Happy Friday! Quick roundup today of three warm-toned eyeshadow palettes that some of you have been curious about. I’m more of a neutral lover when it comes to shadows although I do love warm bronze and golds and soft peachy shades too. The warm eyeshadow trend has been super popular for a few years now and I’ve learned to embrace it. There was a day I though I’d never wear an orange or warm brown shadow but I’ve found with some layering they can make some really nice eye looks.
Today I have a review and swatches of three palettes including the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palette in Scandalust, Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat and Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette. Also shown in top photo is a miniature Louis Vuitton perfume, Wayne Goss Brushes #7 and #4 from his Anniversary Set Volume 2, Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Blush in 410 Corail Naturel.
A quick look at them all in direct sunlight where you can see the shimmer a bit better:
Up first is the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palette in Scandalust. I’ve had this one for a while since the new palettes launched. My go-to is still the neutral option Glambition (review and swatched here) for a perfect everyday kind of look. Scandalust is a lot warmer but still very wearable for me. I like to mix the shades from both palettes sometimes. Scandalust has ultra smooth rich pigment that feels like velvet. Pigment is really good and easy to layer.
Shades include from left to right:
- Hot Pants is a soft shimmery cream
- At the Office is a medium mauve-nude matte
- Cause a Fuss is my kind of shimmering peach with champagne shimmer
- That’s Why is a matte brown
- They Call Her is a shimmering copper orange
- Little Miss is a matte plum brown
- Scandalous is a wine pink red matte

Next is the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat. I’ve always thought that the Urban Decay matte shadows in their Naked Basics and Naked2 Basics Palettes have been among the best. The Naked Petite Heat also has excellent texture and pigment although some of the shades aren’t quite as pigmented as the other two. The color payoff is still really really good with smooth application. Alone it’s a bit too warm for me but I like to mix in a little from Naked Basics to neutral things out a little. The soft mattes are perfect layering and blending shades for days where you feel your eye color might be too neutral or cool. The warmth adds depth and life to the look.
Shades include:
- Inhale pale ivory shimmer
- Vibrate light-medium beige
- Hot Spell soft warm brown
- Wild Thing matte orange
- Heist matte warm brown
- Strike deep cocoa matte

Finally the Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette which is probably he cutest eyeshadow palette I have ever seen! It’s miniature size with tiny pans. This one has excellent color payoff on all the shades. It has a mix of mattes and shimmers with no glitters (yay!). It is very warm and alone too warm for me to wear. I do like it for layering with other palettes though. To some I know this may be too complicated but I find for the most part I’m layering shadows anyways so I don’t mind pulling from a couple palettes.
Colors from left to right:
- 175CM Guava is a matte soft brown
- 176M Apollo is a metallic deep red
- 177 CM Dirty Mars is a matte warm brown
- 178M Sun Beam is a metallic warm gold
- 179M Halo is a sparkling ivory champagne shimmer
Overall thoughts are that the quality, pigment, color payoff, blendability and lasting power on these palettes are all excellent. That being said, Scandalust is the only one I can wear on it’s own. The other two I need to layer with others but for me the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat is just what I need to warm up an eye look.
In terms of comparisons to other warm-ish palettes, I find the NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette to be more wearable for me although it’s a different kind of warm. It’s got a warm rose vs a warm orange theme. The NARS NARsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette is the perfect warm neutral palette for me as it has a wide range and includes enough neutrals for me to layer with warm colors. I also find the Pat McGrath Eyeshadow Palette in Bronze Ambition to be more in the warm-neutral category which I really adore.
For those who want to know which eye brushes I like the best, a comprehensive roundup of my favorites in my Favorite Eye Makeup Brushes and Tools post.
You can find the three palettes out now at all counters and online.
Marc Jacobs available at Sephora, Neiman Marcus and Marc Jacobs Beauty.
Urban Decay available at Nordstrom, Sephora, Ulta Beauty and Urban Decay.
Natasha Denona available at Sephora.
The three palettes featured were press samples sent for review consideration. As always all opinions my own.

