Gucci Beauty Luminous Matte Beauty Blush

Gucci launched new cheek products called the Luminous Matte Beauty Blush ($49 each). I hauled 5 of the 6 colors to try. These are beautiful soft blushes with a luminous sheen. At $49 each they are incredibly expensive but I’m happy to report that each one performed well and I think they’re exquisite!

Texture is soft and smooth. I like that the pigment is medium but easy to build and layer without looking or feeling heavy. They feel very natural on the skin and blend in seamlessly. Swatching on the arm/hand doesn’t do the product – they look so much prettier on the face!

The Luminous Matte Beauty Blushes are scented with a strong floral scent. It seems to fade after a few minutes (or it’s a scent my nose gets used to).

Lasting power is very good. The color stayed put on the cheeks all day. I think the packaging is really cute too!

01 Silky Rose is a light pink

02 Tender Apricot is a pale light peach

03 Radiant Pink is a healthy natural pink

04 Bright Coral is a soft coral

05 Rosy Beige is a mauve

Swatches of all five shades I hauled below:

Swatches on the face as well. For a more complete look I would have added some bronzer or highlighter for more depth and dimension but I just applied each blush by itself to give you an idea of what they look like alone.

It’s been a while since I did a dedicated Gucci Beauty review so in case you missed previous features, here are a few quick thoughts on some other items I’ve tried:

  • Gucci Natural Fluid Foundation in 280C – I love this formula for a traditional satin fluid foundation. It has medium to full coverage with a natural finish. It is long-wearing on me. Has a slight blurring effect.
  • Gucci Matte Beauty Powder Shade 05 – This is a nice pressed finishing powder with a natural finish. Has sheer coverage and looks very natural. Has a sweet floral scent.
  • Glow and Care Shine Lipstick – These are some of my favorite glossy lipsticks! Lots of nice colors to choose from! Sally Soft Honey is probably my favorite!
  • Eclat Soleil Luminous Bronzer – I have 3 shades and like 03 the best for a nice warm bronze with a subtle glow. Shades 1, 2 and 3 reviewed here.
  • Multipurpose Hydrating and Nourishing Balm – One of my favorite multi-purpose balms! I love this on the lips for moisture. Wish it came in a stick or squeeze tube form, but the formula is excellent.
  • L’Obscur Lengthening Mascara – A nice lengthening and defining mascara I’ve repurchased several times. I think it’s worth splurging on!
  • Brume de Beaute Beauty Mist – This is a lovely bi-phase refreshing mist and can also double as a setting spray. Feels super luxurious and makes the skin feel refreshed.
  • Glossy Nail Polish – Love the shade Annabel Rose for a beautiful neutral. I have a couple other colors and really like the formula for an opaque finish, long-lasting wear and flattering shades.

Gucci Beauty Luminous Matte Beauty Blush Review and Swatches

Overall really happy with the formula and colors! If I had to pick just 2, I would say 03 Radiant Pink and 04 Bright Coral are my top 2. I still think they are overpriced (even if it is Gucci). But they perform really well and I’m happy with them.

Available at Sephora, Nordstrom and Gucci.

Diptyque

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Collection

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Collection

As the ultimate Diptyque lover I could not resist picking up some of the new pieces from the Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Collection. This fall they’ve expanded their iconic scent 34 in a collection of new candle sizes and diffusers. The candles are cased in a beautiful off-white color. They’ve repackaged the room spray in a clear glass spritzer bottle to match the other scents.

The 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain scent is a green spicy floral. It’s a unique distinct scent with a mix of fresh green notes, moss, florals with a little bit of warm sharp spices swirled in. I’ve found it to be one of the strongest Diptyque scents I’ve tried with the most potent throw. It has a unique feel to it and if there’s one scent that sums up Diptyque I would say it’s definitely this one.

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Collection

At this time they’ve seem to have discontinued this in the original 220 g form (rounded rectangular porcelain format) as it’s nowhere to be found online now.

I purchased 3 of the items from the collection including the 300g Candle ($115), 600g 3-wick Porcelain Candle ($220) and the Room Spray ($78). This scent is also available in the Hourglass Diffuser, Car Diffuser, Electric Wall Diffuser, Home Fragrance Diffuser and Scented Oval and Outdoor Candle Size.

