Fragrance Collection To Date

February 7, 2012

Photographed in one post by request: my fragrance collection. All 15 fragrances I own (minus one from Tocca which I gifted away and not including the little tiny samples I have accumulated). Where reviews are applicable I will link them. All photos were taken with my iPhone 4S Hipstamatic App.

I rotate my fragrances more frequently than I rotate my foundations. My nose is fickle and tires quickly of the same scent when I wear them. I’ll alternate depending on mood. The longest I’ve worn a single fragrance is 4 days in a row (Jo Malone Wild Bluebell which I consider magical b/c I use it quite liberally and have barely made a dent in usage). I find the Jo Malone fragrances to be the most simple/pure which allows for easy layering. Out of all of these, my Jo Malone Tea Fragrances are my most worn. Have I used up any yet? No … but I’m more than 1/2 way finished with some of my limited edition Jo Malone tea fragrances.
What fragrances do you own? Or have owned/used up? I feel like my fragrance collection grew overnight and I completely blame my friend LJ along with other fragrance bloggers. Can I count some of my Jo Malones as 1/2 a fragrance because of the size? I know my L’Artisan Holiday Trio is getting used up very fast (each are in the miniature sizes which I will count as 1/3 of a full-sized one). I almost always purchase the smaller option for fragrances even though the larger sizes are often a much better buy. I’m curious to know how many fragrances do you own?

  • You have exquisite tastes in everything and fragrance is well included 🙂 Thank you for sharing!

I also preferred smaller perfume bottles so I could toss them into my handbag. That is, until I discovered a Travelo atomizer.

  • I adore Jo Malone, have a bit of a collection myself…my fave summer combo is layering Assam & Grapefruit and Sweet Lemon for the Tea Collection… I wish I bought backups of those two scents… the combo is just incredibly divine 🙂

  • You have such a beautiful collection! I love Jo Malone as well, so fresh and easy to layer…they are expensive though and I have been asked multiple times if it's the body splash from Bath and Body Works, lol!

  • You have a great collection!!! I don't own as many since I fall in love with a scent and keep it until it's over… my very best favorite is Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle.

  • Only perfume I own is Boyfriend because I like it (of course) and very importantly it doesn't make me sneeze. I want to get more into perfume though, I'll have to check out Jo Malone next time I go to Nordstrom.

  • Yay! Blame me! I am so excited that you are getting super obsessive now too! I am sort of obsessed with L'Ete en Douce- the perfect nuzzle worthy soapy scent. My next pick: Tom Ford Santal Blush. Love.
Those Jo Malone dreamy tea scents smell so lovely on you

  • I have several Diptyque fragrances that I really enjoy, a Chanel, a MJ, 2 Tom Ford, kai, tocca, and FRÉDÉRIC MALLE in lipstick rose. Sometimes when I get ones I dislike, I use them as room sprays.

  • Excellent collection. I actually can say that I have a lot of similarities on the field of perfumes: I love florals with a fruity undertone and I am attracted to most of these perfume houses as well (Byredo, Keicho Mecheri & Artisan). I can see your attraction to Tom Ford Violet Blonde too, because some days it feels better to have something slightly sexier than the airy florals.

  • Oh I see lots of Jo Malone! Ive never tried any of their perfumes only because Im scared it will set me off into an obsession I can't afford! lol

  • I never realized how much fragrance women owned until recent posts by bloggers and YouTubers. I only own two, Armani Code for Women and Chloe. I guess I never delved into the intricate world of fragrance. This talk of Jo Malone has me quite curious to sniff around. The photos of your collection are beautiful by the way.

nice picture by an iphone!!! Good collection…Please do more outfits of the day posts. I just relate so well with what you wear. They are simple, elegant and easy to put together. Thank you

  • Sabrina, what an excellent, well-edited collection. My fragrance stash grows out of frustration because I go through cyclic periods where I cannot smell at all and my irrational mind things I can brute force my nose into smelling things.

When I can smell, I really like salt, marine, vetiver, tea, citrus, chypre and some white florals, as long as they are kind of dirty and not too sweet. I like a good bit of skank, lol.

