Sephora VIB Rouge Sale Beauty Haul

November 13, 2015

The Sephora VIB Holiday 20% off sale starts today for VIB Members in store (with your e-mail code or coupon mailer) and online with code VIB20. I am a VIB Rouge member and tested the code today to see if it would work (because several e-mailed me asking me to test it) but it doesn’t. I have a roundup of what I bought last week when the code worked for VIB Rouge Members along with some quick swatches of the color/makeup items. I shopped in store – there were a few things in my online cart that were online exclusives but I didn’t check out before the sale ended – no biggie since I splurged on a lot of other goodies. Here’s the damage below.

For my husband, I picked up the Dior Sauvage Eau De Toilette Spray in the 2 oz bottle. He prefers smaller bottles because they take up less counter space. I had the 3 piece gift set on my list for him, but it’s an online exclusive and he’s picky about after shave lotions. I decided to stay with what was safe. I also picked up the Tom Ford Costa Azzurra Eau de Parfum for him. It’s a fresh scent but still has enough masculine notes to wear year round. Sephora has the exclusive on the small 1 oz size so I thought I’d try it. I should have just bought the regular 1.7 oz size but my curiosity got the best of me with the tiny bottle.

For makeup, I picked up the following:

  • Burberry First Kiss Fresh Gloss Lip Balm in Coral Glow which is a stunning coral balm, it hydrates, feels good on the lips, and gives a healthy tint of color with a stunning glow
  • Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks in Melted Nude and Melted Chihuahua have been on my list for ages, I can’t believe it took me so long to buy these, Melted Nude might just be my new holy grail nude lip color, Chihuahua is what I wanted Kat Von D Lolita to be on me
  • Cover FX Illuminator in Sunlight has had so many raves, I had to try it, I’ve worn it 2x so far, I’m undecided about it, it’s like but not pure love, for the price it’s good
  • Sephora Colorful Contour Powder in Fiji and Highlighter in Secretive can’t be beat at the $15 price tag (for each), I was hoping Secretive would be a dupe for Chanel Coups de Minuit, but the Sephora color is a lot sheerer in finish, Fiji is a nice warm subtle contour
  • Cover FX Illuminating Primer is another highly raved about primer, I have high hopes for it, currently testing, will report soon
  • Bite Beauty Mix and Mingle Duos in Café/Pepper (for me) and Latte/Cortado (as a gift) of course I could not resist these cute lip duos, Café is the best light pink ever, I wish it was available in the full size lipstick

Below swatches alongside a few other shades:
Burberry First Kiss Fresh Gloss Lip Balm in Coral Glow, Sweet Plum, Rose Blush (swatched here)
Too Faced Melted Lipsticks in Nude and Chihuahua
Kat Von D Beauty Lolita Lip Duo (swatched here)

Chanel Coups de Minuit (swatches here)
Sephora Colorful Highlighter and Contour Powder

For hair, skin, body I picked up a few items to restock and a couple new items:

If you shopped the sale last week or are planning to shop the VIB Sale this weekend, let me know what’s on your list or what you picked up. Would love to hear about your hauls 🙂

If you’re shopping in store, you can show the card or e-mail you received for the VIB Code or Coupon. If you’re shopping online at Sephora.com use code VIB20 (good for VIB members only), you should be able to use it multiple times online from today until November 16th.

Happy shopping!

You got so many great things! I only ordered a face mask, should have taken better advantage.

Thanks! Impressed with the restraint you had! My wallet wishes I did 😛

Thanks! The Bite Mix and Mingles are really too cute 🙂

  • Suselew November 13, 2015 at 8:23 pm

It's unbelievable that a VIB Rouge member cannot order on the VIB sale. Sephora continues to amaze me with how they structure their sales.

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:04 am

I know – so weird how they split it!

  • Clever Girl Reviews November 13, 2015 at 11:18 pm

I just got a Bite Mix and Mingle myself. I got Pomegranate and Palomino. I think I might need more!

    • Lisa November 14, 2015 at 5:47 pm

I got pomegranete & palomino as well as cafe and pepper. I love the colors alone as well as mixed together!

