Lately On Instagram

December 1, 2015

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Did you score anything good for Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Please share! I drove to the mall on Black Friday thinking everything would be less busy in the afternoon. I saw the parking situation was really bad and left immediately. I did venture to do a little shopping on Saturday but didn’t really pick up much that was on sale.

A few highlights and news bits from my Instagram feed. Since the holiday season is upon us, if you’re wanting to wear a red lip but are a neutral makeup lover like me, I rounded up 9 sheer red balms that are more natural looking than the traditional bold red.

For neutrals, I did a B2M for a few MAC Lipsticks in Koi Coral, Velvet Teddy and Patisserie. MAC lipsticks still make my lips dry out and peel, but the colors are so good I can’t stop wearing them.

Chanel relaunched the Les Tissages de Chanel in Tweed Pink – full review in yesterday’s post here. Did you end up purchasing it? Or are you waiting for spring to arrive at counters?

Last week I was thrilled to attend the Tom Ford Lips and Boys preview at the Beverly Hills store with Rae from The Raeviewer. We had so much fun and swatched up a storm. I’m waiting for a few to arrive this week and also my face is recovering from an allergic reaction – so thanks for your patience while waiting for the swatches. First impressions are that this year’s new colors are almost all shimmery. The one cream that stood out was Austin which is a nude pink cream. My heart belongs to Jake which is the perfect natural pink shimmer. I can’t wait to share the swatches of my picks.
Right now my favorite perfume is the L’Occitane Pierre Hermé Jasmin-Immortelle Neroli Eau de Toilette. I’m seriously considering a backup even though I’ve almost never backed up a perfume (I did it once for a limited-edition Jo Malone one).

My latest discovery is the Le Labo x The Laundress Detergent and I’m in trouble with this one. I bought Rose 31 and used it to wash our sheets and pillow cases and it’s amazing! I haven’t bought any Le Labo fragrances although I have smelled them at Barneys on numerous occasions. If you’re a Le Labo fan – please let me know what your favorites are!

Last but not least, if you’re a Nespresso lover, the holiday variations are out in three flavors: Vanilla Cardamom, Vanilla Amaretti and Ciocco Ginger. I ordered all three and my favorite is the Ciocco Ginger. I need to restock before they’re gone!

Hope your week is going well so far!

I wish you hadn't pointed out the Le Labo x The Laundress Detergent, I think I've found another thing I need. lol How is the scent, is it strong or just enough to enjoy and not be overwhelmed when you head to bed?

LOL! I wish I had not discovered it because it's so amazing I don't know how I will live without it. It's strong enough to notice it when I put my face in my sheets or blanket. I can smell it when I get into bed but it's a soft scent. It's not so strong that it keeps me awake (for reference I can't sleep when I use By Terry rose products on my face at night so I stopped using them at night).

      Definitely noticeable but not overwhelming.

      HTH!

You're a brave woman to venture near the mall on Black Friday. I was up bright and early and while the rest of my family slept in a bit, I shopped online 🙂 Then, after a light brunch, we all went to the auto show in downtown LA and followed up with an early dinner at our favorite Lebanese restaurant. It was a fun outing and so much more enjoyable than battling crowds at the brick and mortar stores. By Sunday, the large crowds were gone and so my husband and I ventured out to the local mall for lunch and to see what holiday entertainment was going on (some cute kids were performing The Nutcracker). Personally, I think it is time to retire the concept of Black Friday seeing as it lasts all month long and so many great deals are available in store and online throughout November and Decemeber.

Sounds like you had a great weekend!! I agree – Black Friday seems to extend into Cyber Monday followed by Cyber Tuesday extensions. I still get excited about deals and sales but I find the best ones are online.

I've been staying away from the Laundress x Le Labo because I know I will fall hard!

Smart woman! I've fallen hard and my wallet is crying.

My incredible Cyber Monday purchase–Stuart Weitzman Minx Espadrilles. They were offering 30% off on their website but no returns or exchanges. I waited 45 minutes on Nordstrom Live Chat and they graciously price matched the 30% off price! So the comfort of being able to exchange the size (if needed) and 10x points!! I am still so happy to finally get these wedges! I will wear them everyday when the weather warms up:-)

I went to Gucci just to look and lo and behold their sale just started. I got the Gucci GG supreme hobo for 40 percent off.

I have missed Tweed Pink so I will wait to spring, but it looks beautiful! Sabrina, have you noticed the new SimpleHuman mirror that is a 3 way mirror? It's gorgeous! I have the 8" one and love it but I want to throw all to the wind and get this for my vanity. The big downside, $400. I think I might be insane to spend this much on a mirror, especially when I thought $200 was expensive.

OMG I did notice it! Yes $400 is pricey and I might consider it but it also looks very large in size and I am always concerned about counter space.

Oh what a great way to smell the fragrance without the big purchase price on the Le Labo! Thanks for the tip!

Yes! Foundation, powder, concealer, shampoo, skincare … lots of things.
