I’m loving dark vampy nail polishes right now. This season has brought us some beautiful new shades. My current favorites: Chanel Vamp (not new but a classic), Tom Ford Minx, Chanel Malice (new for holiday), Chanel Provocation (Fashion’s Night Out release) and Chanel Vertigo (fall). All provide full rich coverage with just two coats. Most of these have already been featured on this blog, but here are my favorites this season swatched side by side (I hope you don’t mind the repeats below).
Chanel Vamp #18 – the classic vamp shade, mine has a slightly jelly finish, but this is probably one of the oldest nail polishes I own – I think this bottle was purchased before Chanel reformulated their polishes
Tom Ford Minx – a gorgeous metallic mink-vamp brown
Chanel Malice #637 – the latest release from Chanel for holiday (a more detailed review to come soon), this color is to-die-for, a gorgeous rich dark aubergine shimmer
Chanel Provocation – a perfect plum cream (limited-edition release for Fashion’s Night Out)
Chanel Vertigo – part of Chanel’s fall collection, a gorgeous dusty purple brown grey

OPI Vampsterdam is definitely going to be on my nails this season.

Chanel Vertigo is beautiful! I am walking on the dark side these day, I will wear some old colors like LMDB Chrome Passion and Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe.

I think Provocation and Vertigo are my two favorites from your picks–they're really gorgeous! I still haven't been able to give up my bright polishes yet (clinging to the remnants of Summer! :P), but I have a few new dark purples and greys and blues that are waiting to be worn for Fall. Those are my current 3 favorite polish shades for Fall
Where can I purchase Chanel Malice?
Hi Lydia – Chanel holiday is starting to show up at Neiman Marcus counters first (I believe). I'm on the west coast and heard it arrived in a number of California counters like SF, LA and some blogs from Seattle and various areas on the east coast have reported sightings. It should be at all Chanel counters soon but if you have a Neimans near you – check with them 🙂
My favorite vamp is RBL Moulin Rouge, though I can see I'll need to try and get ahold of Provocation. You make TF Minx look gorgeous, though on me it was a flat, dullish brown! wah. 🙁
I don't have any of these shades but I'm really happy with Chanel Rouge Noir. If you don't have it, I think it belongs in this gorgeous collection of yours!

They all look absolutely gorgeous. I personally like Malice by Chanel, it looks very chic and beautiful. I don't know why but this season makes me want to wear bordeaux nail polish!

These shades are gorgeous and all of them look great on you! 🙂 I haven't tried any Tom Ford polishes yet but am so tempted. Minx looks beautiful. My very first Chanel polish purchase was the original Vamp launched in 1994 (a true luxury for me back then!). I sort of wish I had kept the bottle just for nostalgia. I am currently loving Butter London's Shag for fall.

For the vamp trend this fall, I'm pulling out Chanel Paradoxal. Provocation and Malice are on my shopping list for later.
I remember when Chanel vamp came out in 1994, and everyone was going on about how dark it was, almost black. I finally got it after being on a wait list for 3 months. There were no colors out like that then. Now there are so many!
Amazing colors! I have been trying to resist buying Chanel due to the price tag, but Malice and Provocation are perfection! Love Minx too.