Looking forward to review of the cover fx primer!

My purchases during VIB Rouge included Tarte's Bling It On blush palette, Marc Jacobs' Mod Noir perfume, Laura Mercier's translucent setting powder, and Korres' quercetin and oak primer. So far I've used everything but the setting powder; love all the other items! I got the Korres primer as a sample and loved it so had to buy the full size. I was a bit hesitant about the blush palette since some reviews online said it was too light, but I don't think that's the case with me and I'm really happy I purchased it; all the shades look really nice and I usually mix a couple together.

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:05 am

Great picks! The MJ Mod Noir perfume has such beautiful packaging! Interesting about the Korres Primer, I love the line, I'll have to look into it 🙂 Thanks for the rec!

  • NJ November 14, 2015 at 12:36 am

I spent on skincare. I purchased 2 Sunday Riley items: the Start Over Eye Cream (plumping!) and her Juno oil; and 3 Drunk Elephant items: the C-Firma Day Serum (a Vitamin C serum with added goodness), the T.L.C. Framboos Glycol Night Serum (the most effective combo AHA I've tried – not harsh, but very effective – I like it much better than the Sunday Riley Good Genes AHA serum that gets so many raves (that Sunday Riley AHA leaves me peeling but doesn't get rid of flakes – odd)); and lastly, Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil. All these items were a real splurge for me, but I tried multiple samples of them for many weeks and all behaved beautifully on my very cranky and sensitive skin (dry but still clog prone, texture issues from old acne scars and sun damage cause by the only acne "cure" from the bad old days-sun burn). A note on the C-Firma Day Serum: I have tried several different kinds of Vitamin C serum for the past few years and the results from this one were startling. I thought my glowing skin days were far behind me, but my skin actually glows when I use this. I am astonished. Worth the expense.

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:07 am

Great picks NJ! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Sunday Riley and Drunk Elephant items. I haven't tried much from SR but have tested a few minis and wasn't really thrilled. Good to know on the C-Firma Day Serum, I've tried a number of Vitamin C items in the past and they always leave my skin really irritated and peeling. I'll have to see if I can test a sample in store.

  • Melissa G. November 14, 2015 at 12:56 am

I got the Shiseido eye cream set with 4 of the eye masks inside. I picked up a bottle of Caudalie's cleansing milk.

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:07 am

Oooh, I don't think I've ever tried the Caudalie Cleansing Milk! I need to now 🙂

  • Gail November 14, 2015 at 1:47 am

Great haul! Just wondering if you ever got any more Louboutin lipsticks? I got Just Nothing and LOVE it, but would love to see your picks if you did end up getting any more!

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:08 am

Hi Gail, I had 4 in my online cart. Of course I forgot to check out before the VIB Rouge sale ended – was kinda pissed at myself about it. I'm going to see if I can see the colors in person since I didn't get them during the sale.

    • Gail November 15, 2015 at 2:55 am

Awww, that's a bummer! Checking them out in person would really be better though. Wish I had someplace I could do that.

  • Magdalene November 14, 2015 at 4:45 am

I got the MUFE Artist Palette 1 which looks beautiful. Clinique Color Pop blush in Cola. NARS eye primer and the FAB Deep Cleanser with Red Clay.

My Sephora just gave me the 20% off with my VIB card.

The Two Faced L/S in Chihuahua looks nice 🙂 as does the Bite Pepper L/S.

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:09 am

Awesome! Too Faced is so so so amazing. I really wish I had investigated sooner b/c I've been missing out.

  • Mary Taylor November 14, 2015 at 9:26 am

Thanks for great tips!! Your article is really awesome. Using Sakare's skincare serum helps to keep my skin fresher, younger and brighter.

  • Ellen Wildner November 14, 2015 at 2:24 pm

This is a great haul! Can't wait to go to sephora for the VIB sale!

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:09 am

      Hope you find some goodies!

