Best Beauty Tools and Accessories 2017

December 31, 2017

Best Beauty Tools and Accessories | Beauty Look Book

This is the last post of the 2017 where I round up my best beauty tools and accessory finds of the year. Ideally I’d love to find just one brush line that has all the tools I need but I have yet to find one. These are my favorites from this year. Press samples listed with a *.

Best Beauty Tools and Accessories 2017

  • The Daily Edited Large Cosmetic Bag –  Taupe shown, I also have it in Black (shown here and here). This is one of my best makeup bag buys. I reviewed it in more depth with my Travel Beauty Cases post and mentioned that while it’s super functional and sturdy the quality isn’t 100%. I still find that for the price, the shape and size is really good and both have served me well this year.
  • Away Mini Suitcase * – These came back this year and sold out super fast! I tried to review as soon as they came out and hope you were able to buy one! It’s not really intended for just beauty, but you can carry pretty much anything small inside. Review and interior shown here. I really hope they bring this back permanently!
  • Glamcor Riki Skinny Vanity Mirror from Beautylish – This mirror is one of the best things I’ve tried, it lights up with adjustable brightness. It also comes with a stand to prop up and the center is magnetized to hold a magnifying mirror and cell phone holder to do lit selfies. I’ve been a longtime fan of simplehuman sensor mirrors, but with the round ones you have to get up close to see your face and often times you can’t see your entire face. This one from Glamcor doesn’t have the same quality magnification as simplehuman, but sometimes all you need is a larger mirror with lights to do your makeup. It’s portable enough that I’ve been taking it with me each move.
  • Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer – Best hairdryer splurge ever. My review here and yes 100% worth every penny.
  • Tatcha Original Aburatorigami Japanese Beauty Papers – The only blotting papers I use as they absorb excess oil without disturbing your makeup. Also love that there’s no powder on it like some others so it won’t leave the face looking dusty or white. In San Diego one would do the trick. In Florida sometimes I needed 3, but even when soaked with sweat they don’t fall apart or disintegrate.
  • Glamboxes Glamboard Tray – This isn’t new to me this year but I’ve found it great to hold beauty essentials that I need in the moment. Sometimes I just want a tray that can hold what I need for a full face and this does the trick. Any small tray will do but this has pull out drawers that can expand across a sink if you do your makeup in the bathroom and don’t want things rolling around your counter.
  • MAC Full Lash Curler – The best lash curler I’ve used for a long time since my favorite one from Chanel was discontinued. The MAC ones perform well without pinching the sides of my eyes.
  • beautyblender original and beautyblender nude – These are the best makeup sponges and I find that they work better than any foundation brush. You can find a better value in their Gold Mine Set which is limited-edition. They often have value sets or packs so I’d recommend you opt for those instead since they can be spendy.
  • Wayne Goss Makeup Brushes * are available exclusively at Beautylish. I’ve been so impressed with every single one I’ve tried. The quality is excellent, they’re super soft, there is never any poking on the face. The sets are expensive but every single brush is well made and very functional for flawless makeup application. They really do perform better than your average brush. Also if you buy brushes from any line individually they’re going to add up in price so if you break it down they’re actually very reasonably priced.
  • Chanel Makeup Brushes * were redesigned this year. I was really impressed with the new sleek design and quality. my favorite three are the Precision Powder Brush, Flat Eyeshadow Brush and Eye Contouring Brush. Full review of the lineup here.
  • MAC Brush 239 (now 239S) – The 239 is a classic but has recently been discontinued. All the brushes are being redesigned/relaunched in a Synthetic Version. Online at MAC the product says “coming soon” but you may be able to find them in MAC stores now. It’s where I found mine and it performs the same as the original version. This is the classic eyeshadow brush for me because of the shape and density!
  • MAC Brush 140S – Best large flat powder brush I tried this year.
  • La Mer The Powder Brush – Best loose powder brush I’ve ever tried as well, worth the splurge to me because it’s sooooo soft and plush!
  • Last but not least, this isn’t really a beauty tool or accessory but I had to include it, the Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic Throw was the best splurge of the year and a lot of their items are on sale for 20% off right now at Nordstrom (not sure how long this is going on). It’s the softest and warmest blanket I’ve ever bought and so cozy.