Room Spray

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Room Spray

I love room sprays as a nice home refresher. I’ve tried quite a few brands and the ones from Diptyque are very good. They have very good throw and strength. They linger for quite some time but of course will not last as long as a candle or diffuser. In our home we use Baies and Figuier the most. The 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain Room Spray is one we used to own in the original white packaging and it was one of Andrew’s favorites.

Diptyque Room Sprays

34 Boulevard Saint-Germain 300G Candle

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain 300G Candle

The 300 gram candles are larger than the standard ones which are 190 grams. The 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain variation comes in an off-white frosted glass jar. I think it’s a stunning one! This is the same size as their Color Scented Candles that come in the black, green, moss, amber and red jars. Since they are larger they do have a stronger throw than the standard ones. I’ve splurged on several before, I really love Amber during the fall-winter season for a nice alternative to pine or pumpkin scents. This one has about 75 hours of burn time.

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain 300G Candle

34 Boulevard Saint-Germain 3-Wick Candle 600G

Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain 3-Wick Candle 600G

I also splurged on the 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain 3-wick Candle ($220) which has 90 hours of burn time. This is made of porcelain with 3 wicks and has even stronger throw! Andrew and I have owned this size in the Baies, Feu de Bois and Roses. These are quite the splurge but the larger ones with multiple wicks really do have better throw.

Diptyque 34 Collection

I thought I’d add a few other thoughts on the other formats in this collection:

Diptyque Oval, Diffusers, Etc.

The Scented Ovals are beautiful and have decent throw straight out of the box. However they fade as time goes by and to me they just aren’t worth the splurge. They do make for a beautiful decorative piece but the scent’s lasting power is pretty much existent after a month.

The Home Fragrance Reed Diffuser has very strong continuous throw. The glass base is very thick and sturdy and it’s beautiful! The pros are that it lasts long, has good throw and makes for a beautiful accent piece. Cons are the basically the nature of reed diffusers. They’re continuous so you can’t really turn off the scent. Also the reeds catch dust particles and since they soak up the oil/scent any debris in the air sticks to it. However this is the case with any reed diffuser. All you need to do is wipe them down occasionally.

The Hourglass Diffuser is one of my favorite purchases from the brand. I first bought this as a gift to a friend one year. She loved it so much I decided to them buy one for our home. I prefer the hourglass diffuser to the reed version. You activate the diffuser by turning it over. When the fragrance flows from one side to the other and scent is dispersed into the air over an hour.

I tried the Car Diffuser when it first launched in 2018 and I was completely disappointed. It didn’t last long, didn’t grip well and it was extremely expensive. I’m not sure if they’ve changed the design at all since then but I did not have luck with these (even though they look beautiful!).

Diptyque 34 Collection

That wraps up my recent Diptyque haul! While these are quite the splurge they were 100% worth it for me as I love the scent! It’s been quite a long time since I’ve been to Paris but I still have fond memories. If you’ve been following a long time you might remember this photo from Paris 2015.

Are you a fan of the 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain scent? If not what is your go-to scent for the home during this time of year?

New Fall Beauty Launches Nordstrom

Fall beauty is trickling in and I have a mini haul with first impressions to share with picks from Nordstrom Beauty today! So many of you expressed interest in the new foundation from Westman Atelier and the Cle de Peau lipstick reformulation. I’m excited to have swatches and thoughts to share with you today!

Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Foundation & Stick Foundation Review VI

The Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Foundation is one of the most requested products to review and I ordered Shade VI to try. I picked it based on the color I use in the Vital Skin Foundation Stick and it’s a perfect match.

