Highlighters Natasha Denona

Natasha Denona Spring 2018

Natasha Denona Spring 2018 Diamond and Blush Palettes | The Beauty Look Book

Natasha Denona Spring 2018 has two new stunning palettes called Diamond and Blush ($89 each for 6 x 7 g/0.25 oz) and three new shadows called Duo Chrome Top Coat ($28 each for 0.2 oz/ 6 g). The collection is all about the glow with multi-dimensional finishes and textures. I think highlighters and glow are here to stay for quite some time!

Duo Chrome Top Coats

Up first are the Duo Chrome Top Coats which are similar in packaging to the Crystal Top Coats from holiday. The new ones for spring have a more finely milled shimmer with a clear duochrome finish while the Crystal ones were more sparkly. Finish and texture is cream to powder and for me these are best applied with the fingers dabbed onto the lids. Pigment is sheer to medium but buildable. For me the Spring Duo Chrome Top Coats are too trendy for me to pull off. There are three shades:

  • Brown Mauve/Purple is a mauve pink with purple shimmer
  • Burnt Terracotta/Green is a yellow terracotta that flashes green
  • Lavender/Gold and Silver is a pale lilac lavender with gold and silver shimmers

The only shade that had fallout on me was the lavender one. The others went on the lids smoothly and blend well together. Even though the Crystal Top Coats are a lot more sparkly, I feel like I can wear those because the bases are more neutral.

Diamond and Blush Palettes

The Diamond and Blush Palettes are absolutely gorgeous! After seeing them in action on Natasha Denona’s Instagram @natashadenona I was a bit worried these would be way too intense on the shimmer and color. You can definitely apply them and build intensity for a stunning glow, but if you’re like me and prefer a more conservative look the good news is you can blend and sheer out the products for a more natural looking finish. First I need to take a moment to say how pretty the packaging is. The pink is the prettiest shade of pink! The tops of both palettes are identical but they are almost holographic in the labels – you can see below just different angles with the light hitting shows different variations!

Each palette has three different finishes Diamond, Blush and Glow and each finish comes in a Cream and Powder form (6 colors total per palette). Darya is the pink option and I’m completely obsessed with the colors. Everything blends out beautifully on the skin and you can control intensity or sheerness easily by layering and blending. Top pink is Darya. Bottom peach is Citrus.

Based on the product descriptions I thought the Palette Duo Glows would be similar to the individual Duo Glows she launched last year. I found them completely different in finish/texture so instead I’ve compared the individual Duo Glows to the Powder Blush in the palettes (hope that’s not too confusing). I also pulled a couple of her individual Glow Powders to compare below.

Bottom line: very much on trend but not too trendy for me (yay!). I 100% recommend the Diamond and Blush Palettes. The glittery diamond powder is a bit much for my face but I can wear it easily on the eyes as an accent or shadow. Since there are lots of sparkles and shimmer flecks with the Diamond Powder and Glow Extreme there will be some fall out if you apply with a brush. It’s easy to clean up though and once everything is on the face it pretty much stays put. I love that the palettes are glowy but the creams aren’t too emollient so they don’t get oily (at least not on me).

For me the Duo Chrome Top Coats are a pass simply because I don’t wear those kinds of colors. Yes I’m a bit boring when it comes to eyeshadow, but what can I say, neutral is how I like it.

You can find the Natasha Denona Spring 2018 collection at Sephora and Beautylish. Definitely check out the tutorials and swatches on @NatashaDenona Instagram because it will give you a better idea of how much pigment you can build.

I think these palettes are absolutely beautiful, but the price tag is a deal breaker for me, because I know there are elements of it I wouldn’t ever ever wear. I wish she had the option to buy the cream blushes and highlights individually. Maybe even the powder blushes. But oh well.
More and more these trends are beginning to wear me out. Meh.

Nothing wrong with “being boring”! You like what you like, no apologies needed. 🙂

  • Ilina Sandler January 26, 2018 at 3:47 pm

The Duo Chrome Top Coats are pretty, but its hard to shell out $$$ when Colour Pop has similar products for much less. Great post, as always!

  • Eileen January 27, 2018 at 8:50 am

You look like the prettiest Valentine ever in that pink color scheme ❤️ Glitter and glow seem to be key words in the makeup trends for spring and I’m glad to see it is more about restraint than an all-over glitter fest. I’m also loving the return to glossy lips and can hardly wait to try one of the new CdP glosses.

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:16 pm

Awwww thank yo Eileen – you are the sweetest!

  • MALINA CRISTESCU January 27, 2018 at 11:40 am

Wow, I have seen these on your Instagram and then Tati’s unboxing and I am in love.
I love blushes very much with minimal make-up (only some mascara and lip gloss) and the colors in these are just so beautiful, I wish I could afford something like this 😀
Thank you for make me dream though with these

Hi! Your swatches are always so beautiful.
Was curious which one do you like better on you, citrus or Darya? Since I have similar complexion to you.