I wish warms didn’t hate me.
Great photos, as always. I love warm tones so this overview of the options out there is super helpful.
I am so torn on whether to purchase any of these because these hues ( orange, red tones) and my NW 25 self just can’t pull these colors off.
But they sure are pretty! I love “Loaded” but will continue not to give in to the lemming. I have been thmay now have to get the ND 5 pan palette & have put it in my Sephora cart for the coupon coming soon.
Same. Not a fan of warm shades on my eyes and I am a neutral N10-15
In the same club. Not happening. I don’t mind mixing palettes. I do it all the time. It’s the only way I can wear Nude Dip. Almost always if I risk it, it’s a money waster or a return. My first Suqqu was an orange palette. I wore it haloed with lavender. But not too often!
This is so helpful for me, mostly because I didn’t know there was an Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat out! So, thanks for that. I’m loving their petite palettes more these days because they are easier to travel with. I also am glad you reviewed the Natasha. I thought it would be perfect for me but after seeing your swatches (which are amazing btw!) I see they are too shimmery for me.
I didn’t like warm colors at all and then for whatever reason impulse-purchased a Viseart Theory Minx palette (which I then promptly stashed without trying for months). When I tried it, I fell in love with it even though I believe it would be even more gorgeous with a tan skin in summer. This led me to look at the Denona palette you mention, and now I think I will get that. For reference I am a slightly sallow skintone, light medium, and wear neutral bases.
I’ve been eyeing the MJ palette for awhile now. It’s good to know that the colors are similar to the other two eyeshadows. Out of the three, I like the MJ formula the best.
So pretty! I just have so many warm tones shadows already. Im trying to be less of a hoarder 🙂
Anyone else get this warm fuzzy feeling when they see beautifully pigmented warm shades!? Those are just stunning!
the marc jacobs palette is sooo pretty i also own the glambition it’s my favorite!!
The marc jacobs one is so beautiful!!
Nice review! I want to try the Urban Decay.
I am loving the Marc Jacobs one! It’s one of my fav palettes at this moment! I was also thinking about picking the Natasha Denona one but I think I might skip. Seeing your swatches it looks a bit like the Marc Jacobs one!
I definitely want to pick up the Naked Petite Heat, may just be a while in terms of budget… Also I really like your idea of mixing it with the Naked Basics! I hadn’t thought of that but it’s a really good idea.
I want the heat mini palette
I love how compact these are. Looks great.
I wish they’d come out with more cool toned palettes. These oranges and reds do nothing for my skin tone 🙁
Very nice and different shades.
I have the Urban Decay Heat one and I love it! My everyday palette is Urban Decay Basics.
lovely reviews…for my coloring I prefer cooler or neutral shades – your go-to Glambition is more my style, and I am very happy with the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette (tho I still need to travel with an additional sparkly shade).
I really like the Marc Jacobs palette best out of the three. I think it would flatter my fair skin. I love the sleekness and shapes of the palettes as they would all be easy to bring on holidays.
I looooove warm eyeshadows. The Marc Jacobs palette is particularly stunning.
I am LOVING the look of the Marc Jacobs Scandalust. I already own the full size Naked Heat and Sunset palettes, so no point in being redundant.
I love the Marc Jacobs palette!
Stunning photos and detailed descriptors, as always. It’s evident that these posts are a labor of love!
Warm shades and I are absolute besties!
I think I’m in the minority here but I don’t think I could pull these tones off. I avoid reds on my eyes like the plague bc they’ll just make me look like my allergies are bothering me lol!! They’re beautiful though.
I had been leaning toward buying the UD palette but now that I am seeing the Natasha Denona palette swatched here, I am switching over to that one. Thanks!
i HAAAAVE to try that Natasha Denona one! its too cute and pretty!
It’s so nice to see a comparison of these instead of a single review! Otherwise I feel like it’s palette overload. Lucky for me I have quite a few of these shades already from previous LE purchases!
I like these in theory, but I can’t pull off the warm shades.
I like the Mark Jacobs palette.
The Natasha Denona looks good especially since there is no glitter. I don’t have any of her products but I’ll check that one out in person.
These all look amazing but I think I love the Marc Jacobs one the most.
It’s funny how I’m always drawn to the warm tones! I think they’re stunning… Unfortunately, I have come to terms with the fact that I can’t do eyeshadow. I just don’t have the necessary talent/coordination, hehe. So I usually just rely on single eyeshadows, usually cream formulas.
Still, whenever I see a warm eyeshadow palette I go “oooooooh, I wish I knew how to use that”
Do you like the Marc Jacobs or the NARS Wanted palette more?
NARS Wanted for the win!
I’m honestly tired of this color scheme. I’m ready for a new theme to be beaten to death. Ugh.
Love all ND palettes – what did you think of the Tropic Palette?
Nice shade, but I am still on the fence if I can pull this look off!
these colors have been done so many times, i’m ready for new inspiration but great swatches as usual!
I tend to go for more neutral colours with eyeshadows too, and I think the Marc Jacobs palette looks gorgeous!
I agree with you on the Urban Decay palettes – I think the Naked Basics 1 & 2 are the best! I would like to get my hands on the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat palette tho…
I think I may have to run and get that Marc Jacobs right away !
That Marc Jacobs palette looks gorgeous!!
I cannot bring myself to buy any of these! I am good with a couple random warm ones I have here and there.
Oh FYI the link to the Nars loaded palette takes me to the tarte foundation post
These are gorgeous for everyday wear!!!if only I had talent like others to put it on right
I am always drawn to these palettes even though I know they will look terrible on me!
I have the ND sunset palette and I love it 😍
I want all those Marc Jacobs palettes. They remind me of those water colour plastic palettes I had as a kid but with more organized colour choices. They are pushing my collector buttons in a big way.
Little too warm for me personally, but the colors are beautiful.
Love warm palettes. The Mac Jacobs looks lovely.
Thank you for a great post! I don’t have the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat palette, but I have the regular sized Heat palette and really like it.
Such gorgeous shades! thank you for the swatches 😍
I really want to wear red eye shadow, but I always end up looking like I’ve been in a fight. I do love that Marc Jacobs palette. Maybe it will fall in my cart during the Sephora sale?
These are nice, definitely good shades. Warm eyeshadow that provides a quality shade is a product hard to come by
I don’t wear a lot of warm shades but these palette makes me want to! The Natasha Denona mini palette looks really lovely!
I love Marc Jacobs, but I don’t usually go for the orange or red shades.
Nice shades even though I don’t wear eyeshadow
That Marc Jacobs palette is so beautiful!

