Laura Mercier Exclusive Essential Eye Organizer (Neiman Marcus)

August 28, 2009

Directly from Neiman Marcus online. I already saw the tester of this in store a few weeks ago and did a presale for it for their September Beauty Event (starts September 10). They have a super cute gift with purchase that comes with a full sized lip stain, mini mineral powder in Candlelight, minis of skincare and mascara too! I have a feeling this will sell out fast so I recommend calling your associate at Neiman Marcus to do a pre-sell for this if you want to take advantage of the gift!

Retails for $125. Laura Mercier introduces her Limited-Edition Exclusive Essential Eye Organizer, a wardrobe of eye colors perfect for fall. Create endless looks with twelve expertly chosen eye colours. Contour, define and line eyes with three professional double-ended brushes.

The stylish eye palette contains the following eye colors: Celestial, African Violet and Bamboo Luster Eye Colours, Black Plum, Buttercream, Cashmere and Coffee Ground Matte Eye Colours, and Sandstone, Baroque, Haze, Stellar and Sable Sateen Eye Colours.

Each palette contains the following brushes: Double-ended Eye Color and All Over Eye Color Brush, double-ended Eye Crease and Ponytail Brush, and double-ended Smudge and Corner Eye Color Brush.

Paul & Joe Autumn 2009 Catalog

August 28, 2009

I received this cute pamphlet in the mail thanks to the lovely ladies from the Paul & Joe counter at Bergdorf Goodman. Thought I’d scan it and share it with you!

For more product photos, click on the “Paul and Joe” tag/label at the bottom of this post. Another awesome resource is the Rouge Deluxe Blog (one of my favorites and super helpful to me when I ordered items sight-unseen).

Definitely check out their website for clearer swatch views. They also have a Page and a Group on Facebook with a photos section. Both have lovely pictures and you can see updates on promotions and events too! Just type in “Paul & Joe Beaute” in the search field. These are the two that I’ve become a fan of.

Today’s Non-Beauty Haul Items

August 26, 2009

Picked up some good non-beauty items today. Stopped by J.Crew and found some really cute patent-leather belts that will go well with some of my shirt-dresses. Might go back for the black patent one.

This is the cute ruffle-front shirt-dress from Banana Republic I got a couple days ago which I plan to wear with my new belts.

I absolutely adore Tommy Bahama’s Scented Candles in Pineapple Cilantro & Crackled Coconut. Looks like they redesigned the packaging on their Home Fragrance Collection and added a few more scents! These classic tins were $14 each. They also have larger tins, pillars, and glass poured candles.

And I’ve saved the best for last. I went crazy looking for these Limited Edition Coconut M&Ms after my friend posted a comment about these! Apparently they were released in select stores in early August. So . . . 5 large retail grocery chains, 6 gas stations/liquor stores, and one 7-Eleven later, I finally found these at Circle K and stocked up (yes, I know it’s quite crazy that I would spend that much time and effort just for candy). The Strawberry Peanut Butter M&Ms I found at Walmart.

Chanel White Whisper Quadra Eyeshadow & Blanc Petale Nail Colour

August 25, 2009

I just received two of the items from the Symphonie Blanche de Chanel Collection, White Whisper Quadra Eyeshadow & Blanc Petale Nail Colour from Chanel.com. I have the Fleurs face highlighting powder coming in the mail at the end of this week, but couldn’t wait to upload pics of these two items.

Check just a couple posts down for the promotional info about the collection or click Chanel Symphonie Blanche de Chanel Collection for more details. It looks like the palette is out of stock on the Chanel website, but check Neimanmarcus.com, select Chanel Boutiques like the ones in NY, Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, and Chanel Beauty Studios like the ones at South Coast Plaza Bloomingdales.

Blanc Petale is described as a crisp white which I feel is accurate. It has a slight pearl finish but still shows up a pure white. I’ve swatched it next to White Satin which was limited edition Spring 2008. I’m a bit undecided about this since it’s such a bright white – I’m not sure whether it will be more for a mani or pedi.

Two views, this one shows the difference better in the nail swatch:

This one shows the difference in color in the actual bottles:

White Whisper Quadra Eyeshadow is described as having silver pink, pearly white, light gold, dark silver shades. I agree with all the shade descriptions, except the “dark silver” is more like a satin charcoal shade. It’s more on the matte side, but not fully matte.

I really like the pigmentation and the colors in this quad are stunning. Please pardon the blurry swatches, it was hard to photograph the swatches without all the shades looking exactly the same.

Shu Uemura Primal Mix Blush: Rhythm

August 25, 2009

I briefly checked out Shu Uemura’s Fall Primitribe Fall Mode Collection at Neiman Marcus and the blushes were all definitely standouts. I was in a rush so I only picked up the pink one called Rhythm ($24 USD), there were two others a peach one and an amber colored one.

I found that the swatches on Shu Uemura’s Website were extremely accurate.

If you’re a fan of blush, I highly recommend checking out Shu Uemura’s. They’ve recently been discontinuing many of my favorite shades (such as P Peach 40) but they still have a wide range to choose from. I definitely plan on picking up the other two shades in the next few weeks.

Also, it looks like they finally released their new brow gel which I am super excited to try out!

Sneak Peek: Chanel Noirs Obscurs Makeup Collection

August 24, 2009

I just picked up the October 2009 Issues of Voce, Maquia & Biteki yesterday from my local Mitsuwa Marketplace and saw some preview pictures and a couple ads for the new Chanel Noirs Obscurs collection. (Huge thanks to Haru at Rouge Deluxe for introducing me to these awesome beauty/fashion magazines. Luckily I don’t need to be in Asia to get these since I have a Japanese bookstore near me.)

I’m keeping my fingers crossed hoping these will be released in time for the Saks and Neimans Beauty Events (mid September), but since they just released a new skincare line and the rouge allure laques in the US, I have a feeling the release date might not be as soon as I hope.

From Biteki Magazine, scan of the Chanel ad (the scan just couldn’t capture the true color or intensity/depth of the eyeshadow, the actual photo shows a bit of iridescence to the eyes but when scanned, just looks flat):

Article featuring Peter Philips from Voce:

Scan from Maquia:

I’ve found some more details on the product names on these two blogs:

British Beauty Beauty Blogger (Chanel: Noirs Obscurs Collection)
Ladies Beauty (Noirs Obscurs Dark Black Collection . . .)

If you have anymore details, please share!!!

For those unfamiliar with these Japanese magazines, they run about $8 to $12 USD each issue which is fairly pricey. However, they have beautiful layouts, pictures on real women, tons of how-to tutorials, and lots of great ideas (both fashion and beauty related) which make these well worth the price in my opinion and a better deal than most US beauty/fashion magazines. That being said, since these are Japanese publications, they do follow Asian Trends (which do not always coincide with other countries) and most of the models are fair-medium in skintone.

Check to see if your city has a Japanese supermarket or bookstore!