The Vital Skincare Complexion Foundation is one of the most dewy radiant bases I’ve tried. It has very natural coverage and is sheerer than the stick formula. I would say this is for normal to dry or dry skin types. It gives the skin a fresh faced glow. I like to use this layered with the stick foundation for more coverage and absolutely need to set with a powder. I like how natural it looks and skin feels well hydrated with this formula. For me it is a good layering base. I personally need more coverage to even out my skin so this is not one I can wear alone. Lasting power is pretty good for something this dewy – as long as I set with a powder well it stays looking fresh through the early afternoon without any touch ups needed.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Concealer

There are quite a few new concealers out and I think the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Concealer just might be one of my favorites. I wear either Shade 6 or 7 neutral in her Beautiful Skin Foundation so I ordered the concealer in Shades 6, 6.5 and 7.5 to try. The colors seem to run a lot lighter than the corresponding number for the foundations but they do warm up a bit on the skin once they set. Shade 6 is what I like for brightening under the eyes and it turned out to be warmer and a bit darker than 6.5.

I love the buildable coverage. It blends out nicely and brightens my under eye perfectly. Love that it doesn’t cake or crease. Lasting power is excellent. It’s pretty much everything I want in an under eye concealer.

Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Concealer

I have it swatched below next to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealers, Cle de Peau Concealer and the YSL Touche Eclat Concealer.

Concealer Swatches Charlotte Tilbury, NARS, Cle de Peau, YSL

Cle de Peau has reformulated quite a few of their items and I ordered one of the Luminizing Face Enhancers in Shade 203 to try. I own this color in the older formula and am really impressed with the new one. It has more pigment and shimmer payoff compared to the original. The new one is still natural looking on the skin for a radiant multi-dimensional shimmer.

Cle de Peau Luminizing Face Enhancers in Shade 203

For the eyes I’ve been loving all the new Chanel launches. The Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tweed Palettes are stunning. For fall I think the Shade 02 Tweed Pourpre has a lovely mix of purples for the season. I rarely wear purples but this one ended up being very wearable for me. I also picked up the new Les 4 Ombres 58 Intensite which keeps selling out but I highly recommend tracking it down when it restocks! It has a neutral-cool toned color palette for plums. I swatched it next to Warm Memories for comparison.

The Chanel Noir Allure Mascara is a winner for me! It comes in the same style as the Rouge Allure Lipsticks in the most beautiful pop up case. I like the formula although I don’t think it will be for everyone. It’s a nice defining mascara that doesn’t clump or smudge. It holds the curl nicely but there are other formulas that are better at volumizing and thickening (like the Le Volume de Chanel).

Cle de Peau Lipstick 11 Triumphant Tawny

Cle de Peau Lipstick 12 Power Mauve

Cle de Peau Lipstick 13 Positively Playful

Cle de Peau Shine Lipstick 211 Influential

Last but not least I have a quick look at the new reformulated Cle de Peau Lipsticks. I tried all three formulas in their Regular Lipstick, Lipstick Matte and Lipstick Shine. I’ve always thought Cle de Peau foundations were well worth the splurge but had mixed feelings about their lipsticks until now. The reformulation is incredible. At $65 each these are very spendy but the pigment is just beautiful. They have a smooth texture, rich color payoff and a lovely finish. Great lasting power and colors. The shines are sheerer than the other formulas but they have a beautiful glossy finish.

I have four of them on the lips below. My favorite is 13 Positively Playful although 11 Triumphant Tawny is a beautiful nude pink.

New Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tweed Eyeshadows

September 2, 2022

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tweed Eyeshadows

The new Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tweed Eyeshadow Palettes have arrived and they are stunning! The collection also features two new Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliners. I have swatches of everything for you today! Available now at Chanel and Nordstrom.

Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres Tweed Eyeshadow palettes are limited-edition inspired by the iconic Chanel tweed pattern. As a long time die hard Chanel fan I feel like these are truly special. They added so many extra special touches from the embossed tweed print on the shadows to the cute small tweed sleeves for each palette!

The shadows are soft and smooth. They have an almost bouncy feel to them. The finish/shimmer varies depending on the palette. Pigment also varies per palette depending on the individual shadow texture, but overall each one has a smooth finish.

01 Tweed Cuivre

01 Tweed Cuivre is my favorite out of all the palettes. It’s also the most shimmery. Colors include a deeper bronze shimmer, a medium bronze, a sandy gold shimmer (my favorite kind of tone) and a sparkley silvery gold topper. This is the palette of my dreams! I live for bronzey gold tones and this one is stunning. Pigment is medium but buildable. It reminds me a little bit of the Charlotte Tilbury Bella Sofia Palette but with different undertones.

