I look back on the last twelve months and can’t believe an entire year has gone by. This has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding years I’ve had yet and I have lots to look forward to for 2016. I took a quick look at my blog posts for the past year along with an inventory of my favorite beauty products. I started with a massive list – there were so many good launches this past year, especially for lipsticks. Brands have really upped their beauty game with better formulas. I’ve edited my list as much as I could to what I considered game changers this year.
I have four categories of best in beauty this year. The first up is makeup favorites. I have 20 of my top makeup picks for lips, eyes and face – nails have their own category (up next).
- NARS Chelsea Girls Lip Gloss is this year’s best creamy nude (review here)
- Charlotte Tilbury Penelope Pink, Iconic Nude + Seduction make for the best nude lip combo ever, I used up an entire tube of Penelope Pink this year! (swatched here and here)
- Marc Jacobs Hi-Shine Enamored Lip Glosses = the best lip gloss launch (swatches here)
- Rouge Louboutin Silky Satin = most luxurious lipstick formula created and the best red lipstick I’ve ever swatched (3 formulas swatched here)
- MAC x Ellie Goulding Lipsticks were the best pinks launched (swatches here)
- Burberry Kisses Lipstick = the best lipstick formula launch this year huge plus that they are unscented and also non-drying on the lips (my picks swatched here)
- Tom Ford Lip Color Sheers in Skinnydip and Rose Soleil (swatches here) were the best new colors launched for the entire year (so good I have backups even though they are permanent)
- Hourglass Lip Treatment Oil in Icon is best new tinted lip treatment formula (swatched here)
- Urban Decay Naked3 was my most-used eyeshadow palette of the year (swatches here)
- Burberry Wet & Dry Glow Eyeshadow in Shell = best all over eyeshadow shimmer color for the lids ever made (review here)
- Clio Kill Bill Liquid Liner was the best liquid eyeliner discovery (review here)

Charlotte Tilbury has had a lot of hits for me this year! I'm still dying to see the Louboutin lipsticks in person. I've been so tempted to order sight unseen but at $90 each I need to find colors that are perfect!

TOTALLY AGREE regarding the CT Airbrush Flawless Finish powder. She kills me with other products putting castor oil in them but that powder—you and me both on the perfection there. Love it. Hoarding it.

This is a tough one as so many but Tom Ford Summer Ltd Edition Cream Blush in Pink Sand was the best cream blush ever. I radiated health wearing that. Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Powders in Starlight & Candlelight are exquisite along with Tom Ford Illuminating Duo Moodlight was a scene stealer though. Burberry 'Come Rain or Shine' Powder Palette was the prettiest compact and so classy to look at. By Terry Cellularose Moisturising CC Cream Nude (01) and By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi-Serum in Illuminating Light were brilliant for less is more days. Chanel Rouge Noir Absolutement 2015 Lèvres Scintillantes Étincelle (487) was the perfect Chrsitmas lips. And of course the ubiquitous Rouge Louboutin in all three finishes……satin, velvet & sheer were my lips of choice. Special mention to the amazing Christian Louboutin Lip Liner Leanu / Nats for the sheer inventiveness of a lip pencil. Finally my most anticipated purchase of the year……all 12 of the Tom Ford make up brushes and I actually found a brand new TF make up case to store them in which was discontinued a while back but this was brand new and unused and makes me smile every time I take my brushes out.
Skincare winners…..Eve Lom Brightening cream and all of the Rodial Bee Venon range. And scent has to be the moment I finally got a Jasmin Rouge decanter. Now if only Tom Ford could supply a tasteful atomiser instead of the bit of tat that came with it I would be ecstatic. I believe there have been some in the past and some are due again soon.
Living Proof volume range for my hair was a revelation……it works!
Ahhh yes, the Pink Sand was in my initial list. I had to edit a lot or else the list would have been like 100 products! Need to check out the Living Proof Volume line, I adore the shine one and regular formula 🙂

Great post! I just got a gift card and I'm not sure what to get. Im a Sophomore in high school, so it needs to be something I can put on quick and easy.
Maybe a palette? Or a tinted lip balm for double-duty? Not sure where your GC is to, but the MAC x Ellie Goulding collection is pretty awesome!
Naked 3 surprised me so much. I've used it more than 1 and 2. I actually just sold Naked 2 because since I got 3, I haven't touched it! Such a great palette!
All these products are very good for skin. These products make your skin more glowing. But you need wipes to remove your make-up. For that you can use tea tree oil wipes. These wipes is very good to use and it can also prevent you from skin infection.
