I’ve written about Dragon Le Vernis by Chanel on numerous occasions but as I was going through my archives and realized I haven’t done a full proper review on this classic red. This post is dedicated to Café Makeup, currently gone, but definitely not forgotten. Her blog was phenomenal and an extremely valuable resource to us all. I know we are all hopeful for a possible return in the near future! At the same time, I wish her and Liz all the best for their plans right now. Chanel Dragon was Café Makeup’s signature red. Everytime I thought of or looked at my Chanel Dragon, I thought of Cafe Makeup 🙂 She described it as epic. Indeed it is. It’s sharp, crisp, rich, eye-catching in a classic sophisticated way. It looked amazing on her fair skin and it seems to be a universally flattering red for all skintones.

I have about all the Chanel reds, and even though legendary Rouge Noir is my forever fav, I can't help but admire Dragon every time I use it! It is just the perfect red-red. My friends say Dragon is the best of all shades I have, they mostly borrow this one 🙂

I really don't understand why she took the whole site down. I mean even if she didn't want to continue, she could've just left it, it had so many great reviews and photos. Such a shame.

@Anitacska: I think the reason that Amy removed all the posts is because she regularly suffered content and image theft. It's obviously sad for us that the posts are no longer available but I do understand the reasons for wanting to protect their copyright.
Dragon is one of my favorite reds. I adore red nails and lips in general, so it's hard to pick favorites, but some of mine are: Chanel Rouge Fatale 487 and Shanghai Red, Dior Style 736 (d/c a very long time ago), essie Lacy Not Racy, CND Bloodline, OPI Kennebunk-Port and Got the Blues for Red, Revlon Red, butter London Blowing Raspberries, China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Rescue Beauty Lounge Chinoise …. probably lots more but that's all I can think of now.
I'm also so sad that the site was taken down but I understand why.
One of my favourite reds is a dupe for ruby pumps from Revlon but I can't think of the name right now!

I must say that Dragon looks fab on you. As for myself, I really love Illamasqua's Alarm these days, beautiful bright flame red.

I adore this shade too. It looks amazing on you! It's a little daring while being perfectly classic. Other reds I like are: Revlon Cherries in the Snow(which is a red/pink), Zoya Sooki and Priti Polish Queen of Night Tulip.
I am extremely sad to see Amy and Liz stop CafeMakeup. It was one of my favorite blogs and I checked it daily. (Just as I check yours as well :-))
I truly wish the best for both of them. I hope they miss all of us and come back sometime VERY soon.

Gorgeous red indeed, loving your Chanel bag collection and I'm saddened by the departure of Amy's blog. She had fantastic pictures and it always created an obsession with Paris and high luxury items, as if I need any help with obsessing over the said topics.
Also, I really loved her relationship with her daughter Liz and their shared love of all things beautiful.
This colour is amazing. Maybe I should try it, I have plenty of chanel nailpolish, but I do not have that one. It's really difficult to find the perfect red. I have bought the Rouge Fatal a few months ago and it is not the ideal one for my very very fair skin tone.
And I LOVE your bag! Maybe I could die for a Chanel bag! ^^