02 Tweed Pourpre

02 Tweed Pourpre is a satin finish palette with purple and pink tones. Pigment is medium but with a dense brush you can build color. You can see the shimmer when light hits the skin, but on the eyes it has an almost semi-matte finish. Colors include a soft satin plum, a salmon pink with light pink shimmer, a muted mauve, a deeper plum. I didn’t manage to photograph a look with this one but I really love the look Erin Nicole did onYouTube! If you haven’t checked her out you definitely should!

03 Tweed Fauve

03 Tweed Fauve is a warm toned palette. I have not tried this on the eyes yet but it swatched smoothly and the colors layered well when I swatch tested them. Colors include a deep orange, a shimmery copper gold, satin brown, pretty peach shimmer. The color theme is very warm but has a cozy fall-vibe.

04 Tweed Brun Et Rose

04 Tweed Brun Et Rose is a neutral-cool toned palette with sheer-medium color payoff. You will need to use a dense brush with some layering to have the colors show up with more intensity but I think that is the beauty of this. You can create a soft smokey eye or a more dramatic look by layering more of the deep color.

below wearing Le Vernis in New Dawn

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tweed Eyeshadow 04 Tweed Brun Et Rose

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Tweed Eyeshadow 04 Tweed Brun Et Rose

It pulls more neutral-warm on my arm but on my eyes/face it looks more cool-toned. It has a soft oyster grey pearl (love this!), a warm taupe satin, a pale pink sparkle topper (so pretty) and a deeper cool brown. I packed them on very heavily in the swatch. This is my second favorite.

The color story reminds me of Mystic Eyes (original one with the square pans) and also of Tisse Rivoli. It also seems like it could be a softer less frosty version of Tom Ford Nude Dip.

Chanel Stylo Yeux Eyeliner Cuivre Dore and Bois Noir

Last I have a look at the two new Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliners ($34 each). Both colors are really beautiful. 52 Cuivre Dore is a copper shimmer and Bois Noir is a soft shimmer brown. Both give a subtle look to the eye. I think they’re beautiful!

Chanel Stylo Yeux Eyeliner Cuivre Dore and Bois Noir

I posted an Instagram Reel with video swatches to try and show the colors in action and in different lighting on Instagram. Overall I think the palettes are stunning. For me 01 Tweed Cuivre is the one I would say is a must-have for me because I love the color scheme and shimmer. 04 Tweed Brun Et Rose comes in close second, although I do think it’s dupeable.

02 Tweed Pourpre and 03 Tweed Fauve aren’t really colors I wear, but I do think they are beautiful palettes. I rarely ever wear purples but based on a few past looks I’ve done with purple palettes some of you have said I should wear it more!

August Favorites | The Beauty Lookbook

I can’t believe another month has flown by! Rounding up my favorites for the month of August. Would love to hear about your favorites too!

Chanel Beauty Favorites

Chanel has been hitting it out of the park these days! My go-to base is the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch (still wearing B40). I’m nearly finished with my first bottle. Below wearing the Les Beiges Water-Fresh Complexion Touch in B40 + the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in No 20. Full review here.

The new Rouge Allure Lipsticks have been solid winners for me too. I’ve been loving shades 194 and 196 the most. Below wearing 194. Swatches of all the colors I hauled here.

Chanel Rouge Allure 194 Sensibilite

I’m still a neutral nail lover at heart these days. Out of all the new neutral shades that launched Harmonie is by best beige neutral. Swatches here. Stay tuned for more Chanel newness on the blog! I have the Tweed Palettes and new mascara review coming soon!

For more color I think the Gucci Glow and Care Shine Lipstick in They Met in Argentina is the perfect healthy warm pink color. I love this formula in general – other great shades include Sally Soft Honey, Julie Blush, My Cousin Rachel and Call It a Day.

For eyes I rediscovered my Charlotte Tilbury Exaggereyes Eyeshadow Palette after buying the Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Shadow in Exaggereyes. The color theme is the same between the palette vs. single cream pot. Both make for a lovely neutral polished eye look.