That wraps up my Best Beauty Tools and Accessories 2017 roundup for the year! I’m doing one last giveaway for the year, I’m picking 5 people to win one $75 eGift Card to Sephora (US). Enter through the widget below! Open internationally but you must be 18 years or older to qualify for an entry. I’ll pick a winner within 48 hours after the giveaway ends by e-mail. • bebe tc

    La prairie Loose por ser
    Beauty Blender
    Wayne Goss eye brush #16
    Mario Madescu enzyme cleanser

And so many more but does are my top dic e. Happy new year pretty Lady 😗

  • inkchick

My Clarisonic will always be my favorite thing. I also love my NuFace Mini, my Sephora highlight brush, my Beauty Junkeez eyeshadow brushes, and my Liz Earle Pure Muslin Cloth.

  • I don’t know if I can come up with all 5 here. Let’s see ;D – Muji unbleached cotton squares, MAC 217, MAC 219, Chanel Pinceau Kabuki (this is my touch-up brush in the makeup pouch). Oh, and I love that silicone dish sponge for cleaning my brush, if that counts. ;D

    Happy new year, Sabrina!

  • J Lee

Still love the beauty blender (original and the black one since it looks less unsightly after using), Daiso cotton squares (hard to beat 150 for $1.50), and have been using Shiseido blotting papers for about 20 years now. Having really oily skin, I find these make me the most matte, which I know is not for everyone but is crucial for me. Happy new year, Sabrina!

  • Whitney Lau

My foreo mini – perfect for travel, wet brush and beauty blender (finally got on the train!). Love my current Mac and tom ford brushes.

  • teadivamuse

I finally tried Zoeva brushes this year and they are all excellent in quality and performance.

  • Jacy Medrano

I tried Wayne God’s brushes and they’re great!

  • teadivamuse

Oops, ok, five items; Zoeva brushes, especially their eye brushes, the very large cotton rectangles you can get only at Kroeger, Mason Pearson dual bristle large hairbrush is a classic that is made to last-no built-in obsolescence there!, zoeva’s large travel makeup case and muji’s beauty accessories online. They are cheap “as chips” as the Brits say and extremely functional and come in myriad shapes and sizes.

  • Kim Pincombe-Cole

My top 5 most used beauty items:
    *Clarisonic MIA
    *Beauty Blender
    *IT Cosmetics Makeup Brushes
    *Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
    *Wet Brush

  • Karen E Young

I wasn’t completely sure about spending that much money on a hair dryer but when I read your review for the Dyson one – I was sold. Thanks for being an enabler! 😉

  • Jenn E

My top faves are the Anastasia tweezers, Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler, Clarisonic mia, tangle teezer, and Lancome blending shadow brush #17!

  • KT

I have a handful of will-give-up-when-dead tools: Shu Uemera lash curler, Chikuhodo Z-4 cheek brush, Wayne Goss 14, Wayne Goss Air Brush, and Anastasia #7 brush for brows.

  • I am seriously considering the Dyson hairdryer after reading your reviews!

  • Laura Schmaltz

Top 5 tools… probably my Clarisonic is still #1, Sephora train case I purchased during the fall sale is #2, I have used a ton of Z Palettes this year so those are #3, Tweezerman tweezers are #4, and my Sephora solid brush cleaner at #5 – so good and inexpensive!

