Sephora Beauty Insider VIB Rouge 15% Off Event Starts Today: 4/12 through 4/21/2015

April 12, 2015

The Sephora Beauty Insider event is happening this month! VIB Rouge Members get early access starting today where you can get 15% off your purchases online at Sephora.com with code ROUGELOVE and in stores by showing the mailer or copy of the e-mail you received with the barcodes 4/12 through 4/21. VIB and other Beauty Insider Members will have access at later dates (will update as more as I receive more info).

I placed an order online this morning to avoid the crowds, although quite a few of the Surratt Beauty items I had on my wish list sold out already. I’ll have my haul to share with you in the next week (my package is expected to arrive Tuesday or Wednesday).

In the meantime if you need some recommendations here is a list of items I’ve reviewed from the past few years that are good to save on. Sales on mid to high-end luxury products rarely occur except with the occasional friends and family discounts. In the mix a few splurges along with classic staples.

Did you buy anything for the VIB Rouge Beauty Insider sale at Sephora? If you’re shopping online be sure to enter in the code ROUGELOVE at checkout. If you’re a VIB/Beauty Insider Member, what’s on your wish list or in your shopping cart?

Yup, I bought a bunch of things but like you, I got shut out of most of the Surratt Beauty items I wanted to get. I am particularly bummed about the blush brush as that was gonna be my big splurge item and I'd really been looking forward to it. Ah, well. At least I managed to score one of their blushes. I don't know what I was thinking not ordering at like 12:01am. Silly me.

LOL, I wonder if they sold out due to popularity before the sale started. When I looked last week, a few of the lipsticks and eyeshadows were X'd out. At least you got one of the blushes you wanted! Perhaps they will restock soon on the rest.

Love this! I wish I knew they were doing this because I literally just went and bought a ton of makeup! Xo

If you're a beauty insider, you should have received an e-mail last week for the code/dates. Maybe there will be something you'll find to stock up on 🙂

My code isn't activated until Thurs 16th, I think they have different levels for VIBs.

I'm on the BI level, so it will depend on what's sold out as far as my list goes.

Do you happen to have any recommendations for sunscreen?

    • Sabrina April 13, 2015 at 4:49 am

Hi Valerie, I really like the Clarins HP Plus but it looks like the untinted version was discontinued and replaced by this one instead, Clarins is one of the few lines I like for sunscreens that don't look ghostly white on my skin

Shiseido Tinted ones are also good, but the shade selection is a bit limited.

      Good luck!

I overindulged a little on this sale 😉 I did pick up the Tatcha Oil and Hourglass bronzer which I'm super happy about!

Great post! So many things I still need to look into from you recs 🙂

Please do a review comparing the Lolita and the Lover palettes – I have the Lolita and am very tempted by the Lover but can't see in person… hoping the shades are different enough!

It's already on my to do list 🙂

I found your blog this morning while looking for NARS audacious reviews – and I'm so glad I did! I placed my first order last night – picked up Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Color in Lolita and Outlaw, some Bliss lemon and sage things (scrub, bubbles), and 2 of the NARS Audacious – Brigitte and Anabella. I'm pretty loyal to my mascara (YSL Faux Cils Babydoll) and skincare (Shiesedo/Sunday Riley) – but definitely looking for more must haves.

I'm trying to get into the habit of wearing more lipcolor at work; I picked up 2 YSL Gloss Volupte colors last week (Fig and one of the sheer candy colors), but they just look like an expensive version of Clinique's Almost Lipsticks.

One question – my current blush is NARS Orgasm, Portofino or Exumas Multiples (usually one of the latter two, especially as my light-med olive skin gets tan). Any recommendations for a different blush? If I'm going to start wearing serious lipcolor to work, I think my blush should look more like a wash of color?

    • Sabrina April 13, 2015 at 1:41 pm

Great picks, I think you are going to love the NARS Lipsticks!!!

The YSL Gloss Voluptes can be very sheer but on the lips they give a lush look like no other brand. Clinique's Almost Lipsticks are good, but the colors always turned on me.

For blush, I think it will depend on what lip color you are going to wear. If you're looking for a brighter peach blush, NARS Torrid, Gina or Tom Ford Flush are the best brighter peaches. You can always intensify the color by layering a bronzer on top. Hourglass Diffused Heat also has more color but is still soft.

I want a lot of the things on your list! Especially the Bite Beauty Butter Cream lipsticks. Those gorgeous warm shades are right up my alley! x

Does the Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water work like those French micellar waters? I've been curious about those for a while now…

    • Sabrina April 13, 2015 at 3:52 pm

Yes! It does, for the French cleansing waters I've tried Lancome and loved it (repurchased quite a few times), but I keep repurchasing the Koh Gen Do because I find it's better at removing makeup but is still gentle and doesn't leave any film on the skin. It won't remove waterproof mascara easily (so I use dual-phase removers for that) but for the face it's really good. I almost always have the Koh Gen Do Wipes on hand as well – or at least try to, I run through them quickly.

There is a small travel size option at Sephora for the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Water which I think is nice to try out.

      HTH!