Charlotte Tilbury Exaggereyes Eyeshadow Palette + Cream Shadow

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Eyeliners are pretty much the only eyeliners I wear these days. I love the buttery soft texture to line the eyes. The colors are ultra rich and pigmented. Since they are creamy I set with a powder shadow on top to help extend the wear. I use Cocoa and Black.

Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Eyeliners

I received a PR package with the Phlur Missing Person mini perfume along with the Shower Gel and Body Lotion and fell head over heels in love. I ordered the full size Missing Person perfume from Sephora and have been wearing it non-stop. It’s a lovely floral musk you can wear year round. Has a natural almost skin-like vibe to it.

Phlur Missing Person

UBeauty Plasma Lip, Biossance Oil, Hermes Nail Oil

For added hydration I’ve been really loving the U Beauty The Plasma Lip Compound for a lip treatment. I’ve been using the Biossance Squalane+ Vitamin C Rose Firming Oil at night and absolutely love it. Skin is noticeably more radiant and hydrated! They carry some good travel/trial sets I highly recommend checking out (like the Rapid Radiance Set for $35 or the Radiantly Rose Duo Set for $25).

The Hermes Les Main Hermes Nourishing Oil has been in heavy rotation for my cuticles for months now and I think it’s 100% worth the splurge. It has been hard to find as it sells out frequently but is currently in stock at Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Hermes.

Yves Durif Petite Vented Brush and Balmain Hair Clips

The Yves Durif Vented Brush now comes in a petite size and I ordered it recently from Saks. It’s just a tiny bit smaller than the regular version but just as good. I like having smaller options to travel with so this is perfect for me.

A lot of you shared lots of love for the Balmain Hair Clips I featured a couple months ago. I ordered the Medium size from Neiman Marcus and it sold out immediately. I just saw the Medium Tortoise pop up at Saks Fifth Avenue and ordered another Medium in Black and a couple Small Clips in White and Tortoise. These are really well made. I still don’t know how I justified the steep price tag in my mind but they’re really beautiful and I love them.

Bottega Veneta Mini Loop Bag in White

A few style loves this month I wanted to highlight! My love for mini bags continues although since upgrading my iPhone to the 13 Pro I’ve now found a few of my bags don’t fit my phone. The Bottega Veneta Mini Loop Bag luckily still fits my phone! This was a summer splurge and I still love it. The leather is soft and I love the woven design. I’m really beyond surprised I’ve managed to keep it clean (no stains or smudges!) without any effort. The leather has held up really well. They have this same style in a larger option which seems more practical.

My obsession with Celine sunglasses continues and my favorite pair are the 52 mm Oval in Blonde Havana (ones in the middle below). I ordered mine from the Celine website.

I feel like I live in sandals and slides here in Florida, but I do also love comfortable sneakers. A number of you asked if I found the Veja Venturi Sneakers comfortable and I do! They’re chunky but not too chunky. I read reviews and went with a Size US 6/37 EUR (I’m a true 6.5 or 7 in other shoes). They fit well and there was no break in period. Available at Revolve, Free People, Shopbop.

New Hair Care Tries & Current Loves

August 29, 2022

Hair Care Loves from Sephora

Sharing a roundup of some new hair care tries from Sephora today along with an update on other products I tried earlier this year!

Dae Monsoon Moisture Milk Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner

There are a few new shampoo and conditioner formulas out now. As a fan of the Dae Haircare line I immediately purchased the new Monsoon Moisture Milk Hydrating Shampoo ($26) and Monsoon Moisture Hydrating Conditioner ($26). Both are really nice for adding moisture back into the hair. The Shampoo lathers nicely and has a soft almost meadowfoam like scent to it. The Hydrating Conditioner is like a thick cream, but still has enough fluidity to pump out easily.

I really like both, but if you have normal/oily hair I’d recommend sticking with their Signature Shampoo and Conditioner (both also great and versatile, and they smell like bubblegum, in a good way!)

Olaplex No 4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo

I love Olaplex and they recently launched their No 4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo ($30) and I really like it. It’s a great clarifying formula to remove product buildup, sweat and dirt that accumulates. You do need to follow up with a conditioner or mask, I use their No 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner when I use this.

Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Cream

For hair care styling and anti-frizz treatments I have a few staples I wanted to give some love to. I’ve tried so many blow dry heat protectants and the Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Cream ($26) is one I keep going back to. It is a lightweight cream with the perfect texture for my hair. Doesn’t weigh it down, doesn’t end up being too thick, leaves hair smooth and soft!

dpHUE Color Fresh Leave-In Conditioner Mist

The dpHUE Color Fresh Leave-In Conditioner Mist ($28) continues to be a favorite leave in conditioner spray I use on damp hair.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo

For dry shampoo I really love the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Advanced Clean Dry Shampoo ($30). It has their fast-absorbing powders to soak up sweat. I still love the original version but have the advance formula in rotation right now. I brought the mini with me to Key West last month.

Leave in Hair Masks ColorWow, K18, Living Proof

For the weekly mask/treatment there are three I’ve been testing and really like. You don’t need all three. Pick one based on your hair type and needs. I think these are a nice alternative to the rinse out conditioner or rinse out mask because these you can leave in the hair.

The ColorWOW Dream Coat Supernatural Anti-Frizz Treatment ($28) is my favorite because of the formula and spritz style applicator. You can spray and coat your hair evenly and it lasts several shampoos. It acts like a keratin treatment to smooth out the hair.

Another great option is the K18 Biomimetic Hairscience Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask ($75). This is a leave-in treatment you use on towel dried or damp hair. When I use this I don’t use a rinse out conditioner. A little goes a long way. Leave it in the hair for about 5 minutes to activate before styling. Really works to smooth out hair and restore moisture.

The latest in leave-in treatments is the Living Proof Triple Bond Complex Leave-in Hair Treatment ($45). This is the newest one I’ve tried and I really like this one too. With this formula a little goes a very long way, so I’d say less is more. This is another product you leave in the hair after shampoo/cleansing. Leave it in 10 minutes before blow drying or heat styling. It’s designed to be a hair strengthener that leaves it smooth and shiny.

Beauty Favorites Lips

The Best Lip Balms, Oils & Plumpers I’ve Tried

August 24, 2022

Best Lip Balms

I’m the ultimate lip balm junkie. I always have at least one in my purse and a couple on my bedside table. It’s been a while since I did an updated roundup of my favorites! Since everyone has different preferences and tastes for what they want in a lip treatment, here are the best treatments I’ve tried. Split into 3 categories: clear treatments, tinted balms/oils and lip plumpers.

Clear Lip Balms & Treatments

Best Clear Lip Balms La Mer, Summer Fridays, U Beauty, Tatcha

Best Lip Balm Too Faced, Laneige and Biossance

I love a good clear lip treatment and there are so many formulas out there, it can be overwhelming. Here are the best ones I’ve tried.

La Mer The Lip Volumizer Lip Serum ($85 at Sephora, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus) is my most-worn lip treatment. It’s technically a lip volumizer, but I wear this as a balm. It has a smooth cushiony feel. Love that it has a wand/sponge applicator. I wear this at night when I’m sleeping because it hugs the lips nicely and smoothes them. Has a slightly minty scent. No tingle.

Summer Fridays Lip Butter ($23 at Sephora) is my second-most worn lip balm. I love the clear and tinted formulas. They perform equally well for a softly scented vanilla treat to the lips. Hydrating and smooth. Not sticky. Doesn’t feel like it will slide off the lips. Highly recommend.

U Beauty The Plasma Lip Compound ($68 at U Beauty, Saks, Nordstrom) was gifted to me by a friend. This is the first U Beauty product I’ve tried and it’s the ultimate splurge for the lips. It has a cushiony feel to plump and contour the lips. The metal applicator has an incredibly smooth cooling effect when you apply. It gives you that glass skin look for the lips. This one is unscented.

Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask ($28 at Sephora and Tatcha) is my favorite lip mask. It’s one I’ve used and loved for years. It’s one of the few in pot form that I’ll still use. These days I’m all about having a squeeze tube, wand or some sort of applicator instead. Hydrates, makes the lips soft, love the beautiful packaging too.

Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm ($26 at Sephora, Ulta Beauty, Target) is one of the best cushiony swipe and go kind of balms. Has a soft mango almost minty scent to it. The tinted versions are really fun too.