  • Alison

My most used tools are the Zoeva concealer brush, oversized organic cotton rounds… um. I do have the Epson but have been air drying my hair — up until today when it is so bitterly cold, that i took it out and used it with the diffuser attachment, and I must say it is amazing. It did the job quickly, gave volume. My hair is past shoulder length, baby fine and dry so will have to see how it tolerates the heat. I also have a bunch of 217s and 239’s. I can’t believe that they are changing that brush. Terrible. Oh, and I do love the Sephora Brush Cleaner Sponge. I use it every time I do my makeup. Got a back up. I guess I would have to add plain black rubberized pony tail holders and drug store hand held magnifying mirror. Probably due for an upgrade.

  • Suzanne Lewinson

    My top 5 are:
    1)Wet Brush
    2)Derma Quest micro roller
    3)Clairsonic Aria
    4)GloPro microneedler
5)My forever faithful Babyliss ceramic extreme hairdryer. I refuse to buy anything else!

Thank you for the reviews and recs Sabrina. Happy New Year!!

  • Anna

Oh! So many new things to try!!! 🙂

  • Laurie M.

I’m still looking for an HG in lots of tool categories, I’m afraid. But I do love my Simplehuman mirror, Shiseido cotton squares, Tweezerman tweezers, Eve Lom muslin cloths (they are just the right size and weight), and a MAC blush brush that is so old that it uses a different numbering system from the current one!

  • A C

You e got me hooked on away luggage. Plan on buying more soon.

  • Becca Beth A

Love my pink beauty blender, Shu Uemera eyelash curler, Tom Ford brushes, simplehuman sensor mirror, and my many acrylic organizers to keep everything tidy!

  • Bojana

Face brushes, mostly from real techniques and one sponge by Artdeco (fantastic for sheer coverage). I also started to clean my face with one nice face brush originally meant for powders (by blush) but I found a new use for that big fluffy brush.Happy New Year and all the best!

  • jingorokitty

My top 5 tools… Hmmm… I’ll go with Shiseido Facial Cotton, Wayne Goss brushes, BabylissPro MiraCurl automatic curler, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, and the Sigma brush cleaning glove.

  • Lyse Davitt

Shiseido cotton, Dry Bar three day bender, Cinema Secrets brush cleaner, MAC 217 brush and the Real Techniques sponge.

  • Ingrid Neubarth

That mirror is on my wish list. Thanks for the review!

  • Anne D

The LaMer powder brush, the original BeautyBlender, the Laura Mercier eyelash curler, a microneedler I ordered from Amazon and Hot Tools Self Grip Rollers. The Dyson is on my wish list for 2018! I love your reviews Sabrina! Happy New Year!

  • Amy Shin

Nothing earth shattering but recently started blow drying my hair again after not doing it for a while for fear of drying it out but blow-drying it helps my hair not be as unruly. Currently jut using a dryer from Target. Seeing your review got me interested in the Dyson for the future.

  • Lydia Jones

Hi Sabrina! My two favorite accessories for the year were the MAC 140SE brush that I discovered in the Whisper of Guilt Holiday Set this year and my tried and true It Cosmetics bronzer brush!! Thanks for the giveaway and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • Jeska Gorman Harris

My favorite tools have been Shu Uemera Eyelash Curler, Tyme Hair Curler, Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Brush, Elchim Hairdryer and several of the morphe makeup brushes! Love the posts!

Clarisonic, Bobbi Brown lash curler, beauty blender, petunia picklebottom train bag, Bobbi Brown luxury brush set.

  • Tatiana

    Missha Silk Feel Cottons
    Wayne Goss 00 Brush
    Chanel Retractable Dual-Tip Eyeshadow Brush
    T3 hair dryer
    My fingers

  • Swingtime

Wow, tough one! Mine would have to be:

    – Clarisonic (with the Radiance Brush Head)–still loving it.
    – Ulta Facial Buff Sponges–for spot-use on the face, scrubbing ragged cuticles for a quick fix, cleaning the corners of sample containers for re-use–I keep finding uses for these cheap little gems.
    – Ecotools mini sponges–I’m not a big BeautyBlender user, but these have perfect flat and narrow areas for getting into the inner corner of the eye and directly under the eye, plus have the traditional egg shape for blending concealer. Perfect.
    – Vincent Longo Mini Eyelash Curler–I’ve never found a curler that really fits my eye. This curls in sections, so I can get a perfect curl on all of my lashes. Takes a little longer, but it’s worth it.
    – John Frieda Hot Air Brush–I had a thumb injury and was really having difficulty using a dryer and brush. This makes my hair (short bob) come out perfect in no time, and I can style with one hand.

