Chanel Rose Rêvé #189 and Songe #191 Glossimers | Fall 2014 Collection États Poétiques

June 27, 2014

There are two new Chanel Glossimers in Rose Rêvé #189 and Songe #191 for fall. Both are very light and sheer. Rose Rêvé #189 is a pale sheer cool pink that is very similar but cooler version of Plaisir #164. On my lips this one goes on milky and with my pigmented lips showing through. I like this one better over lipsticks rather than by itself. Songe #191 is a shimmering iridescent oyster that flashes violet and pink. Although it’s on the sheer side it gives a pink brightening effect to the lips on its own. I really like this one.

Here they are swatched on the lips:

Out of the two, I prefer Songe #191 for the shimmer and glossy shine. It has a lovely iridescent quality that makes the color change depending on how the light hits the color. For some comparisons, two views so you can see how different lighting impacts the color with the pretty shimmers:

Chanel Aragonite  #151 Glossimer (discontinued)
MAC Clear Water Lipglass (limited-edition)

I can’t say either are must-haves since they are so sheer but I like the way Songe wears. It looks much better in person than it does in photographs. It has a pretty shimmer you can’t really capture with the camera. Both are available at Chanel counters now. Online at NordstromSaks and Chanel.com.

Songe is an interesting shade, just like the np! I really wonder how this looks layered over a darker lipstick!

Your last swatches just cost me major $$$! I love these nudes – great round up.

Ooh, Songe is so pretty. It's the item I'm probably most interested in from this collection and your swatches have really convinced me!

I just returned from Macy's where I was treated to a makeover with the Fall 2014 collection! My Chanel manager did my eyes with the new black pen eyeliner (I purchased the one in brun) and the 4 purple/pink eye shadows. I really like the look. I may purchase one of the four but I don't feel compelled…I have alot of purples. She used the new blush on me. Lovely, but nothing so unusual I need to add it to my collection. On to lips and nails. I tried all the new lip shines. I liked them all and wore Viva with Songe over it for my makeover look. Songe is gorgeous alone and just as gorgeous over a dark color. Viva is very close in color to Rayonnette. I own and love Rayonnette, so I passed on Viva. Another new color is very like L'Adoree, so I passed on it. I did buy Intime in the Rouge Coco shine. A pale lilac type color. I don't own anything like it . Also bought Songe (LOVE) and Atmosphere nail polish. I don't own anything like Atmosphere, so thought it was a nice addition to my collection. Orage is not as blue as I thought. It's more like a grey/black…at least to me. And I have lots of things like Secret…so passed on that. I think the yellow and hot pink eye shadows would look awesome on the right skin tone. I'm just too pale to rock those colors. I think it's one of those collections that you need to see on….I know I was looking at the colors online and thinking "ugh"….but it turned out much prettier once I saw the colors on me. I think Songe and Atmosphere will be the hot items!

I recently purchased Songe and am loving the color. So far, I've been wearing it on its own but I'm excited to layer Songe over other lip colors as well!

Songe looks amazing. I wonder how it will look layered over a soft pink lipstick

It's very beautiful and looks wonderful on you. Another great post, love love love.

I prefer Rose Rêve, even if I'm not a fan of lip gloss, I prefer lipstick.

Glad to see your swatches. I passed on both of them because I must have 100 light pink glosses. Am I getting jaded, or what?

Love the iridescence of Songe! Beautiful 🙂

Great swatches as always. Songe looks beautiful on you but on me (pale with pigmented mauvey lips) it just looked frosty and dated. Bummer.

    Hi Sabrina,

I don't usually look forward to CHANEL glossimers, but I have been curious about both Rose Reve and Songe! I love love love the iridescence of Songe, but it's hard for me to balance flashy lips on my complexion. Rose Reve on the other hand, looks promising (and work friendly too)!