I've been collecting for many years. They say a perfume, once opened, lasts only about a year, so I suppose I should throw some of these away or, like M. Fay, use them up as a room spray. I am already in the habit of spraying lightbulbs.

    My current stash:

    Profumum Acqua di Sale
Parfums de Rosine Ecume de Rose
Jo Malone Assam & Grapefruit, Blue Agava and Cacao
i Profumi di Firenze Brezza di Mare
    Hermessence Vanille Galante
    Dior Escale à Pondichéry
    Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel
The Different Company Sel de Vetiver
    Bobbi Brown Beach
Chanel No5, No19, Bois des Iles, and Chance Eau Tendre
CB I Hate Perfume At the Beach 1966, M#2 Black March, Burning Leaves, CBMUSK, Mr. Hulot’s Holiday, To See A Flower, Walking in the Air, Wild Hunt
    Hampton Sun Privet Bloom
Hermes Elixir de Merveilles, Eau de Merveilles, 24 Faubourg
    Jean Patou Joy
    Prescriptives Calyx
    Demeter Dirt

  • What a great post, love it! Your gonna get me to move out of the Jo Malone zone that I've been in!

  • Hi Sabrina,

This is such a gorgeous montage! I haven't had the chance to sniff out many of these scents, which also adds to the mystique for me. I haven't dabbled much in niche brands, but after reading your posts on Jo Malone's tea scents I really wish I had. They sound wonderful! My current scent obsession is Chanel Chance.

  • Beautiful images. It looks like Jo Malone was your gateway drug, like Serge Lutens was for me 4 years ago. I never intend for my collection to grow the way it has, and to date it contains full bottles of:

    Serge Lutens Arabie
    Serge Lutens Feminite du Bois
    Serge Lutens Vetiver Oriental
    Serge Lutens Musc Kublai Khan
    Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles
    Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle
    Serge Lutens Tumerie Turque
    Serge Lutens Sarrasins
    Serge Lutens Clair de Musc
    Serge Lutens Cuir Mauresque
    Chanel No.19
    Guerlain Shalimar
    Guerlain Vetiver
Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily
    Caron Le Troisiemme Homme
    Hermes Terre d'Hermes
    Aqua di Parma Iris Nobile
    L'Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu
    Estee Lauder Azuree
Etat Libre d'Orange Like This by Tilda Swinton
    Robert Piguet Bandit
Juliette Has A Gun Vengeance Extreme

as well as three bottles of heavily concentrated perfume oils I bought in Knightsbridge from a Saudi perfume house; shamefully, I neglected to write down both the name of the perfumery and the perfumes.

  • Thanks for sharing your well-edited collection of lovely fragrances! You have such elegant taste!

I just did a quick count of my collection, and at the risk of sounding like a hoarder I confess I have well over 75 full bottles (I know, too many, right?) I give some to friends occasionally & have donated and auctioned some off in the past. I am only a fragrance dilettante, but some of my favorite notes are: violet, black tea/green tea, rose, orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose, mimosa, fig, blackberry, and green notes.

I like L'Artisan Verte Violette and Annick Goutal's La Violette. Trish McEvoy's Snowdrop & Crystal Flowers #3 is an old favorite. I like Bobbi Brown's Beach (reminds me of the old Coppertone suntan lotion scent), Bulgari Blue II, Bond. No. 9 West Side & Park Ave, the Hermes Un Jardin series, Jo Malone French Lime Blossom and Orange Blossom…too many more to list! 🙂 I got Issey Miyake Gold Absolute for Christmas & like the way it dries down. I've always loved the house of Guerlain and even though I cannot wear many of their classic, old-school scents, I appreciate the history behind them!

I really like the idea of having a signature scent, but never seem to stick to one fragrance for long. 🙂 I'm grateful for Lucky Scent and The Perfumed Court for samples. They are so helpful when deciding whether or not to invest in a full-size bottle!

  • Curious–Any fragrance purchase that you regret?

I am so choked that the JM tea fragrances were limited edition!. I love the smell of Earl Grey tea, although their Orange Blossom is akin to the taste of Jasmine tea…