  • Kathy C

Beseme powder brush, Clarisonic, zoeva eye brushes, it cosmetics foundation brush and hot tools curling iron. Happy New Year

  • Hayley Choe

Shiseido cotton, Wayne Goss brushes, Anna Sui hairbrush, SimpleHuman mirror, Tweezerman tweezers (realized how important they are when hubs ‘borrowed'(i.e. claimed as his own) mines 😂

  • Amanda Jimenez

My top beauty tools were the Shiseido facial cotton, Tarte eyelash curler, Beautyblender pure, Luxie Rose Gold Tapered Highlighting Face Brush 522 and the Face Halo. If you haven’t tried the face halo yet it’s amazing!

  • MBAMommy

    Top 5 beauty tools include:
    1. Beautyblender sponges
    2. Heated eyelash curlers
    3. Babyliss pro hairdryer
    4. Shiseido facial cotton
    5. Sultra 1.25” curling iron

  • Petunia

I love my Beauty Blender, a good ol’ Q tip, the It Cosmetics Ball brush, Kevyn Aucoin lash curler, and my T3 dryer! Happy New Year!

  • Best face products were the L’Oreal sponge, Eco Tools sponge, Real Technique brushes, exfoliating cotton rounds, and the Wet Brush.

  • Rosierey

Thanks for posting about the Glamcor Riki mirror. I have the Simplehuman but a lot of times the auto on led doesn’t work so it’s been frustrating to use.

  • Edhilvia Campos

Best wishes and Happy New Year!

  • MALINA CRISTESCU

Might sound weird but I have a small obsession with smudge brushes, I have so many ….

  • Kelly Franklin

Tysm for the opportunity to win the gift card. I adore your blog (and you). Love, love, love all the Wayne Goss brushes!

  • lisamhampton

microfiber hair towel, salux washcloth, refillable travel perfume rollerball, cuticle oil pen

  • Alix

Hope they bring back that cute Away case… Happy New Year, Sabrina!

  • Kristen Hlozek

The Real Techniques Blend and Blur (Artis dupe) foundation brush was my best find of the year.

  • Anna Wang

My top beauty tools are the Wayne Goss air brush, my tarte eyelash curler, the trestique mini bag for lip products (so cute and compact!), cotton rounds from Costco, and lots and lots of qtips for my eyeliner mistakes =P

  • Anne Capitant

BeautyBlenders really are the best. I’ve tried plenty of dupes but none come close. Glad I have a bunch of backups then! Also, I really need to go check out the new Chanel brushes. It’ll be a while before I could afford one (thanks medical bills!), but I at least want to see/feel them in person.

    Top five tools for me:
    1. BeautyBlender, because duh.
    2. Zoeva 110 Face Shape brush, for non-BeautyBlender foundation/concealer stuff.
    3. The Shu Uemura Next Generation Eyelash s Curler, which is the half-size one which is amazing for curling all lashes, even the tiny edge ones.
    4. Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt brush, which I’ve just found myself reaching for a ton this year.
    5. Sephora crystal nail file (or really any crystal nail file) which has been way better on my nails that the old school kind I used to use years ago.

  • Jessica

I went back to my Beautyblender after using the Real Techniques one for awhile and I fell in love all over again.
I also love the Koji eyelash curler for my flat Asian eyes. The much hyped Shu Uemura was not getting all my lashes, even though that’s also a Japanese brand!
Cotton pads by Unicharm are amazing! They’re like the thinnest felt and one drop soaks the pad and transfers all the product to the face. Ordinary cotton pads just soak up the product and hold on to it.
Applying loose powder with the puff has definitely been an eye opener, it evenly presses a the powder in instead of getting swirled around with a brush and disturbing the makeup underneath.
And I’ve been repurposing my baby’s muslin cloths and face face cloths to wiped off masks and makeup remover balms, which makes things so quick and less messy!