Laneige Lip Glowy Balm ($17 at Sephora) is the best flavored lip balm I’ve tried (one in the squeeze tubes). It is much better and more effective than the popular Lip Sleeping Mask which I’ve tried multiple times and just can’t fall in love. The Lip Glowy Balm is smoothing, hydrating, love the flavor options in Grapefruit and Gummy Bear.

Biossance Squalane+ Rose Vegan Lip Balm ($14 at Sephora and Biossance) this was an impulse buy at Sephora. After reviewing their skincare a number of you told me this was a favorite of yours from the line. It’s a really great thicker balm. If you’re looking for something that has a good thick texture this is a nice one to try.

Tinted Balms and Oils

Best Tinted Balms and Oils Bobbi Brown, NARS, Hermes and Makeup by Mario

For tinted options there are tons of great tinted balms out there. Most of them to me are more of a makeup product versus having skincare properties which isn’t bad. Sometimes I’m more focused on color, other times I want more hydration. These are some options I think excel equally for color + hydration.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Gloss ($32 at Sephora and Nordstrom) are my most-worn lip oils. They’re a oil-gloss with tint and the best colors are Free Spirit (left) and In the Buff (right, it’s the one that always gets me compliments). They’re medium in pigment with a glossy finish. Love how they feel and look. Swatches here.

NARS Afterglow Lip Balms ($28 at NARS, Sephora, Nordstrom) if I had to pick one tinted balm formula to wear the rest of my life it would be the Afterglow Lip Balms from NARS. I have every single color and love them. They add the perfect amount of color and shine. Color featured is Dolce Vita. These are the ultimate lazy girl lip tints. Review here.

Hermes Hermesisitble Infused Lip Care Oil ($55 at Saks, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus) these still remain my favorite lip oil for the fun scents, beautiful colors and hydrating formula. The applicator could be improved but the formula is so good I’m not going to dock points off. Review and swatches here.

Makeup By Mario MoistureGlow Plumping Lip Serum ($22 at Sephora and Makeup By Mario) love these for the hydrating soft balm formula and color. Every single color is beautiful. I’ve been ordering all of the Makeup by Mario exclusive colors that have been dropping Mondays this summer on their website. Will review + swatch soon.

Lip Plumper Treatments

Best Lip Plumpers Charlotte Tilbury, Dior, Lawless and PatrickTa

I rarely use lip plumpers because I already have full lips. I’m also very sensitive to tingles so I tend to only use plumpers that have a more smoothing effect.

Charlotte Tilbury Collagen Lip Bath ($35 at Sephora) is my favorite plumping lip product. It smooths lips, adds a lovely shine, adds volume. Refresh Rose and Pillow Talk always get compliment’s anytime I wear them alone or on top of a liner. Swatches here.

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss ($38 at Sephora and Dior) are also staples in my routine. I almost always have one of these with me in my bag. They’re smooth without any sting. Love the color range for a sheer wash of color. My favorite is Rosewood which I’ve used up and need to restock.

Lawless Forget the Filler Lip Plumper Line Smoothing Gloss ($25 at Sephora) in Cherry Vanilla is 100% worth the hype. This formula has so many mixed reviews. Some love it, others hate it. I’ve tried a wide range of colors and like some of them, others are too pale and thick. Cherry Vanilla is the best one for both the formula and color. It’s a sheer red that gives you the most luscious glass like pink red pout. It’s what I wanted the Fenty Gloss Bomb Heat to look like (but that one stings my lips too much).

Patrick TA Major Volume Plumping Gloss ($24 at Sephora) are really nice! Love these for a glass like shine, smooth texture, soft hint of color. These have a subtle cinnamon scent to them.

Tarte

Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip and Plump

Last but not least I had to give a shoutout to Tarte. You girls know I’m a huge fan of the Maracuja Juicy Lip Balm ($21 at Tarte, Sephora, Ulta Beauty) for a tinted balm. They’re the perfect effortless swipe and go kind of lip balm. The best shades are Grapefruit and Rose.

I also really love their newer Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plump ($21). The colors are all very wearable. These have a noticeable plumping effect on the lips with a tiny bit of tingle. 100% recommend both.
