ulta etc for upcoming Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. Full review to come soon but I love it. I wish this was available last year because I would have asked for this for Christmas instead of the Dyson Airwrap Styler (which I love but still can’t get over how expensive it is).

  • Pros: Multiple heat settings and air flow options, gives my hair an ultra smooth blowout, interchangeable brushes, suitable for fine hair with all the options.
  • Cons: Price and will not cut down on dry time. The instructions say you need to rough dry your hair with your current favorite hair dryer to about 80% before you use this tool. To me if that’s the case I’d rather just go with the Dyson because the cost of a regular hair dryer + blow dry brush will amount to about the same. Although you can always just towel dry or air dry your hair first.

I still think the Amika Blow Dry Brush is a great option, especially in the Blowout Buffet Blow Dryer Set ($99). The T3 is definitely built better with more options, but the Amika is a great product that will get the job done. I find the Amika brush has more power/force even.

Huda Beauty

Huda Beauty Haul Picks

I have a few Huda Beauty picks from a while back along with a few new tries. The GloWish Multidew Vegan Skin Tint ($37) is a base I picked up over the summer. A few months ago I was a lot more tan and Shade 06 Medium Tan was a good match but I knew my skin would lighten for fall/winter. I also bought 06 Medium which is actually too dark for me now because this tint oxidizes/darkens. I like this mixed with another foundation or tinted moisturizer. By itself I find it too glowy and heavy looking for everyday although it does not feel heavy (if that makes sense).

GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder Foundation in 05 Medium ($33) is a really nice powder foundation with a luminous glow I find wearable and not over the top. I also find this oxidizes a little so I will need to order one shade lighter. For me the trick to making sure my powder foundation does not look cakey is to apply with a loose brush and also to layer on top of a tinted moisturizer or sheer foundation. If I apply on moisturized/primed skin I often find the pigments adhere too much to the skin and makes it look heavy. I like this although I don’t think it will be for everyone.

GloWish Soft Radiance Bronzer ($31) in Medium 02 and Tan Light 03. I am wearing Medium in this post and I love these. These have a soft satin finish with a tiny bit of glow. (Also available in a mini size.)

GloWish Cheeky Vegan Blush ($21) in Happy Peach and Caring Coral are pretty peachy blushes. The lighter shade Happy Peach is a little too light in color for me but I can make it work by layering both shades. Sometimes it’s nice to have a sheer wash of subtle color on the cheeks versus something that pops. Formula is soft, blends easily, lasts long. I hope they add more colors!

Huda Beauty Look

Sephora Haul Lip Picks Huda, Buxom and Tarte

Wearing Armani Luminous Silk Foundation + Huda Beauty GloWish Tint in Medium, Soft Radiance Bronzer in Medium + Cheeky Blush in Happy Peach, Armani Lip Power 103, NARS Mini Palette in Laguna

Eye Makeup

NARS Unwrapped Mini Eye Palettes

I picked up all three NARS Unwrapped Mini Eyeshadow Palettes ($25 each) in Orgasm, Laguna and Dolce Vita. I love these because they have all the colors you need for a full eye look in a mini palette form. So far I’ve only tried Laguna and I love it enough to order another one. It has a beautiful mix of bronze, gold, brown, mattes and shimmers. They are incredibly tiny but to me these are the perfect vacation palettes – packable, won’t take up a lot of space, enough for an entire eye look!

NARS Unwrapped Mini Eye Palette in Laguna

I also ordered the Anastasia Beverly Hills Primrose Palette ($55) and have mixed feelings. I think I need to play around with it more. Overall quality and pigment is phenomenal. Shadows are like one swipe wonders and easy to blend. I’m just not sure the colors are for my skin tone. The palette runs fairly deep and warm even though there are some cool tones mixed in.

Anastasia Primrose All In One Face & Eye Shadow Palette

Anastasia Primrose All In One Face & Eye Shadow Palette

Lip Picks

Armani Lip Power Picks

I hauled a lot of lip products I had on my wishlist! The Armani Lip Power ($38) is a really nice formula! It’s a satin finish long-wear and it almost has a velvety finish when you swipe them on the lips. I hauled neutral colors and love them all, although the 500-range shades I picked don’t appear as cool-toned/rose as the stock swatch photos. They still ended up working for me but I was expecting some mauves or pinks but I think it could just be my skin and lip undertone.

Armani Lip Power Picks

Other picks include the Tarte Maracuja Lip Tints ($19 each) in Rose and Grapefruit which are great wearable shades. The Huda Beauty Silk Balm Rose Quartz ($21) which I love (it’s what I wanted the Tom Ford Sunlit Rose Balm to be on me). Buxom Crown Jewels Plumping Lip Gloss Set ($25) love these colors!

Summer Fridays launched their Lip Butter Balm Trio ($48) with their Clear, Vanilla Beige and Brown Sugar (new). This unfortunately sold out already at Sephora but you can still find it at Summer Fridays, Revolve and Net-A-Porter.

From Charlotte Tilbury I picked up her Eyes to Mesmerize in Pillow Talk (excited to try, but I do think Rose Gold is still my favorite), mini Filmstar Bronze and Glow Duo ($29), Jewel Gloss in Rose Jewel ($32). I also picked up a few more of the Dior Lip Maximizers in Ultra Pink and Plum.

Miscellaneous

I did pick up the two new Natasha Denona Glam Face and Eye Palettes ($59 each) but have not had a chance to try them yet. I tried Fenty Butta Drop Whipped Oil Hydrating Body Cream Mini ($22) and will 100% be buying the full size. It’s smooth, creamy and smells nice and fruity. The Tom Ford Mini Soleil Neige Body Oil ($34) also made it to my order which I think will be nice for winter!

That wraps up my Sephora haul and first impressions of some of the things I tried! If I had to pick my top 3 favorites that I hauled so far it would include:

  1. T3 AireBrush Dryer
  2. Fresh Rice Sake Bath
  3. NARS Mini Palette in Laguna