  • Stella Helen Diep

Shiseido cotton, Chanel blush brush, tweezerman tweezers, shu umera eyelash curler, and t3 mini travel flat iron

  • Susan

What a dreamy list! My best discoveries would have to be the gold Tweezerman eyelash curler (Sephora) for round eyes. Like the Shu original, it fits my lashes without pinching. The Louise Young powder/bronzer brush LY07S (Harvey Nichols) is cloud-soft and luxurious yet still dense, it perfectly applies and diffuses bronzer like no other I’ve tried. (Love the shorter handle, too–gives more control and so perfect for travel.)

  • Catherine Shi

Great picks! I’m super interested in the big mirror (you’re definitely right about round ones) and it never occurred to me to expand a glambox tray to put across the sink! I’ve been struggling with the setup of my vanity (our apartment just didn’t work for me to be able to put it somewhere close to natural morning light and I’ve been disappointed by the lighted mirror I got (too harsh, even with all the settings it has)) but maybe picking out a full face and moving to where the light is good is the answer!

My top 5 beauty tools of the year were:
    1. Fenty full-bodied foundation brush
    2. T3 Featherweight luxe 2i (finally replaced my 8yo Hana)
    3. NARS Yachiyo
    4. Koji Curving Eyelash Curler (contrary to the name, has a very wide mild curve good for flatter eyes)
    5. Everyday Minerals eye buki (still my favorite blender)

    Happy New Year, Sabrina!

  • Jeanie M.

I do not have any great tools. That is something I need to remedy soon.

  • Thanh Le

That mirror is on my wish list. Thanks for the reviewing it!

  • Dana Li

Best tool of the year for me: my tweezermax round eye eyelash curler! Finally, a curler that gets at the roots of my lashes without pinching 🙂

  • Lovely Planner

Favourite 2017 Beauty products for me were Diorskin Nude Air Serum foundation and Surratt Beauty blushes. On the skincare side would be Paula’s Choice Calm line, specifically her SPF moisturizer.

  • Linda S.

I love my Wayne Goss air brush and my simple human mirror.

  • Alex

The wayne goss brushes are so refreshingly awesome to use.

  • My favourite products of the year are-Crown Paddle brush-greatest foundation brush ever!, Sephora Crystal Nail File-can’t be without it now, MAC 239-best lid brush, Mini Beauty Blender-blends concealer perfectly, and lastly P-Touch labeler-seems weird but its great having everything labeled, I can find things!

  • Kaja Elisabeth Budd Hytland

I don’t think I can manage to name five fav tools, but top three would be Surratt eyelash curler, those flat silicone brushes for cleansing (basically a $1 manual Foreo) and as always, Tom Ford brushes.

  • Carla Rene

My 3 favorite Real Techniques brushes, Beautyblender, and travel train case.

  • Yiing Zhi Teh

    1. Muji acrylic drawers
    2. ELF powder brush
    3. Dior foundation brush
    4. Anna Sui blush brush
    5. Shiseido cotton squares

  • Maureen

This is the hardest category for me! RMK face brush (love them but hard to find), Mac eye brushes, Tweezerman tweezers, Lancome makeup case for travel, ABH eyebrow brush.

  • Amy K

I don’t think I bought any new beauty tools this year?! Aside from a beauty blender dupe, which I wasn’t impressed with.