I really want the UD Naked Petite Heat
I have never tried Marc Jacobs. That palette looks beautiful
I love the Natasha Denona palette!
The Marc Jacobs palette looks amazing.

Mark Jacobs is so nice palette! Actually they all are so beautiful!
Never tried Marc. Usually it’s Chanel and MAC with some NARS thrown in..I think I need to try one..maybe your fav
I love warm eyeshadows because they suit my complexion very well. I never tried any of those you recommend but I will have a closer look next time I enter a Sephora shop! Thanks for the review ♥
Marc is my favourite! Love the small slick case, however, I’ve never tried Marc, only Chanel.
UD Naked Petite Heat is my fav <3
I like the way the Naked Palettes have a smooth application. Some of the colors are a little dark for me.
I have to be careful with anything shimmery because I’m older and have oily skin. I’ve found they only make me look oilier. ;(
These kinda colors are my favorite!! I love these palettes!
I usually go for the neutral colors. The warm colors I haven’t tried yet although they are beautiful.
I’m hearing so much about Natasha Denona, but have not seen any of her products. I like the colors in this palette. Urban Dacay eye colors are always my favorite.
Of these, my fave has got to be the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palette in Scandalust!
These colours are so pretty! Marc Jacobs palettes are always so sleek
I want to try Natasha Denona so bad!
A little to warm for my skin type but very nice shades.
I love the colors in the MJ palette
I really like these colors!
The colors are absolutely beautiful. I especially like Inhale, Cause a Fuss, and Sun Beam.
I love how versatile Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palette in Scandalust is. It has been a staple in my routine since it launched.
my coloring makes it difficult to carry off this range. The NAKED heat trend of warm reddened browns doesn’t do anything good for me.
Generally I never really use warmer palettes although I have the Tartelette Toasted palette and my skin tone is in the cooler range. The Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette is beautiful, perfect for on-the-go use.
I Love All Marc Jacobs Products !!!! My Best Friend Bought Me A Palette of browns/beige’s
Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palette – really like the Scandalous is a wine pink red matte it just calls to me.
Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat. – is really pretty and I would wear them but none of them really call me to wear them.
Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette — 176M Apollo is a metallic deep red is calling me
I love all these colors they are lovely
I’m loving the Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat even though i don’t tend to get colors like Wild Thing. It’s really pretty though and definitely want to give it a try! I try to stay away from shimmers too because I’m older but they are soo gorgeous.
I plan on purchasing naked petite heat. Love it
The colors are so beautiful in the palettes. I can not even choose a favorite!
More pretty colors would love to try these
I’m a HUGE fan of Marc Jacobs (bought one of their foundation brushes because of you! I want all of MJ’s brushes, haha!) and Urban Decay! MJ just has beautiful colors and packaging! I received the cool tone palette as a gift, but haven’t tried it yet. I saw the new UD palette, but I haven’t made a trip to Sephora to see it in person yet and your swatch makes me want to check it out even more. I’ve never heard of the Natasha Denona brand so thank you for the introduction, Sabrina. I love finding new beauty brands!
She Sweats Diamonds
All of these palettes look gorgeous! Especially the Marc Jacobs one. I’ve never actually brought a Marc Jacobs product, but maybe one day I’ll splurge!
