Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In a Palette Beauty Glow

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look Palette Beauty Glow | The Beauty Look Book

Charlotte Tilbury’s latest in beauty is a new Instant Look In A Palette called Beauty Glow ($75, made in Italy). This is the darkest option of the three that have been released to date. Natural Beauty (reviewed here) was one that looked so pretty swatched on my arm but was too sheer to show up on my face. I ended up gifting it away. Seductive Beauty was launched last year with deeper options (review here) but I have not reached for it very often as I’ve found I still prefer her individual products, palette-wise I’ve found myself using the By Terry Sun Designer Palette #2 or Tom Ford Winter Soleil Palettes instead. The latest one in Beauty Glow is the best one yet. At first glance I suspected it would be too warm with the warm browns and rose gold shades but it’s actually just perfect. Quality wise everything is excellent, however I have mixed feelings about the face products. The pigment isn’t bad – just by comparison her individual Filmstar Bronze and Glows and her Cheek to Chic Blushes are so much better in terms of pigment and texture leaving me wanting a bit more for the palette. In general I feel the face products in her palettes are on the sheer side with a slightly powdery feel.

A closer look at the palette and color descriptions. These palettes are truly for the person on-the-go. It’s designed for a quick and easy look or for touch ups. It’s goof proof, simple in concept and super easy to use. If you’re into a super natural look, want as few steps as possible, but still want to look like you have some makeup on these palettes are definitely worth a look.

There are 3 eyeshadows with labeled numbers so you know what order to apply. The colors can be applied as a wash or gradient as they go from light to dark. Cheek options include bronzer/contour, two blush shades and a highlighter.

  • 1 Eyeshadow is to brighten, it’s a shimmery peachy champagne color, I love this one!
  • 2 Eyeshadow is a stunning shimmering copper shade, I want this in a larger pan, it has the right amount of warmth to be coppery-rose but doesn’t give me a red pink-eye look
  • 3 Eyeshadow is a matte warm brown, pigment is excellent
  • 4 Face is a bronze shade, it has a slight hint of shimmer but applies more like a matte
  • 5 Cheek is a brown terracotta like blush, it looks scary in the pan but applies with a semi sheer finish and is easy to blend out
  • 6 Cheek is a sheer coral pink with a hint of shimmer
  • 7 Highlight is a pale off-white shimmer on my skin

A quick look at Seductive Beauty vs Beauty Glow. For some reason this round I couldn’t fit all the swatches on one arm. I’ve done it before so I don’t know why I had so much trouble this round. You can see Seductive Beauty review in this post here.

Overall thoughts are this is a good palette. I think that it is the best one she has launched to date. I love the shadows in this palette and wish I could buy them all separately. I’m going to have to hunt for a good dupe on the Eye #2 color because it’s just perfect. The cheek colors are smooth and have sheer to medium color payoff. Again I don’t think they are bad, it’s just that her individual face products are far superior in quality and texture (at least in my opinion) so by comparison they’re just ok. I think the entire set is worth the $75 price point for a combination of factors: color selection, pigment, convenience, ease of useΒ  and quality. That being said if there are only a handful of shades you like then I’d say pass and buy something you think you’ll use more of.

You can find the Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette in Beauty Glow online at Charlotte Tilbury. Have you tried this yet? What did you think? If you have any rose-gold shadow favorites let me know! So far I still have and love the Urban Decay Naked3 which has some amazing rose shades but doesn’t have warm options. Always on the hunt for wearable rose-gold copper ones – they are hard to come by for me!

Thanks for the review! To be honest, I like Seductive Beauty more than Beauty Glow, I just find it more right for both when I have a tan and when I don’t. Still, the rose gold theme is a great idea x

Nice! Glad you found one you love πŸ™‚ Seductive Beauty is a great one!