  • Meghan M

Thank you for such a great post! My top 5 beauty tools this year are

    1. The original beauty blender
    2. Marc Jacobs bronzer brush no. 12
    3. Tweezerman procurl eyelash curler
    4. Costal scents brush affair blrush set
    5. IT Cosmetics foundation brush

  • i just got into makeup this year so i have basic beauty tools right now and the ones i use most are my blender sponge, eyelash curler, foundation brush and my mirror which is like yours however its a low budget one i got off amazon. i had never even stepped foot into an ulta/sephora before this year so i mean it when i say i am a very beginner when it comes to makeup lol

  • DeeDee

Makeup eraser, cosrx acne dots, beauty blender, shiseido facial cotton, sigma f37 brush.

  • Gail A

Chanel new Blush brush. The best I have ever used
    Chanel Presision Powder brush
MAC eye lash curler. My old fav was Chanel. Why did they discontinue that
MAC full size and short powder flat brush -140
MAC 221. Which is a baby to 217 but I think it’s only short now. Why do they do that

    Happy New Year

  • Rosie

My Shiseido Eyelash Curler, Sephora Lift off lash comb, Tweezerman slant tweezers, Clinique eye pencil sharpener and Drybar detangler brush. Luv! I could go on!

  • Valerie Manke

    Tweezerman tweezers
    Makeup eraser

  • Leann

The Dyson Hairdryer remains on my wish list – I’m going to take the plunge soon I hope!

  • Lauren Meehan

To me, Shisheido Facial Cotton, The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5, Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask, Josie Maran Body Butter, and Jordan Samuel After Show Treatment Cleanser made my 2017!

  • My top 5 beauty tools the Ecotools makeup sponges, my Sephora PRO Angled Blush Brush #49, the Sephora PRO Contour Brush #79, the Sephora x Utowa eyelash curlers, and the NYX Pro Blending brush (#16, I think?)

  • lawler

My favorite tools: Koh Gen Do facial cotton squares, Simple Human makeup mirror, a set of mini tweezers I got at Sephora for $5, a makeup bag from Shu Uemura that is sturdy and opens into a flat tray-like container when unzipped, and my acrylic containers I got at Dollar Tree. They make my makeup collection look like a million bucks!

  • murphmeister

My top five are my clarisonic radiance (curious on the full size), my nuface mini, tweezeman brow scissors, tweezerman brow spooly brush, and twinkle mini razor

  • Sara Junya

Happy new year, Sabrina! Top tools: Muji facial cotton squares, It! Cosmetics contour brush set, my hands!

  • Charli Griffith

My top 5 are 1) Swisspers cotton rounds (I tried theShiseido squares & I just wasn’t impressed), 2) my Chanel eyelash curler 3) Tom Ford blush brush 4) a Bumble & Bumble makeup bag, it’s made out of a thick material & protects my eyeshadow palettes perfectly during travel 5) Sephora makeup travel case, it’s big & bulky but so beautiful so I only use it for car travel. It is black with flowers printed all over, I love flowers against a black background I think it’s so elegant and beautiful.
I always enjoy your posts! Thank you so much for such a fabulous blog!

  • Daphney Degand

My top 5 beauty tools would be my new Marc Jacobs The Face I foundation brush. My Real Techniques blush brush and Real Techniques face expert brush. Shiseido cotton pads are always a favourite. I don’t have a #5 yet but I believe it will be my new set of eyeshadow brushes once I settle on one! And then, hopefully, I can join DRTVrMoi and Nic, and refrain from buying anymore more tools for the year (I can’t promise anything on actual makeup 🙂 ).

  • I love the beautyblender mini since I typically only do a little bit of concealer. I also love the Anastasia brow brush #14.

  • cpbebe

Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting brush, taste eyelash curler, tweezerman pointed tip travel tweezers, Laura Mercier blush brush.

  • BluBaBy630

My top 5 would be Shiseido cotton (I cut these into 4ths because theyre way too big for my face), Shu lash curler, glass nail file, generic face razors, and MAC 219 pencil brush.

    • lawler

I used to cut my KohGenDo squares but then realized I needed more area from time to time depending on the job. So now I’m dividing the box and cutting some 1/4, some in halves and leaving some intact. That is working out well.

