A heart-felt thank you to each and every one of you for your support, kind e-mails, tweets, comments. I haven’t had much time to blog these days but love what I’ve been reading on others (discovering amazing new ones each week!). First an update on our kitty: he’s a two month old ragamuffin (part Siberian), and we named him Calvin. He’s already settling in quite well with our two jack russell terriers (matched energy, lol). For those wondering about our other cat, he disappeared back in late July (yes, a total heartbreak, we had him about 6 years). I thought I couldn’t possibly replace him – but it was love at first sight when I saw this little white fluff ball in a local pet store window. (On the nails above is NARS Storm Bird.)

- Giorgio Armani has revamped their eyeshadow quads (yet again), I fell in love with 2 and 6 (reviews to come soon), Best Things In Beauty has done extensive testing and swatching
- Guerlain Holiday looks amazing this year, I went for the nail colors only, but the Wulong Meteorites Pressed Powder makes Temptalia’s skin glow (I’m tempted)
- Cafe Makeup posted swatches of all the new Burberry Lip Velvets from Nordstrom San Francisco (great reference)
- The Non-Blonde has a sneak peek of Laura Mercier’s new Illuminating Eye Color

Calvin is a real beauty and reminds me of my white persian that I had many, many years ago. I can also totally relate to the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet – it's the not knowing what happened part that always hit me the worst.
Somehow, Calvin's silky white fur makes your nail polish colour stand out even more – love that!

I am loving Tatcha's one-step cleansing oil that I received last week and Chanel's Rivoli Rouge Coco lipstick–a lovely dark red that's so apropos for the season. Also loving little Calvin–so cute with him taking a nap with your JR. I have an adorable 3-1/2 year old seal point Siamese and remember when he was a tiny kitten. I took a ton of pics back then so that I would always have fond memories of him at that stage. Kittens are so swoon worthy. Hope to see more of him with your reviews.
Your little white puffball is such a cutie! He looks right at home with your Jack Russell. I saw the sweetest black & white Persian for adoption at Petsmart this weekend and was so tempted to take him home with me! 🙂

So Sorry about your cat. I rescue stray kittens and socialize them so they can be adopted into a loving home as opposed to living on the street. Please consider adoption when you get your next pet. The kittens I've saved have been as beautiful, or more so, than those I've seen in pet stores or shelters. Nature makes amazing combinations! Great personalites too. Many of them I wind up putting a collar on a letting them go out because they don't get adopted and I cannot have twenty cats in one room in my basement. Anyway, youve now met another animal lover who's also a beauty afficionado!
You have the most adorable family of critters! I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. My grandmother lost her 10-year-old Yorkie in the mountains in the early 2000s and it was a really tough time for us, so I understand the heartbreak your family must've gone through. However, after 4 years of being lost, somehow the little beast ended up being returned to us because of her microchip! I don't want to give you false hope, but I hope my story can give you a little bit of solace in these tough times.

Calvin is beautiful! Please do consider adoption for your next pet. Shelters usually have totally adorable (and sometimes purebred) kittens who desperately need homes! All of my pets have been rescues and they have all been wonderful.
Kittens in pet stores usually come from "kitten mills," backyard breeders who produce hundreds of baby animals in terrible conditions. Responsible breeders will invite you in to meet the mama cat and see where they live. They'll also form a relationship with you, because they care where their kittens go. I hate to sound lecture-y — so many cats die because of overpopulation every year and it breaks my heart.