I’m been going back and forth on this one tbh – I don’t own any of the other CT instant look palettes and given that I’m such a fan of hers, it feels like I should have at least one! However, I’ve splurged on one of the TF Winter Soleil Palettes recently, picked up the Soleil Afterglow palette, completed my collection of By Terry Sun Designer palettes so yeah, I can’t justify this easily unless I absolutely love it. Thank you for your honest and fair review, Sabrina. I think I will sit this one out – the colours are nice bbut definitely not calling to me. I suspect that there are more instant look palettes yet to come, given the success of these 3! I’m sure one of them will be right for me πŸ™‚

I totally feel your pain. I would say if I had to pick between palettes then I would also agree your palette collection is pretty complete for now. You can’t beat the TF and By Terry ones – the CT is a nice one, but if you’re iffy about any of the shades, definitely pass and save your $$ for something you know you’ll love 100% πŸ™‚

I really want this palette only for shade 2. Do you have any dupes in your collection that are in single pans??

    • BeautyLookBook May 13, 2017 at 8:18 pm

I don’t blame you! Also no dupes … at least I haven’t found any yet. There is a MAC Foiled Eyeshadow that was a limited edition called Faerie Fayre that comes close but I suspect impossible to find now.

This looks beautiful. The shades are so pretty.

I really like this palette too. I thought it would be too light for my chocolate skin tone, but all the colours are really good for day time. Great review!

    • BeautyLookBook May 13, 2017 at 8:15 pm

I’m glad to hear you love this too. Glad it works for your skintone – wish more palettes like this came out!

Beautiful (and beautiful on you), but not for me–too warm (my wallet is breathing a sigh of relief). Natural Beauty is my go-to–I may just finish a palette for the first time in my life. Great review (as usual)!

    • BeautyLookBook May 13, 2017 at 8:15 pm

I’m so happy you love Natural Beauty! I think it’s a great one for fair skins – and yes, Beauty Glow will definitely be too warm if you find Natural Beauty suits you better.

  • steff @ May 12, 2017 at 6:48 pm

That enhance shade reminds me a lot of the Kim color in the Master Palette by Mario! Good luck πŸ™‚

    • BeautyLookBook May 13, 2017 at 8:14 pm

What a great eye all you girls have! I just swatched it side by side, the ABH Kim shade is more brown and I’d say 1 to 1.5 shades deeper, also has a bit more red.

      • steff @ May 13, 2017 at 8:17 pm

Oh boo! I hate when it’s just a bit off and you can’t find a perfect dupe. I’m wishing you great luck in finding one easier to access than in the palette, itself πŸ™‚

Ohh I was waiting for this review! I had my mind made up about this but I still had doubts about the blush shade which looks a bit too dark for my liking. As you mentioned about the formula, I might skip this.

I can see how the cheek shades would be too dark if you’re fair to medium. I suspect if I weren’t as tan as I were right now they would be too dark on me as well.

What a nice palette, I absolutely love CT makeup and these tones are definitely on trend right now. Love this post!

Hi Sabrina, have you checked out Make Up For Ever’s shadow in ME-612? It’s a beautiful rose-copper shade that really reminds me of the 2nd shade in this palette. One of my faves and I also have an olive skintone similar to yours (just a bit deeper).

    • BeautyLookBook May 13, 2017 at 8:11 pm

Hi Toya! Great eye! I do have MUFE ME-612, I just pulled it to compare and it has a similar undertone but I would say the MUFE is about 2-3 shades lighter with a silvery pink undertone by comparison. The search continues! That Make Up For Ever eyeshadow formula is amazing though!

  • The Most Sisters May 15, 2017 at 10:46 am

I have to agree that the eyeshadows look way more impressive than the actual face products in this palette. And to pay 75$ for 3 lovely eyeshadows? Hmm…

  • Anna Manalastas May 15, 2017 at 7:24 pm

How would you say the eyeshadow colors in Beauty Glow compare to the TF Soleil Warm Palette of shadows? Close or still different?

    • BeautyLookBook May 17, 2017 at 8:56 pm

Very different! CT is a lot warmer and TF Soleil by comparison almost feels neutral-cool.

  • J.M. May 16, 2017 at 11:19 am

Check Shu Uemura Nude Atelier Warm palette – very close colors and better quality. It’s picture on shu website is not accurate – it is rose gold, rose, and brown. Lighter, cooler and brighter than what is shown on the picture.

I’ve seen this all over Instagram and I’ve been dying to know if it is worth the money! I think it’s definitely good if you’re traveling light and want to bring only a couple of beauty things. Great review! Thank youu