  • Marina

I have discovered new brush from Chanel – retractable foundation brush and was very impressed with that. Such a great buy and very good to use with the Chanel gel touch healthy glow Les beiges. 🙂

  • Mary

Top 5 beauty tools for me were: Wayne Goss brushes, Mia 2, beauty blender, tweezerman tweezers & Charlotte Tilbury eyelash curler.

  • kelly ☾

my top 5 – Shiseido Cotton Squares, Foreo Luna cleaning device, Tweezerman tweezers, Surratt lash curler, and Q-Tips!

  • My Beautyblender – have tried and tried other gurus suggestions and can’t get on board, microfiber clothes for doublecleansing have made a world of difference in my routine, I use the brush the comes with the Chanel Illusion d’Ombres for doing my brows when I use pomade and it is perfect for getting the tiniest brow hair strokes, I tried a few Morphe brushes and they pretty much all fell apart but I like one: the E37 for very pinpoint concealing – just placement, no blending, and using angled blush brushes instead of pointed because I have uneven cheekbones really helps me get a more even blend on both sides!

  • Jennifer Stewart

My top 5 for 2017: Wayne Goss brushes (now and forever), the Charlotte Tilbury pencil sharpener, SimpleHuman Sensor Mirror Pro, Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer, and Q-tips. Love your recommendations, Sabrina!

My fave 5: 1. Eyelash curler – not a specific one as I have yet to invest in a good one so I currently use one from the drugstore, but in general I have noticed such a huge difference! 2. Beauty Blender – just a classic 3. It Brushes for Ulta #105 – an amazing crease brush 4. Morphe M433 brush – the best blending brush I have ever used 5. Real Techniques Setting brush – great multitasker! I love it for setting my under eyes but also for highlighter

  • Jun Okada

    Mac 217!

  • underyourwaves

My Muji eyelash curler works as well as Shu Umeura!

  • Jennifer Ryder

My favorites are the Hourglass Ambient Powder brush, Tweezerman tweezers, and if dental floss counts as a beauty tool, I love Cocofloss.

  • Viv

    Aloha.
I would really like to try to Dyson hair dryer- even though I don’t care for hair dryers. Perhaps this one is different.
The Glamcor Ricki skinny vanity mirror was on my radar but unfortunately it is too expensive. I got a makeup mirror from Impressions Vanity that I enjoy.

There are other things I saw last year that I really wanted to try- a jade roller, Nurse Jamie skin care tools, the new hot tools ergonomic hair curling wands, etc.

Thanks so much for the giveaway.

  • Filiz Turan

My favorite brushes are from Zoeva, my favorite lash curler from Tweezerman and one must not forget the trusty Beauty Blender that blends foundation and concealer better than anything else!
Beautiful blog and Instagram page, just found you because I was browsing swatches of Marc Jacobs palettes, found your picture from pinterest and wanted to see the review. (and old one from February 2016)

  • Lisa L

muji cotton pads, shiseido eyelash curler, BaByliss 1.5″ curling Iron, makeup eraser, and the Eve Lom Muslin cloths!

  • BooBooNinja

Suratt curler, WG 14, WG Air Brush, Real Techniques duo-fibre face brush, Heated eyelash curler.

  • Brushes are some of my favorite things so my list is mostly brushes:
-Shiseido cotton pads- longtime favorite that don’t leave fluff on my face. Bonus you can remove an entire hand of nailpolish with just one pad.
    -Surratt Face Brush
-Suqqu Cheek – the hype is fully justified on this one.
-Koyudo fu-pa13- I like using fingers or a beauty blender for foundation, this is the first brush that I feel applies liquid foundation seamlessly without leaving streaks
-Hakuhodo f6141 fan brush- I had to get this directly from Hakuhodo but it’s a beautiful small fan brush make of mixed undyed goat and blue squirrel. I love it.