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:16 pm

Tough pick, I like Citrus a lot!

  • Katka Prazmova Pivarci January 27, 2018 at 4:24 pm

So happy that you reciew these!! I really like Darya!!

  • Anne Capitant January 27, 2018 at 5:59 pm

I’m not actually a huge fan of these, simply because I’m not super into the shimmer and shine trend. But that just saves me money then lol.

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:16 pm

      Yay for saving you money!

  • Laura Schmaltz January 27, 2018 at 7:42 pm

Those Diamond and Blush palettes are stunning, but $89! Yikes! Don’t think I can justify that… and I hate mixing cream and powder product in the same palette…

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:16 pm

Pricey indeed, but you do get 6 colors!

  • talker blogger January 27, 2018 at 8:28 pm

I have never heard the brand name Sabrina but the blush palettes are gorgeous!!! The price… that’s too steep!

  • Laurie M. January 28, 2018 at 12:21 am

Darya all the way! I am curious tho if it’s just highlighters or can I use the pallate all over the face and eyes ?

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:15 pm

I put them on my eyes but I’m not sure if it’s eye-safe. Seemed to work for me!

Beautiful pallets but nor for me – too shimmery )

  • Katie January 29, 2018 at 1:29 pm

These are very pretty, but I gotta agree with Anastasiya – too shimmery for me too 🙂

  • Holly January 29, 2018 at 4:57 pm

These are so gorgeous! Originally, I felt that layering six products all at once seems excessive. After reading/hearing more and more positive reviews & seeing beautiful looks with all six products used combined with your beautiful swatches, I am more and more intrigued!

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:14 pm

Hahaaaaa YES. I thought about putting all six colors on my face but did think that was going to overdoing it. The combinations of 2-3 shades on the cheeks seem to work best for me though!

  • Lauren January 29, 2018 at 5:51 pm

I don’t think they’d work for my skin tone but they’re pretty pallets!

  • Katrin Bartas January 29, 2018 at 6:08 pm

Oh I really want Darya! It’s so beautiful… But it feels too shimmery 🙁

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:13 pm

If you can try it at a local Sephora it might change your mind!

  • Christina January 29, 2018 at 6:31 pm

Super shimmery, but I love the Darya palette.

  • Lisa L January 29, 2018 at 8:00 pm

I’ve never tried Natasha Denona products but the palettes looks amazing.

  • Ashley B. January 29, 2018 at 8:05 pm

    These look stunning!

  • Marina January 29, 2018 at 8:07 pm

This is new brand for me, I need to explore it more. But overall look fantastic!

  • Jenn E January 29, 2018 at 11:35 pm

These palettes are so put together. I especially love that each has three different finishes. The Citrus palette would be a go-to palette for me!

    • BeautyLookBook January 30, 2018 at 3:13 pm

I agree, the combination in each palette is truly stunning.

  • Jennifer January 30, 2018 at 5:02 pm

That yellow highlighter in the Citrus palette looks so unique. I would definitely get that shade if singles were available.

  • Rachel T January 30, 2018 at 5:24 pm

I like the idea below about individual shades…. some of these are way too glittery for me!

  • Ashley January 30, 2018 at 5:33 pm

I love blush but the amount of glitter/shimmer + the price is a major drawback for me.

  • dollfeis January 30, 2018 at 6:00 pm

The blush palettes are literally irresistible! I think I need them both!

  • Jenny B January 30, 2018 at 7:45 pm

I too love the Natasha Denona packaging. The shades in the Darya is up my alley! All the shades are so pretty.

  • Kamilla January 30, 2018 at 8:49 pm

I love her products, to bad they are so expansive.

  • Stephanie January 31, 2018 at 2:33 am

The Citrus palette looks gorgeous. Did you try the Duo Glow as highlighter on the cheek? Or was it too yellow so you used it on the eyes?

  • Breanna Pollard January 31, 2018 at 10:34 pm

you look stunning and I love this post

  • Lindsay A. January 31, 2018 at 11:24 pm

I actually hadn’t heard of the Natasha Deona brand before, & I love the Darya palette – the pink option is perfect for my complexion! Love how much detail you went into with the writeup & photos, really helped me get a good sense of what it’ll be like & I’ll have to head to Sephora for a look!

  • Becca Quach January 31, 2018 at 11:40 pm

The packaging is so cute! One day I’ll buy one of her palettes..

  • Nathalee Arellano Dente February 5, 2018 at 4:13 am

Hello may I ask, which palette would you recommend for med/tan skin NC37-NC40 in Mac for reference?
    Thank you 😊