  • Lisa November 14, 2015 at 5:52 pm

I bought a Burberry creme shadow in antique gold. The quality was so poor I returned the day after it arrived in the mail. Almost no color payoff. Also returned was the Bite Beauty VIB Red lipstick. I didn't realize it was matte. My mistake. The rest of my purchases were amazing! The Guerlain Holiday Palette, Verso Eye serum A new Louboutain lippie, etc

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:10 am

Is the Antique Gold the holiday one? If yes, I swatched it in store and was surprised how hard/patchy it was which is surprising to me since Burberry is usually a hit with color payoff and quality. The Guerlain Holiday palette is so dreamy!

How do you like the Verso Eye Serum?

    • Lisa November 15, 2015 at 12:42 am

Yes. Antique Gold is the Holiday. I live in Houston and to date there is no one carrying Burberry Beauty in the city. My picks are totally hit or miss. I really rely on a few core beauty bloggers (like you Sabrina :)) who keep my misses at a minimum! The Verso Eye Sersum is AMAZING! I bought this because I am close to running out of my first. It was terrific alone, but I purchase the Jenu a month ago and WOW. I just love it. I have never been able to tolerate retinol before, but skin is really receptive to these new retinol encapsulated formulas.

    • Anonymous November 17, 2015 at 1:01 am

Hi Lisa, have you tried the Sephora store in the Houston Galleria? I was there during the VIB Rouge sale, and they carry Burberry. Also, the Burberry store in the Galleria carries a very limited assortment of the makeup line. Hope this helps. ~nancy

    • Lisa November 17, 2015 at 8:41 pm

Nancy thanks so much for the heads up. I ave been in there several times since the remodel and never spotted a display for it. I will make a special trip to check it out. Thanks so much! Lisa

  • Evelyn November 14, 2015 at 9:17 pm

I tried to pick up some gifts in between items for me. lol I picked up The Sofia set from Marc Jacobs to match my sister Sofia, Bite holiday pencil set, Josie Maran body butters, Becca Glow on the Go. For me – a Burberry lip velvet in Poppy Red, Alterna shampoos that I was out of, a new eye cream from Farmacy that I was interested in trying, BB Luxe lipstick in Red Velvet, Lancome's lip pencil in Sheer Raspberry. I have a red lipstick problem. lol

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:11 am

So many good picks here! That Becca Glow on the Go set is so cute!!

  • Jackie November 14, 2015 at 10:11 pm

Alas I was not able to get anything this year since I'm not VIB… Maybe next year. Love the Fiji contour powder you got btw.

    • Sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:11 am

Bummer, maybe next year. Although I hope they will have some good deals for Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

  • sabrina November 15, 2015 at 12:36 am

I have so many things on my wish list right now. So far I've purchased the Tiffany Blue Clarisonic and a couple foundations that I want to try out. I really like that Kat Von D Lolita swatch and I may have to add that one to my list too.

  • Laura Schmaltz November 15, 2015 at 3:05 am

I purchased the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con 20, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille and Noir Pour Femme, Ciate Olivia Polermo Smouldering Eye Palette, a few Kat Von D Metal Crush eye shadows (thanks to your review!), and a NEST Hearth candle. Not a bad haul – but now I am out of money. I should have saved some for Black Friday! :'(

  • Audra Nicole Koch November 15, 2015 at 8:21 pm

Oh my gosh that's a lot! I've been dying to try the Melted lipsticks but all I picked up was a red NARS lipstick that I've had my eye on!

I love seeing what other people picked up during the sale! I'll be doing a blog post when my order ships, too. 🙂 Definitely had to pick up the UD Spectrum palette, it looked a lot better than the Vice4. A smashbox CC cream, some Nars products, a Kevin Aucoin contour powder and Tarte brush – very excited to start trying them out!

  • Anonymous November 17, 2015 at 12:37 am

Great minds think alike!! I got the meldted lipstick in chuahua and the Bite double in Cafe/Pepper. I haven't gotten my shipment yet. The colors show up more pink on your skin than i was hoping for or had seen on other swatches. I have very fair skin with auburn hair, so hopefully they will work out for me. So much makeup around this time of year, very hard to resist!

  • You, Me and Whatever November 19, 2015 at 6:34 am

Definitely ordered a couple primers I've been wanting to try a long with the Guerlain Maxi Lash, which I'm dying for! You picked up some amazing things, can't wait to see some reviews.