  • ang18

i loved wayne goss’s fan brush, sephora’s pro tightliner brush, mac 217, muji cotton pads, and microfiber cloths!

  • Jessica Rachman

Clarisonic MIA 2, T3 Styling Wand, beautyblender original, Shiseido facial cotton, and the Chanel powder brush!!!!

  • Fernanda Turri Braga

The Vanity Mirror looks amazing! I gave up on eyelash curlers a few years ago but I might try the MAC one because my outer lashes really need a curl! Thanks for the tip 😉

  • All forms of eyebrow products. This year I will concentrate more on foundations =)

  • Alexiel Grim

I got a couple of new Burberry brushes but definitely need more tools

  • Courtney Hoffman

The only new tools in my arsenal are the Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush & the sigma brush cleaning mate! I tried the beauty blender but felt like I used WAY more product than with the kabuki brush to get the same coverage, which just seemed wasteful to me. Even though I’ve had them for a while, I would have to say my Clarisonic & Sonicare where also some of my fave beauty tools this year! Oh and I finally bought a magnifying mirror which is so much better than basically bisecting myself to see up close in the regular mirror haha

  • Kirsty Marr
  • Maria Sam

My top 5 are tweezerman tweezers, Shu Uemura eyelash curler, jade roller, cotton rounds, and Plume angled brush.

  • T.

  • Jenn Serrano

My top 5 beauty tools would be 1. the beauty blender sponge, 2. my Le Metier de Beaute eyelash curler, 3. Tom Ford’s bronzer brush ( really any Tom Ford brush – they’re so fluffy and soft), 4. my Clarisonic Mia face brush (it doesn’t bother my sensitive skin), and finally 5. my Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water! I’m very interested in the Dyson hairdryer and I think once my current one dies I just may take the plunge on this one! Thanks for the giveaway, Sabrina, you are always so generous with your readers.

  • Colleen P.

    1. Nail scissors
    2. Glass nail files
    3. Cotton rounds/squares (used both Swisspers and Shiseido this year. I prefer Swisspers, but have found them difficult to get)
    4. My It Cosmetics travel brush set—I love every brush I own by It, but I tend to have this set in a more-accessible place than the other brushes.
    5. Washcloths-particularly the nice Vera Wang ones from Kohl’s because they are very gentle on my face, but take all of the masks off (which is what I mostly use them for, beauty-wise).
I have several new beauty accessories I received that have yet to try, so I hope this list looks very different at the end of this year!

    Still Lora Rae

  • Rachel

I don’t use a lot of different beauty tools, but I love the Real Techniques brush range, especially the concealer-setting brush, face brush and blush brush. I also really love their makeup sponge!
My Shu Uemura eyelash curler is also fantastic

  • Glenda

I wish I was so much more knowledgeable when it comes to brushes! They fascinate me.
I’m really curious about that mirror… Your pictures look so good.
One beauty tool that I recently discovered was the eyelash curler! I want to eventually buy the Surratt or Shiseido ones, but for now I’m using a Tweezerman’s one, and it’s serving me pretty well.

  • Aracely Torres

My top five were, ANY brand cotton rounds for applying toner, and removing nail polish, my beauty blender is a must for foundation, Japonesque’s Go curl eyelash curler, perfect for my round eyes, Sephora collection glass nail file, and a crazy amount of It Cosmetics and Sigma brushes…faves would be any of the Heavenly luxe brushes from It Cosmetics, from Sigma, top two are the E21 and E36.

  • Perfume Sample Queen

Shu Umeura eye lash curler, clarisonic face brush, tweezerman cucitle clippers, tweezerman tweezers (late to the game) and my beauty blender! I need to invest in good face brushes. Goal for 2018!

  • Brenda Witherspoon-Bedard

  • Tomy Biton

I was not a fan of the dyson hair dryer, I had much higher expectations for the $400 price tag. Hoping to see a lighter cord and better handing for the next generations https://tomybsalon.com/

  • Charli Griffith
