Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Between the Sheets and K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Kiss Chase

February 11, 2016

There are two new lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury this spring named by Charlotte Tilbury lovers via social media. There is a new Matte Revolution Lipstick in Between the Sheets and K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Kiss Chase ($32 each, both exclusive to This season I swear lipsticks are draining my beauty budget. There are quite a few new launches this season from so many brands – being the Charlotte Tilbury fan that I am, I had to order both sight unseen even though there is no counter or store to see these two since they are online exclusives (at least they are in the US).

Above left is Kiss Chase, right is Between the Sheets

Both shades have a very romantic feel to them. If you visit Charlotte Tilbury’s website you will see a few beauty looks and the transformation with color is amazing! Between the Sheets is described as a dreamy vintage rose petal shade. I find it’s a bright baby petal pink with a hint of coral if that makes sense. It’s what I wanted Marc Jacobs Georgie Girl and Tom Ford Pink Tease to be on me. It’s the Matte Revolution formula which is one of the best matte lipstick formulas on the market (review on other shades in this post here). It has full coverage but still looks natural and non-cakey. There’s a tiny bit of shimmer in the tube but it doesn’t show on on the lips. Kiss Chase is a warm bright raspberry color. It looks like it would pull cool-toned on my lips, but once applied, it looks more warm. This is the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula which is full coverage, creamy and has a slight sheen in the finish.

A closer look at both shades + swatches.

Next up is Kiss Chase:

There are so many new lipstick formulas and options to pick from right now. I wish I could say that you should save your $$$ and skip these, but the formula is phenomenal. I’ve repeatedly mentioned that I’m not a fan of matte lips for me – I have full lips to begin with and mattes often make them look larger and flat in color. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick Formula is one of the few that manages to look luminous and matte at the same time. Between the Sheets turned out to be brighter and a bit more mod-like on my lips than I anticipated, but I love it. Kiss Chase is a bright and vibrant rosey shade. Even for a neutral lip lover like myself, I can’t help but think it’s such a pretty bright that I don’t feel self-conscious wearing.

I think if you like these kinds of shades, the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick formulas are top notch in terms of quality, wear and lasting power. I give both Between the Sheets and Kiss Chase a huge thumbs up. You can find both Between the Sheets and Kiss Chase exclusively online at Charlotte Tilbury ($32 each).

Have you checked these out or ordered them yet? What did you think?

    • Yes you should definitely treat yourself – I don't think you can go wrong with anything from Charlotte Tilbury!

  • I don't own any CT but Kiss Chase has stood out to me every post I've seen on the new lipsticks! So beautiful!

    • I think it's really different from anything else she has launched πŸ™‚

  • I need to try these ASAP!

  • I've yet to try CT, but you're making me want to! Also, if you have time in a future post, I'd love to know what you thought of Violet Grey. I'm making my first trip to LA this Spring and wonder if it's worth putting on my agenda to visit.

  • These shades look amazing! I need to try them out xx

  • I think I might get Kiss Chase but BTS reminds me of Tom Ford First Time…..gorgeous to look at but not just deep enough for me to pull off without it washing me out and looking flat. The older I get the less I can wear lovely sugar pinks. I need the depth to make me look alive! You are really suiting deeper colour's this season Sabrina. Xx

  • I got both shades and I love them. Charlotte Tilbury can do no wrong in my eyes πŸ™‚

  • I have Kiss Chase and love it. I'm obsessed with CT lippies these days!

    • It's such a lovely bright shade!

  • Yes, indeed, we've seen some really incredible and successful lipstick launches this spring–and there are still more to come πŸ™‚

I agree whole-heartedly with Amanda. Some of the deeper shades you've been wearing look fantastic on you, Sabrina. I came of makeup wearing age in the late 50's and really hit my stride in the mid 60's so I went from fire engine reds, vibrant pinks, and hot oranges to nudes, pastel pinks, and white pearl over everything! LOL And, somewhere along the way I got stuck on MLBB colors to the exclusion of all else. As I've gotten older; however, I've gravitated more and more towards roses, plums, and berries. The colors are so beautifully executed that it makes wearing them easy. Nowadays, it is the nudes that are so problematic for me. I look like death warmed over in them πŸ™

    • Awww thank you Eileen! I'm trying to be braver in wearing bolder colors but I feel most comfortable in nudes still πŸ™‚

  • Do you wear the CT matte lipsticks with a primer underneath?

    • Not always, but when I do I use MAC Prep and Prime Lip.

  • Neither of these look matte on you. I bought these sight unseen and cant wait to try them. There is a CT counter at the Nordstrom at the grove (los angeles) I think. Going to check them out in march when im in town.

    • Only one of the colors is a matte formula Between the Sheets, and you're right it doesn't look matte at all πŸ™‚

Just an FYI, Charlotte Tilbury DOES have a counter in the U.S. It's located in Bergdorf Goodman's in NYC.

    • I know – there are actually multiple counters across the country. However both these shades are listed as exclusive to the website, so I don't think you will find these at counters.

    • Updated the wording in the post since it was a bit confusing.

  • I have Between the Sheets, but didn't think I'd like Kiss Chase. On you, it really pops!

  • Kiss Chase is a lovely shade! I'm loving it!

  • Kiss Chase is something worth trying out. Lovely color and pigmentation.

  • So true, so many tempting releases. I am trying to contain myself as the storage space that I have for lippies is almost full!

Lately I am loving this kind of shades as I think they are very flattering and very easy to wear

Gorgeous pics and fantastic swatches, as usual!

  • Gorgeous pictures! Your lighting set up must be incredible.
